Do you mean the wish cycle from Judgment? I remember Kibler created Red Zone 2k2 that used living wish many years ago. Would be nostalgia to see such things again.

As for hoping to be reprinted. Once again, come on wotc reprint the Terravore.. we need it in ponza.
Jup.
I would love to play Cunning Wish in Bug Teachings or Burning Wish/Living Wish in Eternal Command. UB would also kinda like Death Wish, since it can grab anything (for the low low cost of half your life ).
Furthermore, all but Cunning Wish also interact nicely with the new Teferi, being able to cast them with instant speed (and in case of Burning Wish the card you grab too) could spawn some new techs.

What I play or have:
Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
Definitely wish they would reprint Terravore, and Jokulhaups I can see both doing really great things. I have to agree with The Fluff, Ponza could use the strength of Terravore.
Anyone have an update for what the actual price of booster box is from Wizards of the coast ? The buy price online seems to be going lower. The resale price seems to be $185 right now. I've heard lower prices of $166. Some people are reporting that the LGS buy price for a booster box is $163. I'm still waiting to hear back on what the price actually is. It makes a big difference between buy 3 boxes or buying a booster case.
The pricing still seems high to me. This being a print to demand set with no premium foils in it is making the price point seems way too high compared to a standard $90 booster box. It's just bugging me. It's a 36 pack booster box, available in all languages, printed to demand, yet the pre-sales are running around $200 a booster box. Which is twice the price.
The preview cards don't do much for me. Cabal Therapist Can only pop off on your next turn. You don't want to play it turn 1. It's a turn two card that requires a second create that is good to kill. Serra the benevolent seems very pushed, emblem 2nd turn. Emblem worship.
I'm hoping I get the inside price later today from one of my friends. If I can buy this at cost that would be great. Otherwise, I might be leaning towards singles only.
the assumption since the set announcement was that booster packs would be more expensive than standard. this is corroborated by the stated price of packs on mtgo of 6.99, which is what the masters packs sold at.
the qualities of the set though (36 boosters, unlimited print, etc) also drove the assumption (at least for myself) that the packs would be in the 5-7 range. anecdotal reports from lgs owners or in contact with distributors threw out 160-170 numbers a good many weeks ago, and i havent seen anything different up to now. preorder prices look to be accordance with that, and profit margins will slim down closer to distributor price when competition/undercutting starts to ramp up
yeah it does look like a standard set that is marked up just because, and it is to an extent. its peaking interest because for a set that isnt bringing and modern-legal reprints and with newly designed cards, it begs the question on what could be included that has wizards confident enough the premium is deserving. is it the reprint value of yet-to-be modern legal reprints or the power, and thus attractiveness, of entirely new cards? my guess is a good mixture of both.

I'm pretty sure the list is wrong, since it says the urza lands, and I'm pretty sure we were already told that besides basic lands, there are no reprints that are already modern legal.
Personally, I think it pushes out a card type that is already not very common in the meta. Legends are certainly played in some places, but as an offensive tool Karakas is probably too much for them.
As for hitting your own stuff, I think that's fine, and a perfectly viable strategy and choice. Maybe it should have an actual mana cost associated with activation, but that's only a maybe from me.
I don't think so as the number of Legends are fairly few. I would definitely play at least 1 in Esper just to deal with Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Gaddock Teeg but if they can shut off my deck with those cards and Cavern of Souls, certainly they can deal with me bouncing their creatures every so often
It ends up just being another answer to certain decks but I don't think it ends up being oppressive. The main issue is the whole "better than a basic Plains" which is arguably true. But I am not sure if that is enough to deter them from throwing it in. It is a powerful card to be sure, but Modern is a powerful format. And it does open some doors with Mangara of Corondor which is kind of cool. And that "combo" is pretty slow already so I don't think it really breaks anything.
anyone remember if they said the buy-a-box promo was a blue card? or was it just that bit about one of the strongest cards in the set being blue? cant remember and dont feel like digging through the announcement stream.
as for karakas, yeah i would definitely give that card the head nod. it certainly isnt doing anything busted or likely to oppress any existing strategies to a noticeable degree. i also think modern could use some more utility lands with unique effects. granted we dont have wasteland like legacy to keep stuff in check as well, but i dont think we are anywhere near the capacity of what can be handled.

I mean Karakas would be just fine. Not like modern has a lot of Legendary Creatures causing issues.
Right now its biggest use would be dunking on Neoform decks.
not to lose hope. Just speculating.. if MH1 is a success. They might include Dack Fayden, Urza, Feroz, and some other characters who don't have a card yet to Modern Horizons 2!
Quirion Ranger
Cabal Ritual
Dack Fayden
Force of Will
Containment Priest
So Dack is already confirmed to NOT be in there, but otherwise I like the impactfulness of their picks. On the fence about Cabal Ritual and I don't see Force of Will happening but I would love it.
I really feel like they put Force of Will on that list just to make the video an edgy discussion topic. It's just frustrating to see the desire for a free counterspell when we don't even have actual Counterspell yet and the chance of them allowing both Force and Counterspell in at the same time seems abysmal to me.
But my bias is pretty clear too, so take that as you will.
