What is this 5-creature 20-land garbage? It won't even run on-color manafixing like Savage Lands and Jungle Shrine.
I found I was getting passed trilands mid-pack, which should not happen. Do the bots undervalue manafixing because they don't even consider the possibility of 3-color decks? I'm going to try to draft "4 color lulz" and see what happens.
I realize your autobuild isn't designed to build 3-color decks. But the bots are clearly undervaluing trilands. They're too easy to grab. Even in a 2-color deck, they're at least as good as an on-color Guildgate. Bots should want them. Also, for some reason the autobuild doesn't include on-color trilands in the deck, but it does include on-color Guildgates.
Who thinks this is a good draft tactic for this format? Is two Trials enough to go this deep? Am I not going deep enough? Do I need to cut Benefaction or add more of them?
I think the trial/cartouche synergy is definitely really strong, and good in your deck. I probably still won't go as far as playing Benefaction of Rhonas though. Also I think that's a few too many Pouncing Cheetah - that card is not very strong. Your best bet is probably to go long and ramp up to bouncing trials/casting your Convergence and 3/2s don't help defensively that much.
I did a few quick sealed pool, seems like the RNG generator is off or the seed for the RNG inst random enough , way to many doubles and triplicates of cards. While it's common to get doubles and the occasional triplicate in sealed, I don't ever recall pulling 15 doubles and 3 triplicates; 14 doubles and a triplicate; 14 doubles and a 2 triplicates; 13 duplicates, 1 triplicate and 1 quadruplicate.
Yea, went back an drew one more pool 13 doubles, a triplicate and 1 quintuple. Yep, 5 Cartouche or Ambition.

In fact, it's the real packs which are "not random enough". Real randomization produces more duplicates on average than you see in packs with print runs.

I'd have to crunch too much math for the doubles, but triples, have less than a 2% chance of occurring. It's a simple combination probability to figure out a single triple. Five pools in a row each have at least one triple is a 1 in 100 million chance.[/strike]
Edit: Actually, I've got a mistake there. That's the probability of a specific card occurring in triplicate in a sealed pool. We what any card getting triplicate. I follow now, essentially the class birthday issue in the packs if not controlled, roughly a 50/50 chance of a duplicate of the non-foil commons if you didn't control it.

In a deck with 15 creatures and 7 enchantments, like yours, the expected value of Benefaction of Rhonas is 1.55 non-land cards, with some selection, which seems quite reasonable relative to usually-playable Divination's expected value of 1.15 non-land cards/.85 lands. I don't know whether it would be wise, but if you replaced a creature with another Benefaction of Rhonas, the expected value drops to ~1.54 cards, so it would still make sense from a value perspective.
Thanks as usual. Me and my gf love trying out draft strategies with this thing.
It is a bit wonky how it rates stuff like farm // market. Probably kind of hard to handle I'm guessing, since some aftermath cards are only good with both sides, whereas some are fine with only the front half, and many are fine on the front but better with both sides. It's also a bit wonky in that you can reliably wheel great multicolor cards, where in real life someone's usually going to snap up an off-color B+ rather than take some D+ on-color, if only for spite.
Personally I don't care that much about the auto-build thing. If you want a good deck, build it yourself. Though I assume that the problem of making bots take the right cards, and auto-building good decks for the drafter, is basically the same problem.
Also of course I disagree with some ratings. Imminent doom as low as life goes on? You shall learn the folly of your ways! (maybe)
This past weekend WotC had their prerelease for Iconic Masters and today they officially revealed the whole set. That means it's up to play around with on Draftsim!
Hey guys - taking into account a bunch of the feedback I've gotten here at MTGS and elsewhere, I'm planning to do a huge redesign and new feature ramp up for Draftsim. I just started a Patreon to help fund the project:
Do you think you could possibly add a "monetary limit" option of some sort? For those of us drafting at shops and the like, we're not going to get passed stuff like Horizon Canopy just because it sucks in limited. If we could set something like "if card value =>$X, take card" that'd be a lot more realistic
That's an interesting idea. I have gotten a lot of feedback about "why is this bad but expensive card here so late in the pack" and I understand that it makes people feel like something just happened that would never happen at their local shop. Having the ability to turn on "local shop"/FNM mode instead of "correct drafting mode" is kind of intriguing.
One thing I wonder about with this is (besides being morally opposed as a drafting spike, but that's not important :P) how to realistically know when a card is valuable for this purpose. Maybe just an indicator on the card like as a chase rare? To actually build something to track all the individual card prices for this scenario I think would be unnecessarily complex/impractical.
For IMA purposes we're fortunate that most of the expensive cards are also good in limited.
That's a ton of dinosaurs! I might cut the 8 drop having no ramp in the deck (it will be really hard to cast). I think the 4 Sun-Collared Raptor might be a bit too many too - it is pretty mana intensive and can't attack profitably into a 2/2. But those 2 Dinosaur Stampedes are great in the deck.
Looks like we've got two full weeks of practicing for Masters 25 before it comes out in person!
I just updated Draftsim for draft here and sealed here, let me know what you think.

Not sure if you've been made aware of this or not, but the simulator seems to think Brainstorm is uncommon.
