I like them as well but I also like Matthias and Ryan.
They are good, but real low key.
In stream news, Humans vs Bogles is mind numbing. I'm sorry, but if you main deck Leyline of Sanctity, and run Bogles, you have no interest in actually playing magic. Its worse than any gold fish deck that exists, it is THE 'i dont want to play you at all' deck, and I loathe it.
It's not easy to build a great coverage duo. Marshall is always solid on any format, and at worst he stays very humble in his analysis and always asks questions to the "tactical" commentator. Melissa has a great potential imo. She proved to know the format by showing off tricky synergies in some decks, from here it's just a matter of time and repetitions before both may build up a great duo. Plus her humour and behind the scene content can be very entertaining.
About the metagame, I'm impressed, I love that diversity.
it is THE 'i dont want to play you at all' deck, and I loathe it.
Several archetypes play that way in legacy and Vintage. It's part of the metagame. As well as there are answers to a T1 combo or TNN in Legacy, there are answers to Bogles in Modern. It's a deck Modern players don't prepare for most of the time, that's why it seems like a unpopular choice. Combo decks in Modern don't want to play Magic the way you like it, but it's part of Magic no matter what you say.
There is no combo deck, in modern, that is completely unable to be interacted with like Bogles is, that can kill you as quickly. At least not that I can think of.

I agree that the matchup isn't particularly enjoyable, but I totally disagree with your comment about Bogles players not having "no interest in actually playing magic." The beauty of Magic is that you can play all kinds of strategies in all kinds of metagames. The beauty of Modern is that you can play all kinds of strategies at basically any point.
That said, as I recently said in the State of Modern thread, the SFM ban is looking even more unjustifiable today than it did a month ago, and it looked pretty unjustifiable a month ago too.

hell, I play Turns and that matchup is about as close to a Bye as it's possible to get in Modern (with my build at least). I think i'm something like 12-0 in matches against bogles with that deck (although it does get noticeably harder if the player is running a significant number of maindeck leyline).
bogles is an easy deck to prepare for, quite frankly. saying it's "completely unable to be interacted with" is at worst completely misleading and at best really stretching it. It is true, however, that some specific decks aren't great at transitioning into the kinds of pieces that shut bogles down. that's just how matchups work though. Bogles has to be good against something otherwise nobody would play the deck.

Sure ktk, but that strategy is 'dont even look at me, I'm just here to play these cards, and you cannot stop me'.
Everyone is within their rights to play it, but ESPECIALLY if you main deck a leyline to stave off Jund/Discard? Well. /shrug
Bogles was fine in the past, mainboarding Leyline is an innovation that has just made it too difficult to deal with. That shuts off both discard and edicts as ways to interact. Engineered Explosives is the only card in the format that can do anything to them unless you can lock them behind an Ensnaring Bridge.
That's why it's doing so well. It didn't gain any new cards, people just figured out how to remove any semblance of interaction from the deck.
Lantern, Grishoalbrand, Ironworks Combo...are all poor matchups for Bogles. I do think that Bogles is pretty well positioned if they can dodge Company decks and their own deck's variance though.

Those aren't positive decks for the format either though. They don't break format rules, but none of those decks are fun to play against.
I don't know if that top 8 is good or bad, toxic or amazing or something in between....but it sure is STRANGE. KCI in a GP top 8? never thought I'd see the day, lol.

I want to see the top 32. If it looks similar to the top 8, we've got a major problem. It really sickens me to see a bunch of uninteractive decks at the top.

my sets of engineered explosives, ratchet bomb, hibernation, chalice of the void, worship, settle the wreckage, ensnaring bridge, liliana of the veil and a slew of other amazing cards against bogles beg to differ!
