Pro Team coming in and sweeping up DFW meta...
Good for the pros sad for my area, I went 0-2 -> drop, playing Bant Eldrazi, faced Lantern Control round 1... knew my day was going to suck, then faced the mirror... and got awful draws while he ripped the perfect hand against the mirror. Started 0-4 on games and decided not to punish myself any more. The twitch chat was saying the Zur deck started strong, but he lost like all his games after the deck tech. I will say the tables they used blew; they really crammed us in, each table was a line of overlapping playmats and if you moved wrong you elbowed the player next to you.
If you mean that team with the horrible jerseys that includes Jim Davis and Andrew Jessup, they're not a "Pro" team. I don't think any of them has ever been on a PT, though I could be wrong. They all travel for the SCG Tour though, so you should expect each of them at any SCG Open event.

Jim Davis is player of the Year.... that sounds pretty "Pro" to me, if you mean by the strictest definition of a MTG pro then maybe not, but in general the players that constantly get wins and go to many events can be considered "Pros" of that sport/activity. I mean no disrespect to the guys, the event is competitive, it is more just sadness that they can come in and trash my area so hard.

He's not the Player of the Year. I think that's either Seth Manfield or Mike Sigrist. But I was wrong - Jim Davis did make 24th at a PT somewhat recently, so that's pretty darn good.
My record vs. BGx with Bogles is pretty close to 75% (48-16). (I keep track of this since just adding more fetches and 1 more Dryad Arbor changed a matchup from what everyone says is unbeatable to very damn good.) Pretty shameless plug, so feel free to give me a warning.

It was really interesting to watch a matchup that I know so well. I was able to see some mistakes from both sides, albeit minor mistakes, most of which wouldn't have affected the match. But you have to play to your outs. I also noticed some really good play from the Bogles' player. He is much more aggressive than myself. Maybe being from a Control background (the archetype I played the longest in my life) makes me more conservative, especially when I have a Leyline of Sanctity in play. Being more aggressive was good because giving an extra turn gives an extra turn to kill the Spiritdancer, which makes my conservative line worse.
I had a Bogles' player watch my plays yesterday in the final FNM round. He said that he would have played several things differently, although my opponent agreed with my line. I am tempted to side with the Bogles' player since he was watching outside of the game and my opponent lost, so he probably would think that any line I took is fine.

Funny enough, I had the best and most interesting games vs Bogles (at least in the Modern Format, if we include other formats, it would be the Solidarity Mirror).
As for the Jund vs Bogles match-up, it really depends on the exact builds. Sometimes Bogles is hugely favoured, and sometimes just eats dust.

What I play or have:
Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
Bogles is 56% favored (58 wins / 45 losses) against jund according to the MTGO data at MTGPulse. Junk, on the other hand, is favored against them (71%).
That's the thing. If someone has a card like even 1 Back to Nature in their SB, 99% of the time, they essentially have a 14 card SB. The card is not universal enough to be played in Modern. Stuff like Engineered Explosives is universal and strong. It can often turn the game in the opponent's favor, but an Umbra saves the Bogle and with more Auras, they can rebuild if they had a strong hand. Many people think that their 2-of Spellskite will straight up win the game. But often on the draw, it's slightly slow. Don't get me wrong though. I've lost my fair share of games to Spellskite, while having 3 Path to Exile and 3-4 Nature's Claim in my deck at the time. People just can't expect to face Bogles in a tournament.
Not to mention, there are easy matchups like Delver, Zoo, and UWR (before Nahiri).

That is very interesting. Are there any W cards which Junk plays, which are great in that match-up? I can only think of Path vs Spiritdancer and Lingering Souls as chump blocker, but otherwise, no idea.

