I just want to point out that i think hammer of purphoros might be playable in this deck... but a big "MAYBE" since it is a haste enabler thing that makes Emrakul/progenitus attack right on time, and gives the token plan additional bonus. what do you guys think?

on the other hand, adding up a talisman might slow us down on the control side dont you think?

can be a great plan. eot tokens. but the problem with it is how can we draw into it? we do not have means to fetch it, and sinking to 4 ofs of this land is bad play. but we can still add 1 on the MB for a silver bullet surprise. great idea.

well we do have a UW talisman if you're looking for one. how was your testing and matchups against those tron decks? if we can race that deck, then it should be competetive enough against other decks.

so people actually play clone effects? thats sad. but we should have the upper hand against it since we are the ones who casted it first. so if they clone progenitus. they have a two turn clock against us before they lose. PTD didnt help at all?

I'm trying to put together a UW version of this deck. Can anyone point to a good deck list to get me started? Is there a better color combination?

I ran a standard Mass Polymorph version of this while Zendikar was legal. It ran spawning breath and khalni Garden to get Emrakul or Iona. I was pretty consistant.

@A.J. Gibson - the original version of this deck is really UW. it makes tokens and finishes with either emmy or elesh norn.

@wolftree - i thought it didnt go that well with peer through depths? well im happy it gave you success on playtesting. against combo?

for kikijiki and pod combos, i would suggest torpor orb and pithing needle.

for storm, i would suggest rule of law.

and th last, against anything that wins quickly, surgical extraction. or since this archetype demands a third color. if you would add black, extirpate and some hand disruption. if red is your 3rd color, i would add pyroclasm and through the breech. if its green, i would suggesst beast within (usually its krosan grip, but cards like that tend to be narrow, with so little effect)

by the way, what do you think about swan song? it can protect elesh norn builds so effectively. it also kills the token it prodices. for the lols!

i had a few results playing against UWR and UR tokens on paper. will post soon on the OP. thanks for posting on my thread guys!

it is fragile as it does not have token producing spells. ghost quarter and the likes kills the deck.

I understand the relevance of scry 2, however, condescend in our deck might be worst on late game than mana leak, because unlike U tron decks. it utilizes urza lands giving them advantage with the use of condescend. they can "condescend for five" but not tapping out all their mana. while we can only condescend for 4 and tap out all our mana.

now that im done with my main project (tron variants) its time to continue my second project which is polymorph. this is my new list of polymorph, based on the heavy aggro meta.



you see, im using forbidden Orchard to create tokens for my opponents to either cast a timely reinforcements or control that 1/1 flying token with vedalken shackles therefore creating an infinite blocker... and a fodder for polymorph... nifty? janky? i think its worth a try. a fairly new and wierdly awesome tech.

discussed this with a friend, he brought up a very interesting point, i dont know if it has been brought up before: he belives that proteus staff is strictly better than polymorph since when your target token gets removed in response to your polymorph, you lose a card, whereas the staff doesnt. maybe we could lean towards the artifact route a bit more?

We have no way of digging for artifacts in this deck (fabricateis tad slow). this deck runs 60%-70% sorcery instants and 25% lands. 5% walkers/creatures and others. if you will add proteus staff, it is more likely that you wont get it because of the strong draw/dig engine of this dack. namingly. Peer through depths. and just like what wolftree said. Polymorph is faster than proteus staff by 2 turns. thus, playung 1 staff mainboard wont hurt.

i've tried it on proxy and im not contented on playing staff in place of poly. have you tried it? if you did. put on a decklist and some matchup analysis.

on the other hand. based on your comment. i think you want to play a toolbox control... have you tried tezzerator deck?

Hi all, read the first post and skimmed the thread... and I couldn't find any mention of Khalni Garden

The reason I mention it, is because back when polymorph came out in the m10 coreset, it was the main way of producing a tolken to do tricks with, and I see some of the lists are running green.

If you guys want to run Proteus Staff, then I suggest trying a list that runs Ancient Stirrings as your main dig spell for Proteus Staff. It fetches possible creature generators such as Khalni Garden, Blinkmoth Nexus, Inkmoth Nexus, Mutavault as well too.

Khalni Garden has already been mentioned in one of the page. and yes it is one of the conventional way of making token.... but depending on polymorph alone is not very optimal. it is why people are opting for control with polymorph finish.

