Regardless of how poorly positioned the decks I love are, I've been playing Skred for nearly 3 years straight. I love the deck and always will, but maybe it's time to finally branch out a bit. I'm only playing at FNM, so I really don't care about building a pile of garbage and running with it. I want something somewhat affordable, so below $1k is where I want to be at. I've made a list of archetypes I'd be down to build. What do you think I should go with?
GW Aggro (Think Watchwolfs and Dryad Militants)
Some KotR Loam pile
Death Cloud
Hierarchless Zoo
I'm kinda leaning towards KotR Loam or Death Cloud.

Thanks for the recommendations, I might pick up amulet or jeskai. The big mana decks are normally eldrazi tron and amulet. Before asking, I was playing GBx and I was in a spot of winning just against the burn players, control games where just grind fests that ended always on them landing a threat I can't answer.

i can always get behind choosing jeskai :D. eldrazi tron is certainly one of my less preferred matchups though. post board angel package (lyra/baneslayer) does a lot of work though.
if im ever looking to expand my collection and get a new modern deck, amulet would def be on the short list (or a deck very much like it in this theoretical future).
your GBx comment is spot on with my perspective. the archetype has SOME good stuff going on and it CAN win, but every time i play against GBx on UWx now it feels like a whole lotta struggling on their end without the reward. i used to dread discard into lotv, constantly struggling to pull ahead on raw card count. now its just 'whaddup jace! whaddup teferi! lets hit up azcanta!'. snapcaster can finally rest from his burden of propping up the deck.

Yes, that is so true now. There is nothing you can do against a top deck Teferi and you can't find an Assassin's trophy before an emblem, and sometimes even get the trophy just to get it countered.
Took apart my spirits deck and am looking for a new deck now. Not really sure what I want and budgets not really a big deal. I want to take it to a go and have a viable deck. I’m thinking goblins with the modern horizons goblins but I don’t know if it will be any good. Or dredge, but I am afraid of bans. Amulet titan also seems cool.
Where I’m at is if goblins get anything that’s where I’ll go but I’m not counting on it. I’m the long term, does dredge or titan have a longer life most likely?
Although if anyone thinks that goblins could ever day 2 a go then I’d go that route
Dredge is likely the most resilient, as it is getting Nether Spirit and has persisted the years with and without Golgari Grave-Troll. The only card I could see getting banned in the deck is Creeping Chill, but that wouldn’t kil the archetype, just make it less explosive.
Titan is cool but hard to play. I’d say wait to see where goblins ends up after horizons and decide from there.

Note: Nether Spirit sucks in Dredge, it would be rarely the sole creature in the graveyard.
Otherwise, yeah, Dredge is a good deck. Goblins might need a major rework with the new cards, since a RB Goblin Aristocrat shell might the future of the deck.

Modern/Legacy
either funpolice (Delver, Deathcloud, UW Control) or the fun decks (especially those ft. Griselbrand)
normally been playing some form of midrange or control in modern. I played dredge a bit but sold it because |I did not enjoy or understand it. I play show and tell in legacy and really like it and wanted to build some kind of goryo's deck or the boaryos vengeance deck because it cheats the same creatures into play? Based off of this information would you try it?

I think Goryo's Vengeance, aka Grishoalbrand, is very strong. I played it for quite a while. You and I were the only ones posting on the Sneak Show Legacy thread, so I can see that you enjoy that type of Combo deck. But Grishoalbrand is a different beast. You have to be used to some variance, as we don't have Brainstorm obviously. If you can deal with that (the only reason I say this is that I know many local Midrange/Control players that have tried glass cannon Combo decks and they usually don't like them much), then either deck seems fun.
I personally wanted to try the Boar version, as it seems fun and the name, "Boaryo's Vengeance," is priceless. I don't know much of it, but I do know that when you "Combo" out, you don't guarantee (or close to it depending on your life total) actually chain Nourishing Shoals to win. The card advantage needs to be enough to win.
I would try it if I were you, but I'm very biased. Grishoalbrand gave me a 24-1-X record in my first month and a half of playing it, including a PPTQ win, so I'm always going to have a soft spot for the deck. I just haven't had the guts to try it in the Surgical Extraction era. I even have the deck fully foiled and used to have 7 Guru lands in the deck until I sold all of my Gurus. It is one of my favorite Modern decks that I've ever played.

