So what do we have in the T8? I think we have 3 (?) Death's Shadow Jund in there? Plus Abzan Company and Merfolk losing in the quarterfinals. What else made it through?
Top 8: 3 DSA, Merfolk, Death & Taxes, Burn, Affinity, Abzan Coco.
Coco lose, Merfolk won against Affinity and it is in Semis.
As frustrated as I am with the over-exposure with Death Shadow, Sam Black has been playing some of the best magic I've ever seen, most players lose a lot of the games he plays in those situations. This is where you definitely see the huge skill gap in pro players and grinders
I'm one Top 32 away from writing a very strongly worded article about how bad reactive blue decks are in Modern and how badly we need to consider a few unbans. A few near misses in the T16 would complicate the picture, but it's not looking promising.

Ktkenshinx: I think that jace or preordain, even ponder wont help blue. What cards would you unban to help a color which indentity has been nerfed?
I've seen this argument several times today, and I don't get where it's coming from. Unbanning cards that are more powerful than Blue currently has access to (even being strictly better than a current staple in the case of Preordain) absolutely does help blue. Would it completely fix the problems Blue has? No, it won't. Is it a good step. Yes, absolutely.

3 really good pro players bringing Shadow Aggro, a deck that's 10% online since the bans, taking the GP by storm and everybody losing their minds. Also, apparently Uxx Control had a bad weekend.

Honestly, some of the coverage issues, sure, but these have been REALLY good games almost every game I've sat and watched. This Merfolk/Shadow game is tight.

Yeah, that was definitely some of the best Magic I've watched since Corey Burkhart won his Mox Emerald.

Vintage Super League?
I think regarding Blue, Preordain and Jace, the Mind Sculptor won't solve much overnight. But it is a start, just like Ancestral Vision and Sword of the Meek were "starts." Hopefully these will have a larger impact. (I won't be sad to see Serum Visions played less and Sleight of Hand go buhbye.)

Personally, I think they must unban Preordain and/or Jace if we dont have any Blue Reactive in the Top 16.
I dont believe we get Twin back so soon, so they will go another path.
Do you honestly believe either Preordain or Jace would do anything at all to help them in the current field of top decks? If they can bring back Wild Nacatl for being banned for a stupid, unnecessary, and ineffective reason, they can do the exact same thing for Twin.

then 2 dredge decks in the top 8 of brisbane.
