Hi guys! I've been playing BW Tokens for like 2 years or so, it's a nice deck but finally I've grown tired of it. I'd like to play something else, but I don't know what. I also tried Soul Sisters, but I didn't found it very competitive for my meta (which is mostly aggro and combo).
The thing is, my budget is not really that budget, but I totally refuse to buy any Lilianas, Goyfs, Snapcasters and the like, so let's see if you can help me.
Cards you already own: Nothing of value or use. Total card collection <500 and most cards are only limited playable
Colours you like to play: Any colour but with a preference towards blue
Style you like to play: control, combo, and aggro.
Budget you have: $100 USD but budget is flexible
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to: FNM (Looking to beat Burn, dredge, and G/W hatebears)
I've been thinking about building a budget bogles deck but the more I look into it the less reliable it seems to be without fetches, noble hierarchs, or spellskites. Thus I'm looking into other budget decks.
Cards you already own: Almost all cheap goblin cards(that cost less than a dollar),cheap leonin cards and some booster cards that aren't useful.
Colors you like to play: Red,green, black.
Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue): aggro and combo, mostly.
Budget you have: Around 15 dollars
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq): FNM and local tournaments.
Cards you already own:flooded strand x 4 , 3 cryptic commend , 3 remend, celestial colonnade x 3 , steam vents 2 ,hallowed fountain x3,sacred foundry X2,path to exile x 3 , ajani venjent X3.
Colors you like to play blue white , i think i got cards from it
Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue) combo / control
Budget you have 145
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq) FNM
Cards you already own: kinda have odds and ends cards, notable cards are: Anticipate (4), Echoing Truth (1), Goblin Electromancer (1), Elvish Mystic (2), and elvish visionary (3), blisterpod (4), Zulaport Cutthroat (4), Mana Leak (1) and Grey Merchant of Asphodel (1). I also have a large variety of big green stompy creatures, and eldrazi.
Colors you like to play: my preference is: Blue/Green (tied), White, Black, Red.
Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue): control, or combo.
Budget you have: I would like $100, $175 at the most, but I'm a college student... Can't really afford much atm :/
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq): fnm, please, not looking to be crazy good, something to just have fun with.
Cards you already own: Almost all cheap goblin cards(that cost less than a dollar),cheap leonin cards and some booster cards that aren't useful.

$15 isn't going to get you ANYWHERE. My recommendation would be to buy a deckbuilders toolkit ($50) Or a couple premade decks on amazon ($20ish) and then invest in some singles. This is what I did and I have a pretty good deck for around $80.

While i agree that 15$ are not enough to build a decent deck, i don't think that a deckbuilders toolkit is a good starting point. From my experience most cards in it are not even standard playable. But there is a primer about goblin decks in the developing competitive section (http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/developing-competitive-modern/220256-goblins). Some of these decks cost around 50 bucks if you leave out Goblin Guide.
Standard playable? This is the MODERN FORUM. I think deckbuilders toolkit is great because you can make decks for you friends to use as well, if you aren't going to events.
I'm looking to get into Modern, and with Eldrazi on the banning chopping block, I figured it may be a good time to explore my options.
Cards you already own: A lot of EDH cards. A lot. I'm an EDH player and have a ton of stuff from all the colors, but mostly single copies instead of playsets. I also have a lot of the commons/uncommons from sets dating back to Theros, which is when I decided to get back into magic after selling my collection a few years earlier.
Colors you like to play: Any of them.
Style you like to play: Definitely midrange. ramp and aggro as well. The most fun I've ever had from a non-EDH deck was Jund back in Alara Block's standard.
Budget you have: $50-$100.
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to: FNM's mainly. Eventually I'd love to play PTQ's, but I realize I won't get very far there with the budget I have.
Cards I already own:
Some staple removal in the format, some rares but mostly alot of "junkrares" from "RtR to present Standard" that I like to play around with.
Not so many lands but I have almost all staples for Gifts Ungiven including the bombs(Norn, Iona, Griselbrand, Terastodon). Also alot of cards from Theroes-RtR Standard.
Colors I like to play:
I enjoy everything but prefer Black. Do not want to play mono tho.
Style I like to play:
Everything, mostly rogue but everything really goes.
Prefer weird gimmicks and the element of surprise.
Budget I have:
50-100$
Level I want to play at:
Casual-Kitchen table but also FNM style.
Perhaps R/B bloodcrank? Or U/B duskmantle, those are rather wonky combo decks in black. You can even combine then into a Grixis Crank deck if you wanted.
Cards you already own
nothing that is relly good for modern
Colors you like to play
Red and White (the best collars)
Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue)
aggro/fast combo
Budget you have
$100-150
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq)
a casual store event
Cards you already own
Many commons/uncommons from Zendikar, Scars of Mirrodin. Bolts, Dismembers, Wall of Omens, etc Colors you like to play
My favourite color is blue. I really liked UW Control when i played standard. Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue)
Combo > Control > Midrange > Ramp > Rouge > Tempo > Agrro Budget you have
Around $100-$150 Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq)
FNM
UW Control or UW Titan (only 100 Tix!) is a pretty fun deck, and really cheap. Wall of Omens is used there. It may be what you're looking for.

