I am not looking to make a budget version of an existing tier 1 deck. Meaning I don't want to play anything like a poor man's Jund/Dredge/Infect. I also do not want to buy Zendikar Fetches.

Casual/FNM. FNM would be rather competitive though, meaning generally most people there would have tier 1-2 decks. Not looking to dominate but I'd like to compete.
Hello fellow budget modern players! I hope that you can assist me in finding a deck to start playing modern.
Card I own: Origins Painlands, Kaladesh fastlands, Some BFZ/OGW lands (Prairie Stream, Wandering Fumarole, Needle Spires), Torrential Gearhulk, Thing In The Ice, Ghostly Prison. (Also I have a friend with a whole bunch of old cards. He has sold most of the extreme $$$$ (Dual lands, Power 9, etc) but he might have some old staples. Ex: Lightning Bolt)

Style I prefer to play: Tempo, Rogue, Control, Aggro (In That Order)
Budget I have: My budget is around 70-120 dollars USD

I posted this in the main what deck to play but i will post it here as well.
returning to the game after 3 years and do not have many cards to speak of
I'd like another deck to work on. My LGS also has few players, mostly 8-10 every FNM, and I don't want to play a deck that gets wrecked by board wipe every time.

well, since you could play Abzan Company since is similar to Cocos elves, but less combo and more resilient (Coco into eternal witness, persist, sin collector SB, etc).
go budget with some cards (manabase mainly, including noble hierach) and you should be OK
Living End/dredge are also good choices if you want to beat board wipe.
Hello. I started playing MTG about a month ago. Some friends gave me some cards of various colors. i also bought boosters. I have a standard deck but I like to start playing modern.

[b]Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to (causal, fmn, ptq)?
I would like to play in FMN. But the people have very strong decks.
I'm in a place where people got tired of standard and only modern events fire of as of late. The modern scene here is quite vibrant and I'd like to play with them without breaking the bank. I do have some casual decks I use to play with my friends so I might have some useful cards.
Colors you like to play:
Black, White and Blue (I mostly play blue in EDH)
Style you like to play:
Midrange, Tempo and Control
At this point, I'm just confused whether to go tokens or eldrazi. Eldrazi seems somewhat resilient but my cards are pointing me more towards tokens. Decisions...decisions...
Anyway, the meta here consists mostly of the following: Infect, Jund, Burn, Tron, Affinity, Elves, and some others
Budget you have: $100, but willing to trade out some of my expeditions and masterpieces for cards I need
Level you want to play at, or aim to build up to: Just FNM for now.

Preferably control or something with a lot of decision points, but by no means necessary, i don't mind playing combo or aggro. A deck with as few disadvantaged matchups as possible, i would rather have 0-2 unwinnable matchups, than 4-5 35-45% matchups against tier 1-2 decks.
Budget:
$375 to start,with $35 a month to add.
Level of play:
i am looking for the most powerful deck i can build for my budget. I want to build up to travel to GPs by the second half of the year, and my FNM is very competitive. The power level of the deck matters more to me than the style of play and colors. This will almost certainly be the only modern deck i will build, at least for the rest of the year, so i want a deck that is unlikely to become obsolete or unable to compete in certain metas.
the cheap jundish deck (midrange with disruption), is not as flexible as a GBx manabase, but as good and at 1/4 the price.
If you go with the eldrazi version, you could then move very slow along other eldrazi strategies (tron eldrazi or bant eldrazi for example).
good old elves, the classic aggro/combo, as the other iconic tribe (merfolk, sorry goblins) dissapear of the meta...and then won something out of nowhere.
if you like Chord of Calling and Collected Company, go with this. you could later buy slow the abzan collected company deck.
why play something else if you could play pure combo!, this deck is old and new....the pyromaster ascension version died but the gift/cost reduction deck born, dont know if will survive, but is the strongest (of the 3 decks) at the moment, is a gamble, that could pay off very nice (i remember when i bought splinter twin back then because is was the new funny combo tier 3 deck...lol i´m old). worst case a RU manabase could later jump on some other strategies, blue moon, grixis control/delver, Jeskai Saheeli, etc).
people could recommend mono blue tron but i would stay away of that deck...because right now you NEED 4 chalice of the void and at least 1 snapcaster mage and is not that cheap deck anymore...
Cards You Own:
EDH player with a lot of good singletons. Mana: 1x of every Shocklands, 1x of every allied fetch(+Breeding Pool. Modern Staples: 4x Path to Exile
Colors You Like to Play:
I like them all but probably Blue, White, and/or Black in 60 card formats.
Style you like to play:
Midrange or Control. The deck I've been cutting my Modern teeth on is Blistering Rage so I don't want something as aggro or all in. Also, I want a deck that can be upgraded over time.
Budget: ~$80 to spend right now. Will be able to spend more in the future but how much and when will be dictated by my wife and kids.
Level: FNM Competitive. And what I mean by FNM competitive is a deck I can take to the store and put up a fight with at least.
Cards I Own
I don't own any cards of much value for modern (x_x), except one Collected Company.
Colors I like
I don't have a favorite color, but the deck has to have at least 2 colors (wish I could do 3, but mana base would be too pricey).
Styles I Like
I really like tempo, but control and midrange are also ok. Combo and Ramp are both boring to me, and aggro is sometimes too mindless for me (I know there are exceptions but this is in general). I really like the Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek combo, as it isn't a "you win" combo, and it can also be put into a control shell.
Favorite Cards
I like the aforementioned thopter sword combo, and I also kind of like Gifts Ungiven, so I am considering taking an esper thopter gifts deck and cutting down on the price somewhat (who likes Engineered Explosives anyway?).
Budget:
preferably under $200, around $150 would be nice, but I can go up to $250. Having a fun deck is more important than a cheap one.
Level of Play
Mostly just for casual play, nothing more than friday night magic level. It has to be able to beat Mardu Vehicles at least.
All the KTK fetches, all the shocks, 4x Wurmcoil, 1x Noble Hierarch, 2x Spellskite, 1x Mox Opal, 2x PrimeTime, 4x Thoughtsieze, 1x Ugin, 1x Emrakul Aeons Torn, 1x Fulminator, 1-3 copies of various other modern commons/uncommons such dismember, remand, path, etc.

why play something else if you could play pure combo!, this deck is old and new....the pyromaster ascension version died but the gift/cost reduction deck born, dont know if will survive, but is the strongest (of the 3 decks) at the moment, is a gamble, that could pay off very nice (i remember when i bought splinter twin back then because is was the new funny combo tier 3 deck...lol i´m old). worst case a RU manabase could later jump on some other strategies, blue moon, grixis control/delver, Jeskai Saheeli, etc).
people could recommend mono blue tron but i would stay away of that deck...because right now you NEED 4 chalice of the void and at least 1 snapcaster mage and is not that cheap deck anymore...
It is not very expensive and can be pretty good and is also highly customizable.
