I know Splinter Twin suppressed this card back when it was a thing in modern. With Splinter Twin out of the format is it time for people to dust off their Intruder Alarm's?
The issue I see here is that the combos you're suggesting are either slow, clunky, vulnerable to all forms of removal, or a combination of these. I also don't see how Forbidden Orchard would net you infinite mana, but regardless that would also require a third card for a successful combo.
Intruder's Alarm is a very unique card and I'd love to see a successful deck that revolves around it, but right now I can't see it working out.

You are right about Forbidden Orchard. You would have to play something like Voyaging Satyr or Kiora's Follower with it, which do have great synergy with Intruder Alarm on their own. I think Cryptolith Rite is an intriguing new card that could potentially help solve the spot removal problem and it plays well with it. And then maybe ramp into a Craterhoof Behemoth for the win or something like that.

For what you're suggesting, it's likely Modern Elves is probably better. It's a more focused strategy that can ramp or beat down, and doesn't rely on multiple combo pieces.
I think the card is viable in some strategies. The fact is that a combo doesn't need to go infinite to end a game. It just has to do enough to threaten to end the game, so things like intruder alarm and thopter sword, for example, could be used to end a game assuming there was something like a tap for damage creature on the field. The issue is that the pieces to make such a deck viable I think are only legacy legal at the moment.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
It's using Alarm as extra Midnight Guards to help insure the combo goes off. My buddy has since abandoned the deck, but I enjoyed playing against it. The biggest issue with Alarm is that it's usually a three card combo, which gives you many more targets, and time, to interact.
Without haste there's weakness. You need the enchantment, you need something to make clones, and you need something to smash. Much like twin except an extra card.

Some friends and brewed up something with this. The idea was to counter every creature they play so they can't untap then win with kiki and any creature or dryad arbor. It's pretty funny idea but I don't know if counters are good enough in the format.

You can combo out with Bloodline Keeper, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Thraben Doomsayer, Krenko, Mob Boss and you can get infinite mana with Forbidden Orchard.
I am just curious what people think of the card's chances in the current meta.
