35 are signed up, but 0 deck lists/codes verified. Remember thats part of the sign up process. Were holding off on that bit til the 5-7 just to see if we can catch m13.
Last time we had 33 (aka more than 32) signed up meaning we would need a new round for our bracket, but only 28 deck code verified, so we kept our normal 32 spot bracket. We are currently 3 over, meaning projected wed need a 64 bracket but who knows how many people will verify.
Anywho, get your names in now, we only got til the 7th.
Edit in the news:
7/2- Were extending our wait time to see if m13 will be in. Send in your lists from 7/5 to 7/7. Also currently more people are infavor of single elem over double (6-4), so I'm calling that vote closed as of 7/6 If you prefer double, and havent said so yet, now is the time to speak up.

Is Swiss an option? Single Elim isn't very good for testing/practicing modern. Unless people are using this as practice for single elim modern tournys lol

swiss is not. While it can work as a one time highly organized thing, since we all have different schedule's to work around, a ton of results, and computing, ect ect.
Really if there was something with prizes that was worth making it super organized, sure. But single elem and double is the easiest to conduct online.

As much as I'd like to say go ahead and use the unofficial patch, it is going to be too big a hassle to explain to everyone how to do it. Official patch should definitely be requisite. Gonna be kinda weird, tho, if the patch hits like a day or two into the tournament. :/
I feel you. There is a way we can get around that... Tech, if people put the cards in the way the name is exactly (load from clip board, write in the names), the deck code will stay the same after the patch, and the cards will work. they come up as blank cards during the game though.
I reallllllyyy dont wanna do that though. I talked to some cockatrice guys who said the patch will be up shortly after the cards are on the gatherer.
Edit: just got official word: friday/Saturday. What should we do about that.
This is about testing...I don't want to wait another month for M13. I say push back the deadline to Sunday the 8th at like noon. That gives us one more day..and hopefully enough time for you to set up the matchups and get some games going since Sunday is a very eaasy day for people to play.
I agree with not including m13 this time. If we wait until the 8th, im afraid we wont be able to finish this before the next month.
Its not like we cant play test games outside of this anyways.
Ok well i don't care either way. I have 3 deck choices, one of which runs M13 cards and i don't have much practice with so...im probably gonna stick with my main deck.
I don't care either way, but for time sake i say we start up early.
im in favor of us not having M13 in this one. I think it would be better if we just wait until next month's tournament to use it. We can test on our own until next months, playing a tournament full of untested brews doesnt seem very productive or particularly interesting
Besides that there is a deck that becomes better after M13 i wouldn't mind trying...
I think that allowing M13 in this tournament will lead to some people setting aside lists that are actually good (brews or not) in favor of the new exciting m13 cards whose viability is based entirely on speculation, or at best a few hours of testing. While im certainly an advocate for brewing new lists (i am in fact playing a brew), i dont think the short time between this sets release on cockatrice and the due date for the tournament is sufficient for testing, and will lead to poorly designed decks, which are not very fun to play against. I dont think that we can afford to push back the due date for lists beyond the original date of the 7th, so i think the best plan is to wait a month to use m13
I havent looked at any of the stuff yet, simply because I need to figure out if were doing m13 or not. Since I talked to the guys on cockatrice about the release and they assure me that 13 will be done, BY Saturday, I'm going to say the due dates of sunday morning (12 am on the very beginning of the 8th) stays. That being said, if M13 is official by then I will take revisions of the decklists for m13. So to be clear:
I will currently take decklistscodes WITH OUT m13 right now. Should M13 official patch come out Before midnight morning of the 8th, I will take the new decklist/code.
I'm locking in my code for my list pre m13 and post m13 right now.
Will send list/code when I'm done tweaking the deck. (I don't think anything from M13 is going in there, but I still haven't settled on a 75.)

Note: an unofficial patch is up: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=423166 But I'd still much prefer a official patch

Ftr I am ok w/o M13 but my preference would be to have it if we have the actual plugin available.
