Archive Methodology
Previously we had each old 8-way keep its own subs and simply moved them here. This started to become quite the headache as the number of subs grew and grew. Upon starting to archive the 16th 8-way, we realized we already had a full 135 subs devoted to their archives, and were going to add 9 more. This was 20% of our entire forum tree - devoted to an archive that gets very little traffic overall. This was starting to become foolish, so we've implemented a new way to archive them. Instead of retaining a full forum structure for each previous 8-way, teams are divided into their own forums, and each round has its own round prefix.
Navigating the Archive
The new archive is easy to navigate, as long as you remember to filter by the round number prefix. All threads from any given team of a round are put into the appropriate archive sub. They are also given a prefix for their round number: "Round 16" for the 16th 8-Way, "Round 15" for the 15th 8-way, and so on. So if you wish to view Team C from Round 16, all you have to do is go to the "Team C" subforum, and filter to the prefix "Round 16". There are two easy ways to quickly filter to a specific round: (1) Go to the bottom right of any team sub's index, and click on the filter box. You can select whichever round you wish to view. (2) Use the archive tree below. It lists all past 8-Ways and links directly to each team's threads, filtered to the correct round.
