Without value, the game will lose players. Without paper Magic, you will see hundreds of LGS die off and hurt the game. I think this is a reason Wotc refuses to make a solid interface for MTGO. They dont want everyone to switch over to MTGO or it will kill LGS and TOs. In short Wotc needs the paper game to continue.
On topic, looks like Bloom titan pieces jumped a bit.
While this is true, I don't see why they chose to make MTGO even worse to the point of pros refusing to use it for testing.
Which pieces are spiking? I bought a few a year or so ago incase I wanted to build it but I never got around to it.
Azusa climbed from a $26 median price to $38 and Amulet went from about $3.50 to $7 a pop.
Also LotV is climbing slowly.

Because they want people to buy cards.
People were buying cards online though. It seems like a great way to make players who had already invested online to quit playing Magic and stop giving Wizards money if they don't have a strong local scene.

Those are not cards, those are just pixels. They are not cards until they are redeemed, if they can.
Like I have said, They dont want the masses to play on-line. They want players to support their LGS and buy cards and play at shops, not on-line.

I'm so glad i dumped the store credit that I earned when I got to play pod for a month into bloom titan staples. On the other hand, watching the price of an cool deck skyrocket makes me kind of sad.

Good for you. Aren't you special? Hear is the deal and you might have missed it but by saying you accept $50 fakes, you have just put a giant NO TRADE or BUY sign on your forehead. Because it follows if your okay buying them, then your ok selling them and now for anybody who wants to keep counterfeit, illegally produced cards out of the format, you sir, are radioactive. the problem is its quite hard to find ha half decent fake.
some pic's on eBay are brutally fake, and the people who make them... want like $30
wasteland for example, why would I spend $30 on a crap fake +shipping, when I can literally spend that coupled with trade credit @LGS for the same or less...
However, should we get some $8-10 duels... Bring it.
*disclaimer* I am not saying fakes are good for the community...
but i won't say that they are bad.
I would like to see wiz make something happen regarding the reserved list.
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?

Chill.I know fake cards are bad things but i considerer them more of a simpton then desiease. You don't know if he/she would do that, maybe just want to compete in high level but doesn't have enough money to buy playsets of these expensive cards
Well this is a text based forum and what someone says is pretty much all you really have to go on. And thats fine that they want to compete at a high level, hell its fine if they want to use proxies to compete at a high level, but when you want counterfeit cards, created by a third party to pass as real cards, well I'm taking exception to it as should every person who has put money into the game. Remember those high card prices help keep card shops in business. Further, those card shops make it possible to play at a tournament. If one goes, they both go. Its fine if you want to go buy singles at Walmart but how long do you think even big box stores will keep something on the shelf if there is a counterfeit alternative that cost significantly less?
I feel for folks who can't put in the monetary investment to buy these cards. I really do. When I play I play with 90% real cards with occasional proxies so I don't have to constantly swap cards in and out of decks. Any body I play with can play with proxies. That doesn't bother me. But making counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people(at least most I have met) are totally cool with the use of proxies (outside of sanctioned events of course) what purpose do hi quality counterfeit cards serve? Maybe they like the art or maybe they plan on conning some kid out of their most valuable pulls or maybe they are gonna resell them off of ebay at a 25-30% mark up and neglect to say they are FAKE!
Everybody(at least that I have met) has experienced anxiety over spending real money for card board. Its part of the game. For the most part the people who want cheap reprints or counterfeits are the ones that want MTG to be just another game like monopoly or their last game system that they can throw in the corner when they are bored with it. Or they don't get the investment that people have put into MTG, not only of money, but of time and energy. My feelings are simple here: you wanna play a tier one deck? How bad do you want it? Is it enough to dedicate a lot of money out of pocket or should breaking the law be an option too? Remember it is just a game.
End rant...

And here we see a fundamental difference in the way that people view magic. I personally view all the money I spend on magic as sunk costs already, and if you go by that metric, magic is hellishly expensive compared to any other gaming hobby, tabletop or video.

just go for all in combo twin if you want to do blood moon and spellskite. skite protects your combo from pretty much all removal sans go for the throat. and you can play 4/4/4 with all your combo pieces and cantrips.

the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
