I'd be stunned if we didnt get Shocks. Look at the cards from multicolour matters sets, look at their staying power or at least long run's in post Standard play.
Hi, for sometime I was wanting to own one or two copies of Scarab God, as the card feels strong. He's at 14-15 dollars right now. Is it safe to buy or wait a little longer?
Wait. He's iconic and good enough that people will still like him and slot him into things, but he'll never break into any eternal format. He'll be a reasonable commander card so he'll probably settle around 5-7 dollars particularly since he rotates in the next set.
Opinions about liliana of the veil? I need 4, but i will not spend so much money. You think they reprint here soon?
I checked MTG Goldfish price charts. Her first reprint took her down to around 60-64 usd from being 85 dollars and she shot up recently to 100+ mostly because reprint speculation blow back from the Masters ***** storm that happened in early 2018. Despite the paper market indicators, she really hit her high as far as interest goes back in Shadows over Innistrad days when we got Not the Liliana you were looking for. Her price is already on the decline and you should be able to pick her up at around 70-80 dollars right now.
If she sees a reprint in the next year along with a bunch of other really good staples, I'd expect new copies to drop her price down to the 40 dollar range in the short term. If the set is like Battlebond or Conspiracy she could hit back to her 30 usd status quite easily. As for why she is dropping, it's that she isn't seeing as much play as she used to. You probably only need two copies for Mardu Pyromancer builds and are better off spending money on the mana base. You could easily slot something else into that spot like Liliana, the last hope. GDS I think sideboards it in sometimes, so that's another two of. Abzan and Jund run the most copies at 3 and 4 respectively, and they are typically mixing it with Liliana, the Last Hope.
I think if you are just planning on playing Mardu or Grixis getting the two copies is within reach. I'd be hesitant on picking up a full playset at this price because a lot of modern cards are over costed on the market right now. People went into a panic when WoTC declared masters sets dead and didn't announce an alternative source. A lot of stores try to keep at least one token copy of a card listed because it means their shop shows up on places like TCG player. If they have no or few card listings, it limits their exposure to the market. Hence, when people went nuts and started trying to buy everything in site (gambling speculators and people playing the "follow the piper" routine like usual), they were forced to take down their listings and relist at higher prices to slow the orders down.

i do think lotv is right within the threshold of being a standard candidate. i just dont think it will happen any time soon.
i do still believe that lotv still holds the title of best walker ever printed, but her playability within the format has dropped quite a bit. only jund, and maybe some oddballs like 8-rack, play a full set and jund is hardly dominant at the moment. unfortunately memory and the current state of the modern card economy is propping up her price, and will likely continue to do so until wizards makes their next move.

I actually think Teferi is the best PW ever printed. It's just that good.
LotV is certainly powerful, but in the context of Modern she's just not good enough right now.
$30-40 for Liliana of the Veil? No. Not unless she is reprinted in a Standard set, and I don't think that will happen: when was the last planeswalker reprint in Standard? M15 I think?
Price memory is a really powerful force, and non-standard card prices go down very, very slowly. If they announced that they were reprinting Modern Masters 2017 today, she might reach down to the $70ish pre-order price she was back then, but not that much lower: Masters reprint at Mythic of Modern staples don't affect the card prices that much. And certainly not cut such a card price by 60-70%!
And we have no idea how WotC will push Modern reprints will be in the near future.
It's fair to say that she doesn't see as much play as she used to, but Modern is always changing, and Black is the most disruptive color of Magic. I bet that, even if we don't have her in a deck at the moment, many of us still have a play set of her sitting around.
So, I don't expect a reprint any time soon. The earliest would be in a Masters set in 2019, and I doubt she would be in there: they have far too much stuff to reprint at the moment to duplicate MM3. Still... $100 is too high for the card at the moment, and she is in a downward trend. Wait until there is a sale: stores and eBay sometimes offer 10-15% off, especially during the holidays.
LotV was $30 when she was in Standard, and it took a while for her to break into older formats. Modern also wasn't as popular during the first INN block. There hadn't been any MM sets to boost the popularity yet. Even if she's reprinted in a Standard set there's no way she drops down to $30 again unless she's also in some supplemental product at the same time.

I'm edging more towards 40-50 dollars if it's a battlebond type set, but only if they do it within six months. If it's a masters set then it's a very different story. Albeit, they are supposed to be avoiding masters sets and if they reverse course so quick people are going to call them on it.