The way I see it though, if you run Ancient Stirrings, you need a more "colorless" build to make it worth the inclusion. I dunno if a polymorph deck can keep being a control deck if you remove staple control cards. Only control-ish build I can think of that for a deck w/ Ancient Stirring is to turn this deck from "UW control"-ish into UG(b) "Tezzerator"-ish.

I wonder if Blue Red can't make a good control version of this. The legendary kobold land is a good way to make tokens without eating up control spots from the main. Red also provides a lot of great sweepers for modern. Supreme verdict is better, but red sweepers are quicker which is often more important.

Red can actually add up some more win condition and sideboard option as well. there is a UWR build i tried but didnt have time to try it out competetively. you may wanna browse the thread.

well. you have a point. however, IMO, i would still choose faithless looting over the izzet charm. why?

Izzet Charm, has many options to choose when you cast it... which may be a down fall when you need CA and Board wipe at the same time. faithless looting actually can do both as it draw's you cards for 1 mana having a chance to draw a board wipe in the process. the only advantage i see between the 2 is, izzet charm is instant speed.

I'm sure there's a reason to take Peer over Visions, I'm just not able to see it right now.

the reason why we run peer through depths is because it lets you dig spells (5 on top is very reasonably deep) and not let you draw an emrakul at hand that will cause you delay for a few turns.

I have been playing the Intangible Emrakul version of polymorph for some time and I never get tired of it. I tried green for the token lands and control with minimal combo pieces. I even had a BU version with black for thoughtseize and other discard and removal and swiftfoot boots/lightning greaves and One-Shot-Robot. It ramped with dimir signet or talisman of dominance

The main problem I always had was that the all in strategies is that they were easily given grief by removal targeting the tokens in response to polymorph, discard, or other typical combo hate. Add in counterspells or silence etc. just made it a three card combo which was much slower. If they have abrupt decay then your counters mean even less.

Even though it is really just a mediocre white weenie tokens deck with 6 cards devoted to combo, Intangible Emrakul really has a much better alternate win condition should they hate you out. Not to mention you have a bunch a creatures to hold back and block while your Progenitus does his job. Problems are that white really only has path to exile and other effects like oblivion ring however vapor snag seems like a possible addition. I am trying really hard to keep it to mono-white with blue for polymorph to keep mana easy. My problem is that everyone seems to have illness in the ranks for splinter twin, so unless I draw an anthem I am kinda in scoop mode while they can run me over. Might be related to the fact that I play this after serious stuff is done but I rarely see illness in normal games. Burn and faster combo are also a pain but are sideboardable.

I was wondering if anyone had tried out any other win cons other than emrakul, the aeons torn and Progenitus. I was thinking along the lines of...

• Avacyn, angel of hope (to make our token little bosses bar path to exile)
  
• Ashen rider
  
• Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur (we can assume they don't have instant removal if they didn't kill our token. So any removal they play will be on their turn and they would likely be in top deck mode for removal, then losing their whole hand. Emrakul would continue to have protection but still Jin-giti could be relevant. So bar a top deck he represents pretty hefty card advantage)
  
• Craterhoof behemoth (mentioned before, requires more setup)
  
• Elesh norn, grand cenobite
  
• Blightsteel colossus
  

Here is a UGr version of the deck I've been trying to some success that is really fun to play. It is inspired by Scapeshift but tweaked to become a powerful, versatile Poly deck.

Tooth and Nail serves as a backup win con, with some ramp the deck can wait to get up to 9 mana or if you have a fatty in hand play one for only 7.

The deck features 13 token generators (not counting Beast Within which can be used in extreme situations) so having Poly targets is never really a problem. Dryad Arbor is basically a tutor-able token here as she can be found with the Misty Rainforest or Farseek so although she has the problem of being a creature you can find her when you want and Poly off of her, make sure to wait till you have seen her before you do though. Garruk Wildspeaker and Growth Spasm both serve as ramp in addition to making tokens to help fuel the secondary win-con.

In addition to finding the Arbor Farseek is a solid ramp card which can help fix mana though the duals it can find. Peer Through Depths is the best dig card as discussed earlier in the thread as it can go 5 deep and make sure you don't accidentally draw a Poly target. Cryptic Command and Izzet Charm both provide versatile disruption with counters, dig and removal. Remand and Pyroclasm both provide a lot of disruption for their cost and can keep you alive long enough to combo off and win.

The sideboard is pretty generic right now to fit the meta but can be tweaked accordingly. Additionally you can include Silver Bullet creatures to play with Tooth and Nail to help win certain matchups.
