Energy Bob is neat, but you have to actually play additional energy cards to make it reliably draw you cards. Otherwise you will need to get a swing out of it first in order to have 2 energy to draw the first card. This makes it remind me a bit of Pain Seer in that you don't get the first draw until 2 turns after you played him.
We will need a few more good energy cards before I would consider energy bob
Looks a lot like a potential twin replacement. Not as fast, but definitely Combo/Tempo/Control. If you can slow down the linear aggro decks with Fatal Push, Path to Exile and counters, and maybe some prison effects, this just looks bonkers good. You can board wipe until the cows come home, and instantly rebuild your board while producing inevitability.

No idea because my favorite decks keep getting banned or having the rules changed against them

Seems pretty win more to me. If you have thopter/sword online and untap with 8 tokens, you pretty much already won anyway against like 95% of the decks in modern.
What about Bob's little brother, Jim? No one's excited with it? This is making my interest for E raise
Ehh, I'm not sold. When you evaluate a card you should examine the best case scenario and compare it to the worst case scenario, and figure out if the consistency is there to go best case more than worst case, or if the upside of best case makes worst case tolerable.
With this guy, best case is you cast it, have a deck that plays with energy besides him and can use his ability reliably every upkeep to draw a card. In this, he's a no brainer and better than Bob by a long shot.
Worst case, you don't have a deck filled with energy (because lets be real, energy has not yet made it into serious modern decks with the exception of cards like voltaic brawler who spends all the energy anyway) and you slam this guy down turn 2 as a 2/1 with menace. You net 1 energy, and your opponent sees a 2/1 with a giant BOLT ME sticky note on it, and proceeds to bolt/path/push him away. Horrible. Equal to Bob's worst case where he just dies to removal before doing anything, but with one notable distinction: Say he doesn't get killed immediately. Great. You now have to also attack with him, have him survive his attack, and then untap with him before he even so much as replaces himself.
Then, after that he draws you a card every 2 turns, unless you have a way to generate energy (which as I said earlier, just aint happening in modern right now).
So for my money, for a 2 mana cantrip creature, i'd prefer Elvish Visionary. (or just stick with Bob)

Screw that. I'm making clues. And more Clues. Add in Theraben Inspector, Tireless Tracker and other things that make clues, and by the time I throw out this bomb, i should be able to have 8 clues and win!
And Death & Taxes and Hatebears just got a nice upgrade with Renegade Rallier

Hatebears doesn't run fetchlands (and I doubt 4x Ghost Quarter are enough to reliably have Revolt online). This card definetely is a 1x in Abzan Company though.
Anybody else here who thinks it's sad that Wizards named the mechanic Revolt instead of something else? That ties it so hard to Kaladesh that it will be tough to reprint it in a new set (just like Investigate, which should totally be evergreen if you ask me).
Countless Gears Renegade looks to be a great card, Eldrazi Displacer can blink this guy around creating a 1/1 every turn or so. I can see this common getting some plays.

That guy is like a smaller version of Blade Splicer. Unless your Eldrazi and Taxes deck has curve problems, I'd rather get a 3/3 Golem every turn.

I suspect the point is that your opponent over-boards against the Thopter-Sword combo (e.g. Stony Silence, graveyard hate, Abrupt Decay, artifact non-enchantment destruction such as Kolaghan's Command) and fails to board against the Mechanized Production + Darksteel Citadel combo.
...oh, who am I kidding? Both combos fall to Disenchant effects and Maelstrom Pulse! And your opponent has 8 turns to answer all combined attempts at the Mechanized Production + Darksteel Citadel combo!
Need someone to do a bunch of test matches with Affinity to see how often you need to use Glimmervoid to pay an actual coloured cost because if that number is low, the new land Spire of Industry might be the better land to play.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.
Need someone to do a bunch of test matches with Affinity to see how often you need to use Glimmervoid to pay an actual coloured cost because if that number is low, the new land Spire of Industry might be the better land to play.
Unless you're playing a 1-of Sea Gate Wreckage, Affinity has no need for C specifically and since colored mana can be used to pay for 1, all I really see is a card that is no different from playing Mana Confluence in the deck when compared to Glimmervoid. Considering some of the tighter match-ups are the fast-aggro ones (Burn, Mirror), that 1 life might be a critical point (especially when Cranial Plating might demand a BB to win a game).
Darksteel Citadel generally keeps Glimmervoid safe and hence a superior option. Pretty much the only relevant hate-card that gets around both of them is a threat to the entire deck and should already be accounted for in many other ways. I daresay the critical life-loss is a more relevant drawback than most of the hate that the deck usually takes account for would be.
Worse than Reshape under most (but not all) circumstances. That deck is really tight for space, so I don't see what you cut that isn't essential - Chord of Calling it is not, because it will always cost you UUU...
That being said, it is better than Fabricate! No one plays Fabricate. For a reason.
Baral, Chief of Compliance1U Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Instant and sorcery spells you cast cost 1 less to cast.
Whenever a spell or ability you control counters a spell, you may draw a card. If you do, discard a card.
But yeah, this isn't looking like the medium between Snapcaster Mage and Young Pyromancer or anything. At least not with how the format plays right now. Cool abilities, though.

I like it but it really just goes in storm decks as a better goblin electromancer and that's it. We haven't had a mono blue creature come to modern and be impactful since original innistrad. That was 6 years ago....

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Storm probably wants 4 Baral, replacing Electromancers. I know he is legendary, but you never need more than 1 Electromancer anyway - nothing except Past in Flames costs double colorless or more (don't flashback Desperate Ravings for 2U, cast Past and you can do it for 1R). Sadly Eidolon of the Great Revel is still a thorn which Baral doesn't remove

True but he needs an entire dedicated strategy to work (devotion). I meant to say an all purpose card that is just a "good stuff" creature. Mono colors don't get those creature anymore. These days they all go in gw.
