Did you all see Hooglands list on Gathering Magic today for BtL? Not impressive, but I like the manabase (because it's identical to mine )
Saw the same article and his list had me intrigued, since I'm looking for a few URx decks to jam Jace into. What's the list that you're running, and why exactly is Hoogland's list bad? I don't know enough about BTL Scapeshift to know what's optimal and what isn't.

The first thing is running Cultivate and Hunting Wilds with 2 Farseek. Generally there are 2 copies between all of those cards, and no more than 1 Cultivate and Hunting Wilds total, since they fill the same role. I like Farseek better with Jace in the mix though, so I'd consider swapping from my 1 Fareek 1 Wilds to 2 Farseek. I would not however, run 4 of those altogether.
The second thing is that as good as Jace is, Cryptic Command is more important. I would never sign up a blue Scapeshift deck with less than 4 ever. At that point I might as well play another deck.
The third thing is running 2 Snapcaster Mage. It's defendable, but like we've mentioned that we're a bad Jace deck, we're a terrible Snapcaster deck. It's there for a reason, but two isn't a good idea, and it's an even worse idea in a list that's running 12 ramp spells instead of 10.
Beyond that, preliminary testing with Jace exceeded my expectations. The Brainstorm feels much more relevant with the deck than I had anticipated. Whether or not it dies then, that Brainstorm feels really good.
Regarding Jace, is the correct number two, three, or two main and one side? I figure 4x Jace isn't correct, even though everyone seems to be jamming the full 4 into any deck running blue.
I think it's 3 for RUG, 2 for BtL. I've also been considering that 1 in the sideboard (of Bring to Light). I want to try being able to go up to 3 Anger of the Gods, 4 Obstinate Baloth, 3 Jace for a midrange-style plan post sideboard. Whether or not it's a good idea, I want to try it

I have been testing an Engineered Explosives in the main and it has been great. Hopefully you have one somewhere int he 75.
How do we all feel about Izzet Staticaster in the side? In the day of Birthing Pod it was a champion. I have seen a lot of Young Preezys and Lingering Souls tokens in Mardu Pyromancer recently.

I’ve tried EE in the main et yes I think, it deserve a place en the 75 ! For Izzet Staticaster , with the amount of , Mardu, human , and lingering on the field , I want to give it a try . The only problem is that , it doesn’t synergise well with our sweeper !
For Jace, I don’t know what to think of it because I really like Cryptic , and with jace , the 4 drop number goes very high !
As far as the Jace question goes, most decks don't slam Jace on turn 4, generally opting until they have some semblance of control over the game (such as 8 mana for Cryptic + Jace, Verdict + Jace, Snap-Bolt, etc) and if there is any reason I'd call Scapeshift a good Jace deck is that it gets to that point a LOT faster than other decks.
So I went 4-1 at a local modern event yesterday.
I went with the list purklefluff posted a few days ago.
My match ups were as follows:
2-1 U/W Control
2-0 RUG Scapeshift
2-0 Eldrazi Tron
2-1 Jeskai Control
1-2 Bloodbraid Jund
My overall Impressions with Jace is that he is good. But most situations I got him out, either I had no shuffle effects to storm away bad cards or my opponent dealt with him. In the scapeshift match I resolved one and basically fatesealed to victory (After jace ate 8 damage to a Gaea's Revenge!)
The big card I really liked was Eternal Witness. The advantage I got having it in the main was tremendous. Being able to buy back scapeshift or cryptic against control seemed very good. Although it got inquisitioned against jund, having both thragtusk and baloth in hand made me feel it would have done overtime in that matchup.
Lightning bolt was another very important card, if nothing else as a counter to Jace. Every time someone played Jace on me, they brainstormed. Which allowed me to just bolt it with the trigger on the stack.
Never saw roast so I don't know how relevant it is. Seems like against Eldrazi it would be impactful.
I definitely want to get more matches in, but overall I am quite happy with how the deck played.

If jund continues to be a problem, having a third ancestral vision or obstinate baloth may be a good idea. Keranos is a really strong card in grindy matchups so I'd also look there!
A second large creature that's tough to remove may also be a thing. Carnage tyrant, gaea's revenge, thragtusk, wurmcoil. I don't think there's necessarily a right answer.
Jund was always a trickier matchup for rug unless you were on the prismatic omen plan (omen made your topdecks much better).
Looks really solid. I wouldn't change much there at all. I'm lukewarm on izzet charm and would maybe swap one for a spell pierce, snare or maybe even the 4th sleight of hand. (i think you need four sleight)
Other than that looks decent. Go and test! There's only so much theorycrafting one can do haha.

The more I think about it, the more I like the Eternal Witness spice. Haven't played it, but it seems like it would be sweet.
The biggest thing about your list to me is not running maindeck Anger of the Gods/Sweltering Suns, at least one of them. Purkle's current list isn't running any either, but I'd run 1-2.
Thanks guys. I have loved E Witness. Great value and lots of good places to use her. I had been thinking of Noxious Revival (a la Storm's inclusion the last couple years) but Witness is much more appropriate for this deck.
I'm testing with 23 land per purklefluff's list and agree--Izzet Charm is useful but I find the loot mode less than ideal. It's mostly a counter and burn card... which is good but not sure that justifies a 2-of slot.
I'll be playing this on Saturday (and hopefully Sunday!) at the SCG Open in Dallas.
I've been messing around with scapeshift on mtgo since the Jace unbanning. I'm a firm believer that you have to limit the number of non-cantrip, non-mana source, non-scapeshift cards to 4 or less. I think if you're playing 4 bolt and 2 izzet charm you're setting yourself up for failure.
I've been pretty happy with this 60:
I haven't played enough with azcanta yet. I played 1 in the 75 and wasn't too thrilled with it, so that's why it's not in my current list. I feel it's much better in the Ux control decks. When you activate it in scapeshift you have very specific cards you want, where as in Ux control you're happy with the extra card. But I probably should give Pascal's list in the CFB video a try.
Winning the die roll, going turn 1 search, turn 2 remand, turn 3 jace is amazing. I think you want 1-2 farseek to maximize turn 3 Jaces. I've liked Jace in this deck, it's no dig through time, but it's still very good.
I'm not too sure about the expensive cards in the sideboard as some peoples' plan is to fulminator you out of the game. Hornet queen is the nuts vs jund barring maelstrom pulse. Ugin is 20 cents online so I had to try it. There's probably something better than Ugin.
I've tested the Bring to Light list a little bit. BtL can't get Jace. There's no value card to get on turns 3-5 other than hunting wilds.
But I don't think the deck is that well positioned, as there's are too many turn 4 decks.

Also, Jace/Baloth/Anger midrange plan has been gas. I might consider a Courser of Kruphix in there, or maybe another Jace. Time will tell.

1G Sorcery
Destroy target artifact or enchantment. You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
This looks great. Only bummer is that its at sorcery speed. I assume this sees play. What do we think?
Version with 3 jace , isn’t it too much ?
Yes. I'm on 0 Jace but 2 Search for Azcanta now. 2 Jace in the SB for grindy matchups.
1-2 in the main is fine but it's a meta call, IMO.
