I for one can not wait to yet again taste the tears of my opponents and witness the hilarious crying this unban will bring to these forums. Its not like Cawblade is back. But, Zoo is. My tears shall be drank by the aggro players by the gallon. So many games will be won just by resolving that turm one. We can not just be UB Fae. Red or white will be needed. Wild Nacatal bends this deck over.

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD
I'm personally shocked that Deathrite Shaman got banned. It was not too powerful and it died to everything.
I am glad that nacatl got unbanned.
Bitterblossom will be interesting but it could be harmful, we'll see.
I've been trying to get bitterblossoms ever since I saw the update and I can't find them anywhere on mtgo, looks like the price will skyrocket, which sucks, another rare that costs way more than it should.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
The DRS ban is easier to swallow when you acknowledge it's being a nerf ban against Jund/GBx much in the vein of Wild Nacatl getting shorted up until now.
How so?
Without DRS softening up damage against full Kitty powered Zoo we will get destroyed. They should have tested both DRS and Kitty first before banning.
To those thinking graveyard strategies will be viable again all I
can do is just laugh. I'll see you all in a few months wanting
Scavenging Ooze banned.
DRS ban was unnecessary and will lead to a Griselbrand or Goryo's Vengeance ban eventually. I get why they banned it but it didn't really have to go.
I believe the deck will have a positive and negative matchup in the metagame, with Fae becoming viable once again, cheap countermagic is at an all high premium. Jund will become a midranged deck with 25+ lands once again, and Four-Color Zoo is somewhere I would rather be right now instead of 4-Color Jund.
Living end lost huge traction with Scavenging Ooze. Now with DRS maindeck hate leading to BG decks being less prevalent = less Scavenging Ooze. I see living end making a comeback with zoo popping up now.

The thing is, while it died to everything, graveyard decks couldn't kill it, which just wrecks that kind of matchup.
Well, DRS ban is a mixed bag. My snapcaster's are going to get better, OTOH DRS kept a lot of GY shenanigans in check, which can be a nuisance. I like to see Zoo return as it is a fun MU imho for UWR. I wanted to see Ancestral at least get unbanned, but meh. We'll see how this turns out. (BB is not going to be the dominant force as it was in standard, mark my words)
I'm definitely liking the DRS ban. It's a shame they didn't ban the fetches along with DRS, as it would have made Nacatl more balanced and the games much faster due to the lack of shuffling. I guess you can't win 'em all.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

I think I kind of get the DRS ban. With bitterblossom back, they're projecting that Fae will be tier 1/1.5 at least, and as the only abrupt decay deck, BGx would become even more dominant with a bitterblossom-reliant deck in the format. The DRS ban lets them keep BGx in check in the new format.
I'm not convinced DRS was the right card to ban, but oh well. It works.

I thought TNN not getting banned while BB and Nacatl being unbanned was a huge win for all actually.
Keep in mind that Electrolyze is pretty damn good against Fae as well...which means UWR also got a bit better (either Control/Midrange or Splinter Twin).

It's good as long as it's on the reactive end. Fae could theoretically tank the spell as long as it keeps UWR playing on its terms and not theirs.
Today we mark the death of Jund's reign as lord of Modern. The loss of Deathrite it going to hit them hard and even now they have difficulty with fliers. How will they do when Bitterblossom Tokens are everywhere?

The cards was powerful, yes, but in many ways it kept the format safe...
You will learn to fear snapcaster even more, and reanimator will be a thing...if you think scavenging ooze will save you, you are wrong...
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
Now I have to decide between making DnT for legacy or Fae for modern.

I could see it. Especially if BGw or straight BG starts outperforming BGr.
BBE is still a fairly absurd card, if we're talking modern power level.
Do we think most Nacatl decks are going to be running GoST going forward?
