If you have everything for Puresteel Paladin except for Leyline of Sanctity, I would say stick with that. It seems like the more powerful deck of the two.

You can make zombies by replacing marsh flats with another black fetchland, assuming you gave godless shrine.
I think the zombies may be more consistent, since i hear that puresteel paladin is more fragile.
Zombies gives you more flexibility to change decks to something like monoblack devotion, etc....
What type of deck do you prefer? Combo or the aggressive deck.

I am more used to play control in standard but Control is very expensive in Modern (snapcaster, manland, cryptic command...)...
You don't need to play blue in order to play a control deck.

I exclusively like control, both tap out or draw go, and have historically played UB control, namely Tezzeret and Faeries. I only have Faeries in paper, as I haven't gotten Tezzeret to competitive levels yet, and am considering moving to a new deck. Wouldn't mind suggestions!
Competitiveness is important to me, and I want to be able to take it to tournaments without it being a waste of time.

The best "control" deck is UW control since it matches up okay against big mana and does relatively well against most of the field.

I'm new to modern and this forum but a long time on again off again player. I'm looking to purchase cards for decks and do some trading and am able to put together either:
Scapeshift or
Mono Green Infect & Skred Red
I'm not sure which would be my best bet overall as I would like to eventually hopefully sooner than later take them to larger events.
Other ideas for decks within these budgets are also very welcome.

do you like aggressive, combo, or control decks?
what is your budget?
do you plan on upgrading to a different deck over time? (ex. budget abzan gives you alot of cards that can be swapped into other decks like thoughseize, path to exile, abrupt decay, noble hierarch, etc.... whereas a deck like merfolk does not)

I like the idea of having more than 1 deck, do Storm and SkRED have much that fit into other decks as well? They both seem to be decks that do well in the meta.
I also have the opportunity to buy the Modern Event Deck (token deck with Elspeth) for about $115 sealed. Would it be worth spending $600 of my budget on a deck and buy the event deck as a second deck? Is it good enough to justify the money? And is it upgradable enough to be competitive?

well, they have in common at least blood moon
i like a lot storm to beginers because is not that expensive , its good right now and worst case scenario you have a UR manabase with a lot of cantrips and you can jump to another "family" of URx decks (blue moon, jeskai nahiri, grixis control, etc), URx and GBx are always solid manabase choice in modern.
while i like the modern master deck a LOT to new people, i find that lose a lot of "oomph" at 100+ value. not worth it IMHO
Should I build Eldrazi Tron or Bant Eldrazi? I have not played MtG in about six months because I got busy with school. Last time I played, I was in the process of building Bant Eldrazi. "Eldrazi Tron" probably has better "nut draws" and gets more "free wins" as a result but it is a far less flexible deck and doesn't have Ancient Stirrings for consistency or any good removal (Dismember is only decent and All is Dust is expensive).
Another advantage it has is not relying on fragile mana dorks, not getting color screwed and playing better against Blood Moon thanks to Expedition Map and basic Wastes.

Burn, Zoo, Death and Taxes, Elves and Merfolk are good options.
Full time Modern player here, wanting suggestions for the upcoming Modern Las Vegas Grand Prix on June 16. Here are the main decks that I've narrowed it down to, but I am (somewhat) open to suggestions.
1. Grishoalbrand - It's the deck I've been waiting to run at a Modern GP, but have never been close enough to one yet. I've played this deck the longest and feel super comfortable playing it, but it sometimes just doesn't get there (ie. drawing 3 straight Goryo's Vengeance with 1 sided out after turn 1 Grafdigger's Cage or failing to find a Nourishing Shoal after drawing cards and going to a low life total against Aggro or just not finding Griselbrand in the top 3/4 of one's deck)
2. Titan Shift - It's a more consistent version of Grishoalbrand in my opinion, but not quite as quick as the fastest decks in Modern. I don't know if I should value quick (free) wins over consistency and less of those.
3. Counters Company - I've received a good list from a Pro Player and it is really good. Play testing with it has swayed me from something I would not usually consider. I didn't play Birthing Pod much, outside of just play testing against it a bunch. I played Abzan Company a bit off and on, but it's not really the deck I'm the best at. This deck is a bit easier, but I just noticed a mistake last night during playtesting where I could have done Fiend Hunter on my Eternal Witness and then Eldritch Evolution the Fiend Hunter away, getting a piece of the puzzle, and returning another piece from my graveyard. It may have been too late, but you have to play to your outs. I noticed immediately when I started shuffling, so it was too late to reenact the board state.
4. Ad Nauseam - It's just a really great deck that's tough to interact with. I played it late in 2011 when Modern started, but it felt slow at the time.
On to my goals. My goal for this GP is to #1 - day 2, #2 - top 8, and finally #3 - hopefully have a chance to win. I know those are lofty goals, but I know what I can do when my deck is clicking and I make good plays. For the past 3-4 months, I have been planning Grishoalbrand, but some friends seem to think that the deck can't top 8 a Grand Prix, which I know it has already in a different meta. They believe that Titan Shift has a better shot. Collected Counters is a new, really good deck that is expected in bunches on Day 2 and Titan Shift does well vs. it, so that is a PLUS going for Titan Shift as well. But the Death's Shadow matchup seems dismal, despite 3 Hornet Nest from the side.
I played in 1 Modern Grand Prix during Birthing Pod with a GW Summoning Trap deck, but lost 2 win-and-ins in the 8th and 9th rounds to miss day 2 (6-1 went to 6-3). I don't want to repeat something like that if possible. I should mention also that I will have 2 Byes, so I just have to 3-3 to Day 2, but realistically get 6-0 or 5-1 to have a shot at the top 8. I've done terrible on Day 2s of GPs, but most have been Limited, something I'm admittedly not very practiced at.
What are your suggestions for someone with high goals and not much of a chance to play at GPs?
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
I think ad nauseam is fairly well positioned right now. The matchup vs. Shadow decks is decent and against Coco decks is still very decent.
The big thing about ad naus that would make it my go to for a GP I wanted to do well at is that it's very easy to play at a high level for an extended amount of time. But in general I think ad naus is a deck that's more likely to reward an average player than a skilled player; I don't win 60=65% of my games against the field like a top level player so playing a deck that doesn't have a lot of avenues to misplay is good for me.
Whatever you do I would not play Grish. The amount of graveyard hate that's going to be present is likely to be unreal.
Titan shift is my second pick from your list as it's fairly well positioned against company and dodges graveyard hate. Note: I do think the breach builds are MUCH better right now.
If I was trying to spike a tourney right now I don't think I'd try to play a coco deck. It's going to be cage city.
You don't think that Ad Nauseam is too slow? It has tested pretty poorly vs. Collected Counters so far just by being too slow. It does have fewer avenues to misplay, but that isn't too much of a concern to me. Maybe it should be since I haven't played over 9 rounds in a day in a while, but I have done pretty well at Modern. At kavu.ru the last time I checked, my Modern win percentage was 67.1%, higher than everything other than my Standard and Booster Draft win percentages. This is despite the fact that I have run nearly every deck under the sun. I know Modern pretty well, but I am open to suggestions because often when you get overconfident, you miss a lot of things.
I am guessing that you're saying Breach is better positioned because of the speed. I have run Breach before, notably nearly the whole time during the Treasure Cruise Delver and Rhino Pod meta, but I like the added consistency of Titan Shift. Not to mention, I get my build from a famous Shift player, so I trust his build better than any build of Breach that I could get.
