Something I recently thought about. Back in 2003, when I first got into magic,I saw some guys at Toys R Us playing MTG and one guy had an Atog deck and was playing with his friends. Since then, Atog's always been on my mind. When I brought it up on a forum I was a member of at the time, a member posted a deck I'd like using both Atog and the soon to be released Broodstar. I know neither one are very competitive but both ARE a lot of fun. I was thinking, what would be a more left field deck? An old school Atog deck for Modern or Broodstar? The reason I like Broodstar so much is he gets around Fatal Push, Dismember, Inquisition of Kozilek and possibly Tragic Slip. Sure he can still be Path to Exile, Wrath of God or Damnation.
So I have some deck ideas, but which would be more left field and unexpected? I think WU Broodstar is more left field. But I'd love to hear other suggestions.
Broodstar is a more constant threat. I dont know so much about left field but it's good how it has evasion and lingers while being powered up as you play artifacts rather than steadily declining in power due to having to sac artifacts every time its blocked or blocks like atom does.
Either one needs Lightning Greaves to make it untargetable. Nothing like saving your field just to have a path or push in the case of atog. Sad panda.
All that said I'd like to encourage you to try.... ahem. Megatog as a fun option to either one. Granted the artifact count is lower since the lands are banned, but I know from experience that a hasted trampling, untargetable, megatog demands a good answer or is game over. My highest placing ever was at a state tournament where I was second seed heading into top 8.
Not bragging. Just saying it's fun to play a deck where the opponent just straight up dies from an empty board state as they take 21 damage out of nowhere.

I'm quoting you for quoting one favorite one time South Park character.
Also: Left field means it's unexpected. It's like playing a low tier character in a fighting game like Ferra/Tor in MKX and doing surprisingly well.
