Grapeshot is a better kill card for Cheeri0s than Reckless Fireweaver. You're supposed to play Puresteel Paladin early, draw a bunch of cards and Mox Opals, then Grapeshot for the win. Having Paladin + Fireweaver instead of Paladin + Grapeshot makes things awkward, as there are now 2 spells you want to play early and a limited amount of mana to cast both.
Self-Assembler now gives every color the joy of experiencing Primeval Titan -> Simic Growth Chamber + Tolaria West -> Summoner's Pact -> Primeval Titan. Sadly the Assembly-Worker toolbox is limited to Assembly-Worker (seriously, that's the name AND card type of the card) and changelings, so it's not as exciting as the things Primeval Titan could pull out.
Do any decks want insideous will? It seems like a powerful card but i kind of feel for the effects it offers at the cmc it is you should just play cryptic. Modal spells are always worth looking at though.

My Decks:
UG Merfolk RG 8-Whack BWG Abzan midrange GRB Living End UWB Spirit Control
GU Kruphix's "Hug Assassin" RW Kalemne's "Play Fatties and Hope for the Best!" BUGW Atraxa's "All counters, all the time"
Familiar's Ruse is strictly better than Disappearing Act in the Witness decks, since the "hardlock" only costs 5 mana (or 2 + Vial on 3) compared to 6.

What I play or have:
Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
I think Perpetual Timepiece might see a lot more play in Dredge than Reunion. It is the first selective graveyard reset. Imagine that it will give you more turns, removal, Narcomoebas, Insolent Neonates etc back that you might otherwise never gotten back. This and the ability to Shriekhorn each turn.
a two mana dig 4 by turn 3 is bad. The return of cards is also pretty win more. Dredge wants an enabler and dredge starter.

What? Perpetual Timepiece does literally nothing in Dredge, what it wants to put creatures in the yard, not in the library (and I don't think you are referring to putting a random dead Neonate or Narcomoeba in the library again because that obviously does nothing either lol). I think you may have confused the deck.

Perpetual Timepiece is worse than just about anything else you could play in Dredge. Worse than Shriekhorn because it costs 1 more mana. Worse than Memory's Journey because it can't be casted from the graveyard. Cathartic Reunion is going to see much more play than Perpetual Timepiece.
The madcap experiment combo might be good in Jeskai Nahiri as a sideboard piece. It acts as a nice way to deal with decks like dredge sine they don't have many solid answers to it.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
Yeah. Its one of those one trick ponies. We can "draw" half the deck to get it. But against nahiri, we dont side in grudge because theyll use rest in peace and anger.
But if it became known and big they side it, we can counter it easy game 3
I really want to run it in a Naya Tempo shell. I think turn 2 Emperion is unreal if you can protect it with white protection or Restoration Angel or other nonsense like that. It's a busted thing to do in decks that already run the Kiki or Nahiri Kill.
Still I think the Madcap Emperion combo might be very interesting to shake up the hate plan from your opponent's sideboard. However most decks have a maindeck solution for this problem. This should nonetheless not be of any concern. It is all about: Can your deck get some use out of a 8/8 on turn 4? You won't be able to fetch, shock or use abilities tike the one from Griselbrand. This means that your game planshouldn't get disrupted by the parts of the combo. You should also have a way to discard the Emperion for Value, have no other artifacts in the deck etc. This is a package that maybe fits right on Jeskai Nahiri.
@Lantern: would any form of Zoo want this combo? At least I can imagine it being fun in a Ponza deck. T2 Emperion sounds good.
I brought it up, but people seem to be not so keen on it. I'd run it as a curve topper to test. I have a feeling it would be good in zoo there. If I was told my zoo deck could run an 8/8 for four, Id run it recardless of downside. If any deck likes the body on that thing, its zoo.

Karsten mentioned it in titanshift. Thoughts? I think it's pretty efficient. Not great against BGx but if you're not all in on it, it could give you another dynamic. Hail Mary in some match ups (Yogg- for the hearthstone players ).
I would definitely enjoy to see someone go for it and get Hallowed Moonlighted in response though

I'll emphasize again: Game 1, Dredge has Life from the Loam into Conflagrate to kill Platinum Emperion. (In testing, Dredge manages to kill Emperion fast enough with Conflagrate more than half the time.) I doubt we board out all Conflagrates in Game 2 because it's a finisher that doesn't depend on combat damage.
I think Titanshift is actually a dodgy deck for Madcap Emperion because Emperion prevents cracking your fetches and making your shocks ETB untapped, so your ability to win the game is somewhat slowed down with Emperion out. (Then again, all Emperion can do is stand tall and look pretty--i.e. not attack--if the opponent has a big enough army on the other side.)

I mean stubborn denial protects Emperion super well as does blood moon. He also survives anger of the gods super well. Your one out isn't a solid answer to it whatsoeveer.

Man, I'm usually an optimist who sees quite a few potential Modern playables each set, but this one I got nothing, lol. The fast.ands, obviously but apart from that... I'm curious about the 3 mana artifact that bolts for energy, could be a ton of card advantage in a Gitaxian Probe type deck, but I don't know if its even good at three. About other atuff.. well, Madcap and Emperion seems janky at best, mainly cause you mist play 3-4 so you don't draw them (Nahiri doesnt have this problem cause it synergyzes so well with Emrakuls shuffle and its annoying even for the to draw emmy, imagine drawing 3-4 emprions, lol), and Emperion doesnt even win the game at all, is vulnerable to artifact hate and all hard removal, doesnt let you fetch, get untapped duals, phyrexian mana, etc etc etc
Besides that, anybody see anything Modern playable?
If it was super easy to immediately figure out what was playable and where then I think Wizards is doing a terrible job or someone in the community is a savant. Things are going to take time to shake out, especially with cards that are a fairly radical departure from typical design norms.
Also, I think the times when we will continue to get strictly better 'good stuff' cards is now over. Most of the relevant design space for eternal formats has been as mined out as it's going to get if it has to go through standard. You can only improve on cards like Terminate, Lightning Bolt, Abrupt Decay, Maelstrom Pulse, etc. for so long.

Emperion wants to be in a blood moon deck, why are you playing 3-4 emperions when you only need 2, not every deck runs great removal so this can stall your opponent at the very least, you can put Emperion on top of your deck via academy ruins/sequestered Stash (new card) then crack a fetch to shuffle them if you aren't playing blood moon, Gaea's Blessing/blightsteel colossus/Memory's Journey also shuffles your graveyard into your deck. It may sound janky, but keep in mind that Amulet bloom/Twin sounded janky before they took off too.

Really interesting power creep and retreat in this set. Gives you a lot of insight into R&D.
Proactive cards get better, reactive cards get worse unless they're protecting creatures, because magic is all about creatures derping into the red zone and superfriends superfriending.

Revolutionary Rebuff = weakened, conditional Mana Leak
Glimmer of Genius = Inspiration + Scry 2 + 2 energy
Harsh Scrutiny = Ostracize + Scry 1
Blossoming Defenses = better Ranger's Guile
Kujar Seedsculptor = slightly bigger Timberland Guide
At the very least all I have to worry about getting is a play set or two of UR Fastlands.
