One with Nothing , I know the line, it was good in an extremely specific meta when printed, but it's a bad, unplayable trap of a card'. That said, look at Modern, all of the oddball, uplayable, unique effects that nobody looked at twice for years get tested and people find crazy combo decks. This card seems SO ripe for breaking, especially in a format with so many effects that care about cards in the grave. Has anyone had a build that does anything with it? I would think hellbent is a place to start, or delve, decks that would cast this mid to late game, but what is the best way to abuse it? can it BE abused?

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.

See, the problem with One with Nothing isn't necessarily the idea of discarding one's hand. Plenty of modern decks would love to just dump what they have into the graveyard. The real problem is that the other options are so much better. Why use an instant that gives me nothing in return when I can get zombies for my efforts? Why just discard my dredge cards when I can discard and dredge them back all at once? I'm sure you could find a home for OWN if your specific goal is just to use the card for kicks, but it's a sub-optimal choice in every deck that could run it.
Pretty much this. Or if you are just looking for the effect you can always play Oona's Prowler 1 more Mana and you get a 3/1 flyer.
Main thing is how bad discarding your hand really is. There is no top no soothsaying in modern to set this up. If it said discard all but 2 cards or 1 card then it could see play.
You can use Mana Seism, Barren Glory, and One With Nothing to create a very fast, difficult to interact with alternate wincon. However, its mostly impractical and very luck based.

I would even contest that it would be fast because the deck needs to be able to produce 1RWWB before it even casts Mana Seism without help from nonland permanents. Ramp gets it out turn 4 and gives your opponent a whole turn to react, which isn't particularly stellar for a modern combo.

Stuff like rituals, Manamorphose, and Wild Cantor could make it reasonably faster. Probably nowhere near competitive, but I'd take it to FNM to mess around with people.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.
So opening hand, cycle any street wraiths you have to dig for dredge cards, cast one with nothing, madnessing call to the netherworlds for 0 to get back street wraiths to dredge a lot on turn 1? Upside: powerful dredge turn 1, downside: fragile and not redundant

Come watch me stream over at my twitch channel. I play Loam Pox, Ad Nauseam, and jank in modern on MTGO.
Should put hallow ones in there also. In case you get a ridiculous hang with something like 2 ones and 2 calls. Then OWN looks pretty good... Again not practical or redundant.