I think its a bit early for that to be stated. He is the greatest in Modern and Standard in while though I think. Chandra is strong but eh recent Rb decks are dropping her and she never really shined much in Modern although she does show up in these new Mono Red Dragon Decks which are quite fun.
Still in Modern you got Two Lilis, JTMS, Ugin, Karn and Teferi as the top Walkers.

Everything you mentioned is a good PW, but in the contexts of what they do for their decks, Teferi does more for it's deck than any of the others do for theirs.
I see Teferi as extremely pushed.
The baseline on a 5 mana PW is +1 card with upside on a plus. Teferi has that, except his upside effectively makes him 3 mana, where +1 card is baseline on a minus or .5 cards on a plus.
Removal on a minus is typical, it's the standard +1 card to tick down. Teferi's minus is also a late game win condition though. I believe this was completely unintentional, but it is what it is.
Ultimates aren't really worth evaluating, outside of the context of does it win the game or not?
Every other card on that list follows the typical baselines for their costs. None of them are above the curve of what's considered playable, they're all right at it. Teferi is the only one that is above curve. That is why I say it's the best PW printed so far.
100% Teferi does more for the decks it has empowered, than anything other PW. Jace is in UW Miracles sure, but its a 2/2 Split from what I see, and without Terminus, Jace loses a ton of points there. A lot of UWR players simply dropped Jace (I held on to 1) while Jace is only the UR Blue Moon walker of choice...because Teferi has W in the cost.
Teferi is crazy strong though, and its ability to be a 1 card engine + win con that does SO MUCH for UWx...I can see the argument its the best walker printed.
I also came in to note, Tarn's are over $80 now. Prices are nuts at the moment.
i can see the arguments for teferi being one of the best walkers ever printed, however it simply doesnt have the pedigree across all formats; both over time and in play density. its a standard allstar, but so was gideon ally of zendikar. it may or may not see more play than jace in modern, but jace still sees more play in both legacy and vintage. perhaps its just a matter of time.
fetches going back up is to be expected. what should really be monitored is how quickly they return to their pre-reprint price as well as if and by how much they exceed their previous peak. tarns have been 80+ before.

Jace will likely always see more play, what I think we'll see over time though is that in the decks that can run both Jace and Teferi, Teferi will see more copies. You can cast Jace at 4 mana rather than 5, and he's only a single color. Teferi is still the more efficiently cost card though. I think that as time goes on we'll see Teferi see more play in Legacy, and he's already seeing some in addition to having made a big splash in Modern.

Would just like to say thanks again. You're right. 5 days ago when we talked, The Scarab God is 16-17 dollars... today I checked at SCG, he's down to 11 dollars. Would be waiting for the price to go down a bit lower, so I can get 3 copies. ^__^
I just pick up this week a teferi for 25€ a real bargain (40€ min price in europe) so i put on my jeskai control deck just to try it and man that card its really good
I was playing vs traverse shadow and he has a tasigur on board, nothing in hand/field, i only have 1 bolt in hand and im at 4 life ... just draw teferi, cast it for 5 left 1 mana open for bolt, then draw path to exile and untap 2 lands for cast bolt + path to survive, 3-4 turns later in win that match ...
I think teferi its the real deal in modern, its like the power level of liliana of the veil and for 40€ i think its a fair/cheap price for that card, sure it will raise im gonna buy 2 more the next month instead of jace

I'm seeing Karn go for a little below 30 bucks at the moment. I can snag a few copies for like 28 dollars a pop, think this is going to be a solid price point for him? Considering hes seeing small amounts of play in all formats he seems like he wont really ever go that low, but I'm not sure how low he could go, and I'm scared of how high he could go if Ravnica creates an environment wheres hes busted.

To be frank, Zambrah, the two best pick ups I am seeing right now are Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, and Sarkon, Fireblood. Sarkon is absolutely as powerful as LoTV, it's just that the deck that runs him is Goryo's Vengeance, which has a bad matchup vs humans due to Meddling mage. Since the meta is vastly humans at the moment, his namesake deck isn't seeing a lot of widespread play. I think MagicAids has been playing with the deck for a while online and has adopted Torpor Orb to deal with human ETBs.
New karn is seeing play in affinity, Shop decks, and some other places. I think he is a good walker to pick up, just the priority should be on the undervalued guys and the obvious powerhouse. The latter because I just don't see his price ever dropping down until rotation for dominaria. Even then, we could be looking at his price increase.

how is sarkhan even remotely close to the power of lotv? ive literally only seen it in that skred dragons deck; which turned out to be quite mediocre based on its relative quick disappearance. lotv was dominant in standard, played as a 4-of in one of the most prolific decks in the history of modern, and was played in multiple top tier legacy decks.
