I like Reality Shift in the board against decks with creatures that I just cannot win against or hope to block profitably. They work well against decks like Jund/Abzan, even Tron to some degree (for Wurmcoil). Really any deck where I think "If X creature gets resolved I will lose the game". Sometimes just having counter magic alone isn't enough.
Echoing Truth should be in the side I agree.
Mutavault is fine but it REALLY hurts trying drop a face up Shorecrasher with enough mana to protect it. To be able to cast and protect it in the same turn you have to have UUUU available. Mutavault makes that very hard, if not impossible, to do within the first 5 or so turns of the game.
GREAT point about Shorecrasher, but when Thing in the Ice drops that's probably what I'll be running in place of Shorecrasher (obviously this is pending testing!).
I'll be testing out some reality shift out of the side for a while as well.
Side note: I almost feel like this thread suffers because of the title - if it was just called Mono Blue Delver I think people would take it more seriously as the ninjas and bears felt (and played) more like a gimmick than anything.

I agree with this.
Thing in the Ice seems like it could be very good. It doesn't die to bolt and as long as you hold counter magic, protecting it could conceivably win the game. My biggest worry is that it forces you to prioritize removal instead of your opponent's threats which may not be correct and it can't protect itself unlike Elemental which can do that even if you don't have a card in hand. On the other hand an unblocked 7/8 for a turn is pretty great.

Part of the incredible value of it though is that it bounces all creatures back to hand. That's not great with Delver, but it's FANTASTIC with Snapcaster. The mass bounce allows you to not focus on the board so much because the simple act of flipping it is going to help you on board anyway. This seems like the EXACT card that you want to protect with disrupting shoal - shoal feels great when you protect a delver but even still Delver won't win you the game by itself (at least not very quickly) a 7/8 on the other hand will do that VERY quickly while also having better synergy with things like Probe and remand. So sweet!
I actually hadn't thought about its interaction with Snaps and Probe. I think Disrupting Shoal makes this better to because you can feasibly tap out for a counter spell to protect it and then free cast another counter spell to start removing counters very quickly.

I'm going to be making a mono blue delver thread - this one seems to be pretty dead as the ninjas and bears are regarding as simply a gimmick. Hope you'll join me over there when it's up!

What do you guys think about running mission briefing as a replacement for snapcaster in this list? It flips delver and the UU doesn't matter to us since we're mono U.

Yep! Here it is - http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/682395-tempo-in-the-ice-the-return-of-mono-blue-tempo-no
If anyone has ever been interested in this deck I'd suggest checking out the new thread as this one needed a severe overhaul.