What I play or have:
Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
I personally think those stats are rubbish, although admittedly it's more matches than I've played in official tournament play all together. It has fluctuated because the decklists have changed a decent amount (BGx decks), but mostly I've been more scared of Jund. I guess Siege Rhinos are tough if Bogles doesn't get life gain and Lingering Souls can possibly block if there is no Rancor or Spirit Mantle. Path is stronger against Spiritdancer since you can't just load it with Umbras/Auras like you can against Jund if you get past the initial Lightning Bolt. Whenever you play against any deck that has Path to Exile, you have to consider risk/reward with your Kor Spiritdancers.
Also something you have to consider when judging matchup percentages is the pilots. Bogles players are usually not the "cream of the crop" to say the least, whereas BGx decks tend to have good player gravitate toward them. Many new players pick up Bogles, especially inferior versions with 0 Horizon Canopy (most new players are not willing to pay $400 more to play a game they're not sure they'll end up liking). BGx players have played their decks much more than Bogles players in general, although obviously sometimes that doesn't matter. (due to variance)
*It's the same reason I judge Affinity players differently than most other Modern players. I feel that Affinity players have been on their decks much longer than any other player of any other deck in Modern. I'm saying in general; not every single time of course. I rarely see Affinity players take a line worse than what I would have done. When playing against other players, I see it all the time.
Jund is favored against Boggles guys, just not by a large margin, when on the play a T1 discard might as well end the game, while Lotv is brutal against this deck (i'm aware of the fetching trick but the dryad can be removed before the edict resovles), decay, pulse can also take out key auras often leading to goyf outsizing the stipped boggle and even killing it mid combat, in some cases you could also wipe him like: EoT2 decay an aura, T3 cast sweeper (if you run one that is)
that said the MU has HUGE variance in this MU and both the dice roll and specific individual cards like leyline, lotv, decay, discard the number of boggles etc can make huge impact on the game, it is also a HUGE advantage to know that you're playing against boggles so you can mulligan accordingly and not have the misfortune of keeping a removal heavy hand that hardly does anything in this MU
I run 8 fetchlands and 2 Dryad Arbor. I will agree that there is huge variance in the matchup. Sometimes turn 1 discard can be the game on the play. But you have to crunch numbers. How often will Jund be on the play, 50%? How often will Bogles not draw redundant cards, having 8 copies of Slippery Bogle and 4 of most of the other cards in the deck? Turn 1 discard on the draw is much worse. Discard and Liliana of the Veil are some of the best cards vs. Bogles, so they have to stay in after SB, but 1 of 4 Leyline of Sanctity in the opener negates all of that. This leads to the variance, just like a Jund player drawing targeted removal during the course of the game since they can't control their draws. To me, Maelstrom Pulse is nearly a non-factor. Here's why. The card is obviously amazing vs. Bogles, but many lists have gone to 0. Some have 1 at most. I've rarely been punished by taking a line that loses to Maelstrom Pulse early in the game.
I side in 4 Leyline of Sanctity and 2 Rest in Peace. It is true that there is a lot of variance and you don't know how your hand will line up with your opponent's, but I find the matchup very fun for several reasons. It's fun trying to figure out what sequence of cards they'll need to beat you and it's fun playing someone who believes that they will have a good matchup vs. you (from articles and stats everywhere).

Who blocks the Infect player's Hierarch swing? You're not losing to a pumped Hierarch, he's only swinging because he WANTS you to block. Bad play is bad, but great read by the Infect player.
Jim Davis and Peter Ingram at 11-1, both on Jeskai Control. Andrew Jessup also at 11-1 on Infect.
I'd love it if this tournament would help bury the nonsense about Jeskai Nahiri not being a good deck. I doubt it will but hey, I can hope.
Maybe that's me saying that Jeskai Nahiri is only close to Tier 1, but not quite Tier 1. Okay, I will concede the point because there is no use in arguing pure statistics. I think it also says something about the "Metagame Gurus" as well.
I feel like my bias is based on my meta having a lot of Tron (just recently), some Scapeshift, and random Tier 2-3 decks that beat Jeskai Nahiri. I did notice that the main guy who plays Tron and loans out 3 more Tron decks (usually 2-3 of those decks get borrowed by somebody) and another regular UW Tron player (very good player) both haven't been there recently at FNM and the amount of UWR has gone up considerably. There is no doubt that Nahiri, the Harbinger has given the deck a better win percentage against many decks that they had previously had a smaller win percentage against.

Juliano made some real bad decisions that game. Tarmogoyf block didn't make sense and there was no reason to go for the kill spell in the second game but he should play Tarmogoyf instead and he would won.
It was painful to watch that Seal of Fire play instead of just playing Goyf. What was more likely? That the Infect player was going to draw Apostle's Blessing to sneak in a Finks? Or that the Infect player had ANY pump spell to save the Finks from a Shock effect? QUESTIONABLE.
