It's time to let my little cat out of the bag: Breath of Fury has always seemed to me like a card waiting to be broken.
I mean, it provides repeated combat steps for as long as you have creatures. So clearly, all you need are a lot of creatures, right? Well, apparently, that hasn't worked so far. Well how about having few creatures, but producing more of them? While there are plenty of creatures that can tap to create a token, this hasn't taken off either. Possibly because the token generator always had to waste its time generating tokens.
So how about a little twist: what if you produce creatures while attacking?
Hero of Bladehold has been able to do this for a while, but now she has some sweet, sweet friends: Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Precinct Captain are respectable on their own, and add more, and cheaper viable sources of attack-based tokens.
But wait, there's something missing here: haste. The newly born fodder needs to be able to attack, right? Well, depending on how risky you are, Mass Hysteria goes for one , but I personally prefer Emblem of the Warmind, which keeps haste limited to your guys for more. Hence, as long as you can enchant another creature with Breath of Fury and attack with one of these three creatures while having mass haste, you'll generate infinite attack steps provided you get through. And wouldn't you just know it, Hero of Iroas lets us cheat on the costs of both auras and serves as as sacrificial lamb to get the ball rolling.
Now, what is possibly the best part about this that you might be looking at some of the cards I mentioned and think, wow, that looks like a half-assed Boros aggro list. And surprise, surprise - it is. That's the back up plan - a passable aggro deck. The three main creatures are quite powerful in their own right, and haste on them just makes them better. All we need to do now is round out the deck:
Of course, not every game results in infinite attack steps on turn 4, but then you can always just play regular aggro. It's not the best, but it's better then a lot of other back up plans.
I'm sure there are plenty of possibilities I'm forgetting, and my list is likely far from perfect, but I'm sure Sally's Hive Mind can help give this the nudge it needs.
Love it and it could also use a soulbound haste guy from the avacyn block.. 2/1 soulbond haste ^^
Lightning Mauler was actually my first thought, but I don't think there is any way to stack his and Breath of Fury's triggers to get it to work. Breath sacs its carrier then immediately reattaches, so the new token has to already exist, meaning you won't get to soulbond the token.
That is how it works, right?
Rules question... If you cast Brave the Elements do white creatures that come into play after you cast Brave also get the Protection from color? I would think it would be important for them to also get through unblocked.
Well as i see it
1 enchant a token with Breath of fury
2 attack with the enchanted token and a token producer
3 Soulbound the new token
4 Switch the Breath on the new token
Rinse and repeat?
And the idea of an hasty hero of bladehold got me drooling.
@Talonis
Nope only white creature you control when casting brave the element have the protection.

But as I understand, you can only soulbound again if the pair is broken by the first token leaving the battlefield. Breath makes that happen, but there no time between the sacrifice and reattachment for a token to enter play, so the soulbond won't trigger properly (it would trigger every other time).
At least that's my understanding of Soulbond.
And yeah, it's unfortunate the new tokens don't get protection, though at least your token maker will make it through unscathed. Would be nice to find an effect that extended protection to new objects.

Thanks, from just reading it you'd think it might work on new tokens, but I've seen enough other situations to know to ask.
@Snickelfitz -- Falter isn't a bad idea. Its good in the deck anyway. Not quite as multi-useful as Brave, but still very very good.
How about Ashling's Prerogative (is zero even?) or Mass Hysteria? I'm not a huge fan of someone being able to two for one your haste enabler. This way you can put them out on earlier turns and they are less vulnerable to being two for one'd.
Edit: I checked Ashling's says that Zero is even so only Brimaz in the deck wouldn't have haste on your side.
I could get behind one or two Hammer of Purphoros, but the Hellraiser is a creature which makes it vulnerable to removal and makes your guys attack each turn and this deck you may need to work for an opening. So I think either enchantment above is better.
I'm afraid of Mass Hysteria, Ashling's Perogative and Hellraiser Goblin coming back to bite me. Hysteria only costing is very appealing though.
The hammer is quite good, and I had it included originally, but Emblem is cheaper, and has better synergy with Hero of Iroas. I could see it being better in matches with a lot of removal, or when you need to be grindy.

