I ran it in a Jeskai Geist build but I haven't played in 2 years. I saw an older thread discussing it against Eldrazi, Shadow decks, and storm/combo decks.
I feel like It could be a good card to catch a bunch of different threats however I am aware of enchantment hate lol
This is not a thread to discuss how Jeskai Geist isn't a good deck. I play what I know and what I love
A better initial question might be, what do you lose to? If those cards and decks line up with Halo, it's a good choice. If you're playing against decks that swarm around Halo or easily remove it, pass. Also, beware of siding in and relying on Halo in matchups where opponents historically bring in 4 Claims anyway, such as KCI and Dredge.
It's pretty weak hate against combo decks. Usually you name their wincon because that's the only thing that can target you, but that doesn't stop them from comboing out: drawing their library, finding removal for Halo, then killing you with the wincon that you named.
Some combo decks may have multiple wincons, and worse yet, those wincons may make tokens (e.g. Empty the Warrens, Sai, Master Thopterist). You can't name Goblin or Thopter with Runed Halo.

good point. it's been so long i have no idea what i lose since it's been so long. So I assume what i should do is remove it until i have enough evidence that supports running it?

very good points! need to make sure runed halo isnt my only option
I think Runed Halo is great. I run 1 as a catch-all against combo and it works. It shuts down Scapeshift, it helps preventing Grapeshot in Storm (if you're a control deck, then you ought to have board-sweepers for Empty the Warrens). Against Ad Nauseam, they have to have extra mana to play Echoing Truth. The list goes on.
And against aggro decks, it shores up what's problematic. You see 3 Goblin Guide on the field ? Slam Runed Halo naming those bad boys. Terminus them ? Cryptic, bounce it back to your hand for another problematic threat.
That article just makes me miss Twin more and more. It was fairly depressing hearing them talk about accepting many of the miserable decks as "poles" or the format and making sure you have a plan for them.
Staying on topic, Runed Halo would also be fantastic when named on Pestermite or Exarch. Especially since, outside of trying to bounce with Cryptic or buy time with Remand, UR has zero meaningful enchantment interaction.
If you need to have a plan against those "miserable" decks, then they're well made and not miserables, just sayin.
That's an interesting take. Bogles is a miserable deck. 8rack too. Tron.
Just because they are tight, well functioning decks, does not make the games less miserable.
If your opening line is Leyline of SanctityTemple GardenSlippery Bogle you are not interested in a game of enjoyable Magic, you are interested in building a tower of enchantments on a creature that cannot be interacted with meaningfully, and you may as well not even have an opponent.

Spells / Blink & Combo / Token Grind / Dino Tribal / Draw Cards / Zombies / Reanimate
I think by calling them "miserable", cfusionpm means that (s/he thinks they're) no fun to play against.
