The idea is basically to make curses kind of viable in Modern, the deck relies mostly in our Footsteps of the Goryo & Bitterheart Witch 'combo'. We try to dig our deck in order to get the Witch into our graveyard, then use Footsteps of Goryo and start cursing our opponent.
We want to discards the witch before turn 3 (We can also try to get Obzedat, Ghost Council in there ) while trying to control the board.
Once the witch is dead, we get Curse of Misfortunes or the curse more fitting for the match up
The basic idea I've is just this... Combo pieces, some form of removal, chunk blockers (Lingering Souls) and draw/discard in order to get the pieces together.
For the mana I think 23 lands will suffice But im not sure how to build the landbase 'till I get the whole list.
I've seen Legacy Curses lists; their Curse lock consists of Overwhelming Splendor, Curse of Death's Hold, and Cruel Reality. I think Cruel Reality can safely replace Curse of Thirst and possibly free up more deck slots; Teferi, Hero of Dominaria can break up your line of Curses, and Cruel Reality prevents him from sticking around for too long.
Does the idea of discarding the witchs / obzedat sounds relliable? Im trying to compare it to Death Shadow in some way since you need the Footstep in order to pull something out of the deck
It should work quite well. There was a list running around for a while that was running footsteps of the goryo with obzedat and ashen rider and woodfall primus. It was quite a nasty reanimator deck, falling back on unburial rites as a secondary option. That said, this deck really wants to get a few curses active, so I think you might want a little more discard/draw in cathartic reunion or similar.
I also think you want more interaction such as discard or more removal.
Between Cathartic Reunion and Tormenting Voice I think I like Tormenting Voice better, since all the curses in my hand are death draws (And running 2 of each, I need to have them on my library in order for Curse of Misfortunes to fetch them)

Also since I'll be splashing some white I think I could fit some Path to Exile somewhere, as well as some Collective Brutality
Any tip in order to improve the list are really appreaciated.
As far as the curse package, I think the best pieces would be Curse of Misfortunes, Curse of Death's Hold, Overwhelming Splendor, Cruel Reality, and Curse of Exhaustion (maybe out of sideboard depending on how much Phoenix is in your meta). Death's Hold and Splendor create the lock on creatures, and Cruel Reality wins the game. Any more curses than that and you cut real spots from your deck which is thin as it is.
I also think you want more interaction such as discard or more removal.