Hero is only one card and you are risking the two for one that all aura's are. Mass Hysteria doesn't have to go down on turn 1, its only one mana. Perogative may have greater upside too in slowing down your opponent and keeping him from being able to block you.
All fair points.
I should probably also mention that I used to have Retether main, which was a consideration, but now that it's gone to board, I guess the list is more flexible.
I'll give them a shot, see how they do. However, without significant Aura discounts, Hero of Iroas does kind of lose his place in the list. Any suggestions on a worthwhile replacement?
Militia's Pride might be useful. Yes you have to pay W for each of your attack steps, but I'm not sure how many you'd need to win. And it lets any attacker pretty much be enough.

I had this built with Militia's Pride+ Forbidding Watchtower which combine into another endless token engine, but the two cards were just terribly unimpressive by themselves, so I cut them. They're a budget option if you can't afford Mr. $25, and a contender if the deck progresses in a more enchantment-based direction, I guess.
Tried this against a 4 color loam deck..
The vial is very fun. Especially when you vial a magus of the moon against a draw go deck.
Never went infinite but won 2-1.
The vial help dumping our whole combo in the table.
Aether Vial and Magus of the Moon seem super tech, though your removal of Idyllic Tutor might explain the lack of combo.
Was 21 lands enough with vial? I found myself drawing a few too many lands in my testing, so fewer might just be better anyway.
I guess 4-color Loam isn't the best deck to test the drawbacks/advantage ratio of Mass Hysteria though.

You are absolutely right we have enough token enablers...that do the job better Pride is an enchantment and not a creature.. So there is an argument that it could have a place, but it's probably better suited as a budget card and it doesn't enable wins without a lot of mana or creatures on the board.
Vial is an excellent idea for this deck. Genius, you don't need all the pieces you have, but you may want to put numerous pieces on in the same turn and that are uncounted able.
And i was not really a fan of the seismic stomp to get past blocker.. bolt and helix normally did what i wanted. Flickerwisp could do the trick....
I would like to try the Lightning mauler..
Also.. for mass hysteria it is great. No need to get it down on turn 1. Just drop it when you combo or play brimaz/hero of bladehold. The it's great value.
And... about faithless looting... yeah it can ditch extra vial and mass hysteria or breath... but i feel like it is card disadvantage most of the time. Can save light land hand altough.
It turn this deck into a Boros agressive token but it does feel good. Is it better than RW Twin? I don't really know.
Faithless Looting finds you your Breath of Fury. There are only four of those in the deck. This is a terrible Boros deck. It's really only a combo deck that might very occasionally win without Fury. Looting also goes down turn one and even later it's less likely to be counter than Tutor. You generally don't need card advantage in this deck, you need card selection, and Faithless looting is tremendous at that.
Hero of Iroas is totally unnecessary in the deck, so I'd see swapping in two or three Lightning Maulers. The only real problem is you need him and the token making Creature both to stay in play to go off. Maybe we want to play something like Frenzied Goblin, Legion Loyalist, etc.
I'd try something like this. We need lands because we need to make four straight land drops to play fury on turn four for the win. Ideally you might add more search lands so that you thin your deck and draw less lands, but having four lands on turn four is key.
Does Lightning Mauler actually work for this though?
I'm still not totally clear on whether there's a way to stack the Soulbound trigger such that the incoming creature gets both it and Breath of Fury.

You are right. You don't sacrifice the first Soulbond creature before the new creature you want to Soulbond comes into play. So it will work only if you have an extra creature. Yeah, I'll sub out a Ashling's Prerogative for the Lightning Mauler.

Not a judge, but I'm not sure we have a sorcery speed opportunity to equip. If we do its a perfect idea.
