It's gotta be a temporary spike. It is just a sideboard card and only a 2 of at most. It will go down. (Foil Gaddock Teeg was $10 just 8 months ago, a time in which the foils then spiked to $30.)
Price memory means that Gaddock Teeg won't really decrease in price any time soon.
That's the whole reason these buyouts happen in the first place. Once a card spikes it almost never goes back down to its original price. This means the speculators can slowly flip the cards they bought out without having to worry about losing money.
Lately I've been thinking about picking up a playset of Goyfs. I don't really have any immediate use for them, but it would let me play Zoo or RUG Twin.
How do people feel about Goyf right now, I'll have another chance to buy in 6 months or so. Would people bet on it going up by that point?
Oh yeah man, look at the past, every modern season Goyf goes up even if it was reprinted the preceeding year. So, it will go back up this summer, maybe 180-220, then down a little and then spike the next year if it isnt in THAT year's MM set.

Absolutely buy them now. I paid 200+ for mine last year.
I'm a bit worried about getting goyfs. If they reprint them in the next mm set prices will dip again. But it's the game we play, right?
Mm1 goyfs were about 180 before mm2. Now they are 150. Mm2 goyfs are around 125. I think futuresite goyfs were 220 each before mm1.
These are in USD.
Which brings another point...at what price point does goyf have to be so that wotc can stop reprinting them?
Eventually if it get reprinted every time, people will have the ability to get them but the older printings will still be more expensive due to supply and being the better ones anyway.
It will probably hit between 220-250 for Future Sight, 200 for the MM1, 180 for MM2 during Summer makes some sense.

That's my big concern, that point has to be soon. I can't imagine there being a MM3 reprint of it.
How do people feel about the different versions? To me it's a toss up between MM2 and Future Sight. Future Sight has higher value, but it's also a popular counterfeit target. The MM2 one has the holo stamp to guarantee authenticity which is something that not many high value cards have.
gaddoc teegs is actually becoming a mainboard for these naya burn decks that are poping up all over the place. shuts off tron, twin, ad nauseum, and a few other decks that would play a 4cc+ to stabalize against them or use engineered explosives to stop Naya Burn's creatures.

Where? Maybe zoo, but even there he would be bad for main board. Burn doesn't care about shutting people down, we just win before they combo. Turn 3 karn isn't really scary when they are at 3-6. The scary card in tron is Wurmcoil and Teeg doesn't even stop him. Same goes for twin, we just race them. Bottleneck our burn spells so they can't counter everything and win before they drop the combo. If a burn deck is running a hatebear that requires both of our splash cards in the main something is wrong with that list. Actually, "burn" decks have been dropping green from the mainboard and only splashing for revelery in the side. I can't see how a 2/2 which doesn't fix our worst matchup (affinity) is a good idea.
If Gaddock Teeg is shutting down Twin, you need to play against better Twin players. I feel like they run like 7 maindeck answers to him, probably more if Grixis.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

My case of BFZ is looking better all the time. I actually have 90% of that deck in my trade binder. Cavern of Souls I don't have, nor the IoK, but Kozileks Channeler and Thoughtseize will do in their stead.
My question is, why did Glen Elendra Archmage spike $25 and $12 today?
This is absurd. It's a niche card that's used as a one of in a tier 2 deck and maybe a one or two of in some fringe deck that a bunch of speculators wrote articles on and banked hard on a price increase. Absurd and it should be banned because its to exspensive. Also anyone who forsaw the increase and bought the cards low and are selling them high are filthy scrubs and I hate them.
Value is good. But Dredgevine isn't supposed to be about value. It's supposed to be about V-8; 2000 pounds of nitro boosted war vegetables. The more velocity, the better.

So, when should we start complaining about the prices of eye of ugin and demand an urgently needed reprint?
It already got reprinted in MM2. The problem is that Wizards is scared to death of doing any sort of real reprint run because they are still traumatized by Chronicles.

I couldn't bring myself to buy into Eldrazi, I just wouldn't want to play it and have my Goyfs laying around while playing another midrange deck

This is entirely true. In addition to 4 Remand and 3 Spell Snare, I run 4 Lightning Bolt, 2 Electrolyze and 2 Terminate. Out of the board, I have 2 Kolaghan's Command and 2 Anger of the Gods. I'm not concerned with Gaddock Teeg in the least bit.
