I played a 33 player RCQ yesterday, a few notable things were 4 people on Izzet Prowess, 2 on blue tron and 3+ on Boros Energy. I was one of 3 frog tide players in the room, only one to top 8.
Round 1 I easily roll all spells 2-0.
Game 1 I just had all the answer but a slow amount of threats. Had to actually cast Kaito on turn 5 with spell pierce backup. I pierced his beseech the mirror on his next turn, he didn't do much after.
Game 2 I won with double graveyard trespasser.
1-0.
Round 2 I beat Izzet prowess 2-1.
Game 1 he made a tight play where he didn't cast his steel cutter into open mana. I didn't think he had it so I played a frog and got punished. Downhill from there.
Game 2 he mulled to 6, I remember the play where the game went uphill for me was when he cast a preordain with 1 swiftspear in play. I cast bowmasters in response, putting the etb trigger at his face. I put the trigger from his drawing onto the swiftspear so it has 1 damage on it, my army is 2/2. He still attacks into it and I block because I didn't think he had anything. He didn't have anything. Game 3 he mulled to 6. He leads with a tapped surveil land. I thoughtseize his creature away then snare his EI. He doesn't last long.

Round 3 I get rolled by Izzet prowess. Basically didn't get much going at all, he's a really good player too

Round 4 I 2-1 some kind of domain deck, with a valakut package
Game 1 didn't last long. He wins a tight game 2 because I can't answer everything. Game 3 I am able to keep him off tempo while applying pressure.

Round 4 I beat GW blink 2-1. He plays conservatively game 1 and wins. Took my fatal push off thoughtseize and rode small creatures to victory. Game 2 is back and fourth but I had good blocks and get there. Game 3 his draws were pretty bad. I needed to get a fifth instant in grave to cast an 8/8 murk. He tries to cast a relic so I counter it. I cast the murk and he's at 16 with just fatal push in hand so I need to fade solitude plus white card or land for his b=next 2 draws. which I do

drew last round to go 4-1-1.
I get paired against the player I drew with ion top 8 and he didn't want the invite so I prize split for the invite
Get rolled by titan in top 4. I had him at 1 but he pulled off the win. I mulled to 6 g2 and he had 2 dismembers for harbinger
I liked the playmat for this season but I care more about the invite
