You don’t need amulet when you can play root maze, if you’re fogging why do you need your lands the turn they are played, plus it’s got so much more flavor. The look on your 4 color fetch heavy opponent’s face when they read the card is prob worth your entry fee.
Peremiter is a must to deal with walkers. It also will work through Blood Sun which if I played the deck competitively I would probably try out in the side. 4 swan song is also needed to stop blood moon.
Hello there!
After some testing(in a vacuum! on manastack) I think Amulet of Vigor is a nice addition to the deck, it speeds up our game which is needed if you get it t1 or t2, but it also provides speed in the mid- to lategame, because you can utilize Maze's End more often(in my list) and directly when it hits the field. Also as I see it, correct me if I'm wrong, you can use multiple Amulets for additional mana producing, say you have 2 Amulet of Vigor in play, and play Rakdos Guildgate, you put 2 triggers on the stack, resolve first trigger, untap the gate, tap it for mana, resolve 2nd trigger, untap gate and tap it again for the second mana. Is that correct?
I also want to try the 1 of each gate route and maybe pack some more burn or something for the free space, but I'm still not convinced it this is better, but I have to try.

Yeah, but it's really more "Disney Evil" than practical. It's like being a bond villain and giving a monologue rather then just shooting them.
If you want to play on MTGO add me I'm HeskatetAS, playing Modern and Legacy
Keen to see where this all goes. Always had a soft spot for Mazes end. On the topic of Root Maze: Why is it an "or" question with it and amulet? Don't they combo decently?
3 Molten Vortex
2 Crucible of Worlds
4 Gates Ablaze
2 Maze's End
18 Gates
6 Basics
Basically just trying to stall with Rootmaze, Gates Ablaze, and Molten Vortex until you can lead into Scapeshift and/or Splendid Reclamation for the win. Too bad Exploration is not modern legal. Need to playtest and determine whether the deck needs to add in cards like Explore and Rites of Flourishing.
The deck is still trash but beating someone like this is well worth playing the jank.
Problem: Maze's End requires 10 different NAMED gates. That means you'd need to be playing at least 1 of each gate with 3/4 copies of yoru main colors.

Think it makes more sense to go creatureless and blank their removal spells. I believe you can accomplish the role of those cards better by running the Molten Vortex / Scapeshift Plan / Splendid Reclamation plan.
There's advantages to running Azusa, Lost but seeking and Primeval Titan. Scapeshift if countered LOSES land where you lose no land with Primeval Titan and gain 2 land for his casting (assuming he's not countered) and get two more each turn he attacks. Not that I'm saying "Run zero Molten Vortex & Scapeshift" and personally from my experience having run burn, most people will side out creature hate for decks that don't rely on them. Creature based decks, from my experience, run wild over decks with mostly/all lands and seeing Modern is a VERY aggro/creature based format, I don't see the problem with running Primeval and Azusa. If anything, running 2/3 of each, can be fun when cards are blown to counter Azusa (you're getting 3 lands a turn with her in play) and Primeval allowing Scapeshift to be safer to get casted.
ON THE FLIP SIDE: If you or whoever is wants to completely creatureless, Boseiju, Who Shelters All to keep Scapeshift completely safe.

Also I want to have the Molten Vortex control more often because the games tend do mostly go with the slower route to use maze's end instead of the splendid reclamation.

Maze's End isn't a gate, nor is Plaza of Harmony. Also, if you're going to want to win by Maze's End more often, might I suggest Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Primeval Titan?