On something that cheap a kind of Boros lockout deck may be what fits. If not then a RW aggro deck like this one. There used to be a suprisingly fast RW Landfall deck (that is found in the Boros primer I linked) which plays like an aggro-combo deck.
Use the "budget" subforum of modern for this question. Welcome to MTG salvation!

Yes, I am a local area mod. WELP. GOOD LIFE CHANGES ALL HAPPEN AT ONCE AND SOME ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE
Primary Decks:
Modern: Esper Draw-Go
Legacy: RUG Lands
EDH: Sidisi turn-3 storm
Disclaimer: At the moment and for the foreseeable future I am playing mtgo.
So basically, reading trough the different sources I have figured out that modern might be the right way to go for me. I am currently playing pauper quite actively and was thinking about building a standard deck, but as I understood, the standard has a relatively fast rotation of cards and is not as balanced as modern is. So anyway, I am planning to build up a deck to participate in leagues and compete with the meta.
I know that there is a special thread for building decks, but this is not exactly a deck building thread ( ). Now I figured that since I don't want to flush ~300bucks for a deck right away, I should choose some sort of basis budget deck and build it up slowly. What I am thinking about are either some Zoo, Boogle or Elf deck, because they seem to have a relatively cheap basic cards that has some utility, but also some high end cards that can be added later. In the beginning I would like to have my investment at around 50$.
Now, is this approach any good in order to start playing mtg competitively? Or should I not even look at the budget deck options but go straight for the big guns? Maybe you can advice some other decks that have their bread and butter cards relatively cheap and competitive?
See the attachment for the rares that are in my collection, apart from that, bunch of freebies from trade bots in mtgo. Nothing much, but maybe worth mentioning
Colors you like to play
Pretty much anything with good synergy but Black, Green and Blue would be the top ranking colors, however, I have nothing against Red as well.
Style you like to play (control, combo, aggro, midrange, tempo, ramp, rogue)
It would probably be control/midrange/combo something there. Rogue sounds cool as well. I like to dash out some cool moves - make my opponents think, make them do mistakes, and die.
Budget you have
I want to start with about 50$, but be able to build up the deck into a powerhouse eventually.
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq)
For starters I'm playing mtgo and would like to participate in leagues, maybe daily tournaments. In a word - competitive.
Thanks!
Merged with the What Deck Should I Play Since I'm on a budget? thread, but I see you've already posted here. Still, it provides some better context
Super cheap MTGO deck can be found here. Browse through them and see if there are any you like. Most of them probably have the capabilities to 3-2 a league if you are playing and drawing really well, so you will get your entry cost back each time and be able to play (almost) forever.

Hello guys, I am looking for a budget deck to play. Modern is not my format of choice anymore, I just want something cheap and fun.
I play miracles in legacy, so I following as staples:
playset of Flooded Strand, Scalding Tarns, 1 Arid Mesa, 3 Snapcaster Mage, 3 Vendilion Clique(would love to play this card), 2 Cavern of Souls, 1 Cryptic Command. And that's about it... I don't really want to skew towards control since I won't buy Ancestral Visions no matter what.
Any tips? Don't really have a budget, I just want some suggestions

Cards I already own
Playsets of Windswept Heath, Wooded Foothills, Bloodstained Mire, Godless Shrine, Blood Crypt, Stomping Ground, Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, Path to Exile. Also other playable stuff like 3x Thundermaw Hellkite, 2x Tasigur, the Golden Fang, 4x Courser of Kruphix, 2x Chandra, Pyromaster, 3x Stony Silence, 4x Serra Ascendant.
Colors I like to play
Everything but blue. I set blue aside right from the start, so currently I don't have anything to play it.
Style I like to play
Mostly midrange-control and sinergy decks. I hate combo, and I'm not a fan of balls-to-the-wall aggro.
Budget I have
Around 250 euros, 300 max.
Level I want to play
Mostly FNM, but also small tournaments in other cities and the ocassional PPTQ.
Never heard about such deck. I'll check it, thanks for the suggestion.
EDIT: Well, as I see it's basically a combo deck. Not really what I was looking for, but thanks anyway.