I'm currently on the lookout for a deck that has a decent Tron and Amulet Titan matchup. The problem is that I don't really want to play something like Ad Nauseam or Storm...
Any ideas?
what about "combo creature decks"? like Hardened Scales, Infect or Devoted Company?
if you really like playing a more fair/midrange deck with a good chance of beating those combo decks...you could play any UBx deck with Unmoored Ego (either main or SB)
for example (look at the bottom under Recent Decks Using Unmoored Ego)
I don’t know what deck to play. I enjoy midrange decks a ton, and I also like combo. I have a three hundred dollar budget. I am only just getting into modern from standard, and this will be my first modern deck aside from mono green infect. Thoughts?
I'm a long time midrange player (this is my favorite archetype) but midrange are just not good anymore. This has been the case for quite some time but now I I finally decided to move on play some other, more competitive deck.
Generally speaking I prefer interactive decks but more proactive way of doing it because I don't like sitting their and doing nothing. Therefore control isn't my style as it feels too reactive for my taste.
With this in mind I decided to try something new. After some thoughts of metagame and what to play I decided to play Dredge. Gy based decks are not what I would normally play since I don't enjoy this play style. After testing it a bit I found out that I actually like it. However there's a problem which it very obvious but still-gy hate. Usually I you can do with some but if there's too many it's better to play a different deck. This is the case right now thanks to Hogaak. It seems that everyone and their mother is playing lots of gy hate which makes Dredge worse. Because of this I decided to try something else (at least until gy hate goes down a bit and for other cases like this so I always have another option if I feel there's too much gy hate). I'm not sure what that would be.
I would like my deck to be competitive since I don't enjoy playing a deck if I know it's not very good even though it might be my play style otherwise. I was thinking about Izzet Phoenix Humans but I'm not sure.

I think UR Storm would be a good option for you. It's super tough to find a Modern deck for around $300, but Storm fits the bill.

Either of those would be very good. You may wanna try Esper Shadow - I heard it has a good Hogaak matchup as well. I'm not so sure about vs. other decks though, as I saw 1 of those at a recent tournament fall on its face with a good pilot. So I would do some research first of course, but it's probably as good a time as any for Esper Shadow.

I've been in the modern scene for about 9 months now, and have played 8-whack, Affinity (both traditional and hardened scales), UW spirits, and UW death and taxes. So far, I've only played at the FNM level and just started doing leagues on MTGO. I'd like to start getting a little more serious, and am trying to decide between 2 decks: Shadow decks (probably Grixis or Esper)or Humans. But if you all have a good idea for another deck, let me know.
I like being proactive but having interaction, I like having game against most decks, and I hate playing a deck that is completely shut off by a single hoser card (i.e. stony silence against affinity). I like having creatures, but do not require a completely creature based deck. As far as actual archetypes, I like disruptive aggro, tempo, and midrange. Overall, I want a deck that fits these requirements while being generally playable with meta shifts, even if it isn't necessarily always the "best pick".
I don't really have a price limit, other than not being willing to spend $$$ to own two separate tier 1 decks. My wife saw the "total collection value" on Deckbox.org, and um....suggested I try to keep my collection pared down.:p
I am currently preparing for a big tournament but still unsure which deck choic is "the right one". I assume the following meta: UR-Phoenix, Humans, Jund, Tron, Dredge and tribals what do you think would be a good deck decision. I am currently thinking of playing Eldrazi Tron or also jump on UR-Phoenix but could also play other decks. What can you suggest?
Hi y’all, been out of modern for over a year. I’m trying to find a competitive deck to play. My favorite guild is UR, my favorite wedge is RUG, I love tempo decks like legacy delver. Any suggestions?
I have a weird inquiry: what deck should I play if I want the 75 to be as singleton as possible in Modern and/or Legacy?
I am mainly a Commander and Canadian Highlander player, so I have a singleton collection and don't mind picking up new/powerful cards; just not multiples of them.
I have been an "avid" merfolk player (read as "on and off and have now built the deck 3+ times") for years, and prefer aggro strategies, but am open to anything for smaller/shorter events. I have recently considered a more singleton approach to Gifts, but it gets caught up in the graveyard-hate crossfire. I'm really just looking for something for FNMs and GP/MF side events.
You mentioned the "singleton" deck that came to mind, Esper Gifts. That deck can typically function without its graveyard because you run so many singleton copies of spells but I haven't seen lists for it in a while.
Aside from that, I'd say you could build an Esper Control shell that's a bunch of one-ofs, one Supreme Verdict, one Damnation, one Kaya's Wrath, one Terminus for example with the wealth of removal and countermagic you can choose from. New cards and old cards alike from Kaya's Guile to Esper Charm could be options there.
You could also play a toolbox deck, which would probably be the most competitive option. With the newly printed for modern Eladamri's Call alongside Chord of Calling, Collected Company, and Finale of Devastaion, you could build a pretty solid Naya or Bant creature deck, even some sort of Kiki-Chord / Vanifar shell. Here's a list from a few months ago from Jeff Hoogland:
You might be able to add even more spicy one-ofs to this deck like Breaching Hippocamp or Wall of Blossoms along with more copies of the new cards from WAR and MH1.
