What do you think would happen to the price of Tarmogoyf if WOTC made it a FNM promo?
It will be lower than $50 USD. However, IMO, it should not happen.
They can use it as the judge promo, FTV candidate, or selling more MMA packs. Why they want to do it for the FNM promo?
What do you think would happen to the price of Tarmogoyf if WOTC made it a FNM promo?
Considering they only ever reprinted them in limited-release sets at upshifted mythic rarity, they will never do this. If they do anything, they MIGHT make it the RPTQ promo card, which will do nothing to the price (as was seen with Liliana last year and Snapcaster this year).
Considering how things are right now, do you think it's worth buying Cavern of Souls before it creeps up further or wait? Been building modern spirits with plans on moving into full blown merfolk so I have time tested deck to work with in modern.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...

You're not wrong. They do need to do reprints on occasion. That said, reprints affect design space. MM is a cash grab, no doubt. As long as it's around, don't expect much to find its way into standard sets. Because, while it's a cash grab, it also fills the role you mentioned and it does so better than insert random reprint could ever do. Random reprints are a gift because they are issued with no print cap.
"Random" reprints are not random. Also, if you have to pay for something, it is, by definition, not a gift. If WotC built a cannon to fire free cards at your house, they would be gifts. When they reprint a format staple in a Standard set, it is not a gift. You still have to pay for it and it is also not random as Wizards has ulterior motives for reprinting cards. They want to increase profits by attracting new players but they are also interested in maintaining older ones as consumers.
On topic: I'm definitely into all of these CN2 reprints. I can buy a couple boxes to draft and still have some usable cards when I'm done! Awesome!

I think all the cool reprints are the sweetest part of CN2 so far. I mean new Daretti is cool, but the fact that people can get to have cool reprints after will also help the set have value after you draft it
Price memory. It will drop eventually, but people are reluctant to sell at a lower price if they don't have to.
Exactly this. The people who bought them when Bloom Titan was legal paid that price. If the price is staying the same, that means that no one is selling them right now. The price that the few people who are selling them is pretty high, but there may actually not be any selling at that price, so it's not the actual "price." They will drop when people realize that it won't spike anytime soon and they have no use for the card.
I'll give an example. I had a the Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale that was worth a TCG mid price of $1400. I tried and tried to sell it at $1100, but realized through messages and talking to others that the selling point was closer to $1,000. I eventually sold the NM- copy for $1,000 on Ebay because I just wanted to move the card and that's the price people were buying them at.
It's similar to the spike prices when a card recently spikes really high. Some people actually buy it for that price for a short time, but then no more people are willing to buy them at that price. So the price temporarily stays somewhat high until sellers realize that nobody else is buying at that price, then they lower it. I know this was a lengthy post to say basically the same thing cfusion said, but hopefully this gives some people some insight to the market.

Hmm, just noticed that Thought Knot Seer is going down a bit in price. The SP version is just 4.89 now at SCG. I wonder what's causing this? Not being used too much in Standard or not being used too much in Modern?

Take this with a grain of salt since I don't play Standard, but it sees no play in Standard as far as I know. It sees a little bit of play in Bant Eldrazi and Eldrazi and Taxes (recently on a decline) in Modern. It sees play in Legacy Eldrazi. That's it.

Sell off Inquisition of Kozilek for half tcgplayer Medium price or take the hit from reprint? I'm thinking hold since it will cost me about what I sell them for to pickup a set latter.

The time to sell IoK was a couple months ago when it was over $20. They're under $8 on TCG player and around $8.50 on eBay which means to sell you would need to undercut the lowest seller. I would just hold them (as I am holding mine) because it's just not worth selling at the moment. Especially if you intend on rebuying them at a future date.
What do you think would happen to the price of Tarmogoyf if WOTC made it a FNM promo?
I wish, i've been wanting them to put the future sight artwork in a modern frame, preferably the pre-m15 modern frame. I figure a fnm promo is the best way to do this.

Thanks for the reply. Oh, and I was mistaken.. the 4.89 is for their moderately played copies not slightly played... or they could have changed SP to MP after one day..
I thought the price would hike a lot after Bant Eldrazi had promotion to Tier 1. Fortunately, that did not happen. and there's a little decrease instead.

I hate to put this in here because it is strictly my opinion (that is shared with a high percentage of people), but here goes - Bant Eldrazi is not Tier 1. It is firmly in Tier 2. It is basically a Midrange Tron deck. I'm not saying that it can't be better in certain metas than GR Tron, but the things it's doing take more cards to be busted.
Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you see it, if Bant Eldrazi were to win an Open or just have a lot of camera exposure (read: Dredge and Dredge last week), some of the cards could see a bump. My opinion on the set is that a LOT of it was opened to play the former broken deck, Eldrazi, and/or just to find Expeditions. There is no shortage of the cards, especially rares, from that set.

Follow-up on this: I wouldn't place too much weight in tierings in the month before three Grand Prix. Those are going to really set the tone for the format, not the events beforehand. Bant Eldrazi's current tiering mostly means the deck is trending Tier 1 before the GP, but not that it has solidified its status.
