Which is better? Is the curve of the secon deck so bad that you really wany to play Flamekin Brawler?
I picked the elemental deck and went 5-0, but I really wanted to try the schoolmaster deck.

Yeah, I had an almost identical situation in my last Sealed Pool, a bunch of good merfolk (including surgespanner and multiple schoolmasters), but only a mothdust and weight for enablers. Schoolmasters are really just terrible without enablers. This is part of the reason why Drowner is such a ridunculous card.
Anyhow, think you made the right choice here.
On a similar note, I won that Sealed (5-0) with a g/w aggro-y deck. I don't remember his name right now, but that treefolk rare elder guy is absolutely ridiculous. Huge card advantage if he triggers off a significant portion of your deck. The Wolf Skull elf guy is pretty sexy too, but nothing compares to a completely free dude off the top of your deck every couple turns.
MTGS stats (won/played)
As scum - 3/5
As town - 5/7
As neutral - none
(I really have been scum a lot)

I've been mostly leaving my Schoolmasters in the board today. They just don't seem good in Sealed unless your pool has an unusual level of support for them.
