OH! And for anyone running Blood Moon or Magus... rules change incoming to be ready for. Lands entering under Blood Moon enter untapped as a Basic Mountain. No Vesuva or other tricks. Outside of Modern this does affect cards like Dark Depths so one could play Moon, play Depths, ditch their own Moon and have a 20/20 death stick. Be aware of the new rule. I have not explored yet if this can be abused with other Modern legal effects yet.

First Strike
When Dire Fleet Daredevil enters the battlefield, exile target instant or sorcery from an opponenty's graveyard. You can cast that card this turn and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color. If that card would be put into a graveyard this turn, exile it instead.

How often do you feel flooded from the 22 lands? I haven’t redone my list for a while but I ordered some goodies like Path of Mettle, Daredevil, and some other goodies. I may even consider finding time to test out Slaughter the Strong with a little Gideon action going.
Have the Seekers still been working out for you? Also how have Soul-Scars been for your list. I’m sure you like them for the same reason you run Volcanic Fallouts. Gotta love perminently -2/-2’ing your opponent’s board before swinging with Prowess powered dudes. Though Fallout does get in the way of Brimaz tokens and part of why I like PoM for some testing expecting somewhere to see some Lingering Souls tokens trying to clog up the board. I still need to get my hands on a few more Legion’s Landing to test how reliable one can flip it and get both the land ramp and endless supply of lifelink dudes.
Oh and especially with your similar focus on Prowess did you test Flame Jab? It was always a powerhouse when I was playing more. I only ever got to one store level even with Bedlhams but it felt great to get my hand low or empty to power out a lowered cost Devil and reload. Every late game land draw was live compared to back when I played more frequently i’d topdeck that land when all I needed was Prowess triggers, dudes, or a burn/removal spell...
Seeker proved ultimately better than Soulfire since he lives through mainboard fallout. Also, the "Boros midrange" idea I had proved better in Jeskai colors, so the deck became more linear in nature, playing as a more resilient aggro deck. And SoulScar has been wonderful. Bolt is less good than it has been n the past, and SSM brings it back into the realm of "competitive" removal.
With the 4 drops,I have generally found I need 22 land. (Granted, I could just board my Planeswalkers, but they do well locally and they're 'pet cards' of mine. To give them up would be hard for me, since they've performed well over the years.)
Something like Flame Jab, Grim Lavamancer, or even the RW manland is a good idea for late game power. I'll have to try 1-2 of these effects in the coming weeks.
I also kind of want to try out Baffling End in the board. Pesky bigger threats. How about we just make sure they don’t come back and if they REALLY want a 3/3 they have to work for it.
That seems pretty decent. makes them exchange their Death's Shadow or Tarmogoyf for a target which is far easier to deal with, assuming they can remove the Baffling End.
Would it be better to sideboard my Fallouts and run something else main?
I might suggest boarding out 2 and leaving in 2. Still allow the “Gotcha”s but against the wrong deck it becomes “1RR Shock is both and maybe lose 1+ of my guys.”. I mean it does nothing to Tron or Lantern etc.
I wouldn’t try the RW man land. Essentially 5 mana is REALLY high. I’ve started picking up some Hostile Deserts to try. Especially if I try the 1WW Wrath and want to try to clean up the board on like turn 5 or 6 and swing with a whole mess of freshly activated bodies. I plan to try the same in Standard with Vehicles if I can find any time.
Sooooo... Jace... Make sure if you run sweeper spells Volcanic is probably top choice again. Basically i’d Suggest being ready to go back to Twin erra builds. Sleeve up those Exquisite Firecraft too!
Other suggestions I'm running:
1. Rending Volley: Kills Colonnades and Quellers all day.
2. Sudden Shock: Because nothing screams "I win" more than an uncounterable burn spell.
3. Pithing Needle: Name Jace, Colonnade etc.
4. Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Gideon of the Trials, etc: Planeswalkers are harder to remove than creatures and they cannot be unsummoned by Mind Sculptor. Note: only run these if your mana base supports them. I've found that as much as I love Torch, she can't function on 20-21 lands consistently.
5. Blood Moon/ Molten Rain: If they don't have lands they can't cast Jace.
Eh, any of the more aggressive lists I don’t thibk need to worry about Jace too much. Firecraft is a must though and this sort of thing is exactly why I have Flame Jab to peck away the last extra points off anything. Sudden Shock DOES have significant play in the Jund or other GBx decks. Gotta be able to hit that Scooooze!
Also correct on the fact of trying to jam 4 drops off 21 and under land bases that are also fetch heavy. You’ll hit 4 lands but probably after the point Chandra was gonna DO THE THING! Same reason I regularly back down or out my Ajani’s.
Working on simply getting back to a working list. Both trying to assess what a working list looks like again, what’s needed in this meta, and what’s plausible for either giving a Taxes package for the main or the side. Also kind of want to try working Steppe Lynx back in. Haven’t gotten a solid idea of how Soul-Scar is. Might up my Flamejab up to 3. The Prowess roots of the last time I had what felt like a solid working list.
Are you in a control heavy meta to need 4 Firecraft main? I would think Searing Blaze or such would work better right now? Have you tried 1-2 Bedlam Revelers yet? I’m flip flopping between 2-3 in the main... The only time you get sad-panda’d to draw one is when you already have one in hand.
