Black/Red sword seems a lot better than Blue/White sword. If swords in general are ever good enough again (And that new goblin seems kind of specifically designed for them?), this is a great SB card.
Without Stoneforge, they will continue to be as unplayable as they've always been. Feast/Famine is absolutely nuts good, Light/Shadow is a great engine for creatures, Fire/Ice is an excellent value engine and clock.
And none of them see play.
These new ones will be great for Commander and Legacy. They will be ultimately meaningless in Modern.
Not in Legacy either no. These don't even come close to the level of SoFaI (which isn't even a locked in main deck slot half the time).
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Tested Wrenn and Six in Traverse Death's Shadow today. Wrenn and Six did feel better there, even though her main mode there is still 2-cmc Crucible of Worlds recurring fetchlands--the deck appreciates the consistent life loss to fuel Death's Shadow, it also appreciates the considerable bump in land drops surprisingly much (better ability to Traverse the Ulvenwald and cast the tutored-for creature in the same turn, can finally hardcast Street Wraith, better able to play 2 creatures in a single turn), it definitely needs the help against go-wide strategies and fliers with her recurring 1-damage pings, and the ult generally ends the game within 1-3 turns and often lets you win the turn she ults, even when Wrenn doesn't survive the ult. (The ult is more lethal in TDS because you often have fat Death's Shadows and Goyfs the turn you ult, and those fatties often end up on blocking duty pre-ult.) Plinking enemy planeswalkers also helps. I did stick in one Nurturing Peatland, and recurring that with Wrenn felt great because TDS otherwise has no draw engines, but I never got the chance to Traverse the Ulvenwald for the cantrip land.

Most of the reason why Sword of Fire and Ice sees play in Legacy is because it's the better Sword of Protection from True-Name Nemesis. And TNN blanks the other playable equipment in Legacy, Batterskull and Umezawa's Jitte. In fact, I don't remember Legacy Stoneblade or Death and Taxes playing SoFaI before TNN came onto the scene.
The inclusion of the Swords makes me wonder if we may see the printing of a "fixed" Stoneforge Mystic that will work with the Swords but not Batterskull (e.g. a Stoneforge Mystic that only works with equipment that costs 3 or less).
I just realized... is Archmage Charm a cycle? Because if so I am very excited to see the other ones. They would be a great incentive to be mono coloured in a format with fetches and shocks

Wouldn‘t Coatl fit into Bant Company? Or Temur Delver together with the new blue toys?
I think Bant Company doesn't quite have enough (snow) basics to fully enable Ice-Fang Coatl by Turn 5 (although maybe it values a Flash cantrip flier more than I think?) and values colour fixing with shocks too much, and Temur Delver really hates the tempo sink Ice-Fang Coatl inflicts.
I think Ice-Fang Coatl does fit in UGx Scapeshift, though (it tends to go for the control route with Cryptic Command and a board wipe, it tutors for (snow) basics like a madman, and it desperately wants the cantrip), and I've been having decent results with it in BUG Wilderness Teachings (it really goes for the control route, fetching for (snow) basics is OK, it can really use the cantrip, it can tutor for it with Mystical Teachings, recurring it with Pulse of Murasa is fun).
I know there was once some play with Kuldotha Rebirth in a Goblins 8Whack like list. Maybe you could look in that direction? Use Rebirth and Engineer to get use of some of the artifacts and start swinging with Swords into your opponent with a go wide strategy that can port into a Swords strategy?
EDIT: I also had what is probably a horrible trash thought... Could you go for Blue Moon style list with Goblin Engineer, Sword of Sinew and Steel, and Liquimetal Coating? The use Spell Pierce and similar to keep your hack and slash engineer safe? Start using Coating + Sword to blow up lands. Coating also provides artifacts to sac to get a Sword back, you can fill extra creature slots with Warboss and Rabblemaster looking things.
EDIT again: Use Goblin Matron as Engineer 5-8 if you need. She probably costs too much though.
Seems like a LOT of hoops to jump through and a lot of bad cards taking precious slots. I'm personally moving towards some kind of UWx Mentor build thanks to the new Force. Jeskai Phoenix with Mentor in the side is already pretty fun. Would be an easy transition to add Force and baby Teferi. Esper with discard, pushes, and Lilis also seems interesting, or maybe just UW midrange. Either way, a free protection spell is exactly what Mentor needed to be a good clock that can actually come down on 3.
IMO, Force of Negation will not bump up the playability of Monastery Mentor or Young Pyromancer. Both of them are still too vulnerable to getting killed on your turn in response to the instant/sorcery/noncreature spell you cast after resolving your creature and holding priority.

Believe it or not, I can imagine some players to try Monastery Mentor with the much-maligned Force of Virtue and some white protection spells. White weenie has the privilege of using Squadron Hawk to negate the cost of using the Force, and flashing it in takes mentor out of Lightning Bolt range. All such a deck really needs to succeed is a Stoneforge Mystic unban.

Stoneforge doesn't need fixing. Nothing it does is remotely as powerful as all of the rest of Modern.

a fixed SFM or they could give us another version of Stonehewer Giant.
Midrange and Shadow decks nearly nonexistent in SCG tournament. The archetype as a whole needs an influx of good spoilers, or now needs more attention from RnD the way blue was given the past few years.

With more than half of the set left to go, I think there's still a very good chance we get some BGx staple throwbacks. Frontrunners include fixed Sylvan Library, DRS, Hymn, and/or Deed. There might also be some new spin on Goyf, Flayer, or Ooze as another high value/rate clock. Tons of cards left to help out the archetype.
I also wonder if they will print one monarch card in the set. That could probably create a new deck on its own, if it was playable.

I 100% agree !! I'm not desesperate hehe! Let's be positive and hope for the best.
I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

Deed wouldn't fix anything. I've already said it before, answers is no longer what is needed. It's super efficient threats and card filtering. Hym is just a powerful effect that sorta hits everything.
They havent revealed many black cards yet so I'm waiting for next week.
Reid Duke has some kind reveal, maybe some kind of fixed DRS, I think. That and a sylvan library that's fixed and good would be a huge win for me. Hym I'm not sure what would do, I dont know what a fixed mana efficient version would look like.

Maybe it's because english isnt my primary langage but did you mean that Reid Duke know some card not revealed yet?

I don't think Stoneforge Mystic is too powerful either. But printing a "fixed" version would mean they can be absolutely sure and maybe use it as sort of a "test run" of sorts for the actual card.

library crunched out, hm? That's extremely disappointing then.
I'll consider the entire thoughtseize category in dire need in modern if a bomb or two isnt dropped next week.
A worse version, tied to a creature, probably gets in, since that seems par for the course for the set...
