Had the hornet theme deck, Hornet Queen, Hornet Nest, and two Hunt the Weak. Fear for your lives, Goblin Pikers of the world, the Hornet Nest is coming for you!
Edit: The green/white elf guy was pretty handy with the bug swarm as well.
Well, just opened All the green bombs in my 64 player scheduled premier draft: Nissa, Soul of Zendikar, Phytotitan, Hornet Nest, Yisan... I finally built a RUG Ramp deck, using 4 (!) generator servants and an elvish mystic. Think this is the correct deck? Will let you know my results later.
First win for a online draft last night. Had a spectral ward PASSED to me pack 2 and proceeded to constantly tutor it with a pilgrim i picked up pack three, but had enough board presence to just wait until they HAD to use dissapate/lightning strike in their hands before laying it out.
Most lucky play was drawing the convoke exile spell a turn before he played leviathan. that was just unfortunate for the 8/8 that just causes so many concessions.
The play I felt happiest about was using a forge devil to help convoke flames to kill a pilgrim as it was being enchanted with valor....oh to teach people how bad aura's are again...
I did a draft today which was a bit of a rollercoaster of good and bad.
My laptop has a bit of a wireless issue. It's old, and every now and then the wireless capabilities just shut off, and the only way to fix it is to reboot it. So, it's P1P1, I see Cone of Flame, and I'm happy... it immediately does the thing, and I scramble to restart my laptop, cursing about how I wasted my money. I come back to see, instead of Cone of Flame: Elvish Mystic, Titanic Growth, and Dauntless Missionaries. Not great, but not horrible either. I'm still kinda bummed.
And then I proceed to open Garruk in P2, and Foil Nissa in P3...with a Chord of Calling for the person beside me.
AND THEN, as I'm building my deck, I finish with 1-2 minutes to spare, and it gives me that dreaded error that forces you to restart the client because the deck was not submitted. I rush to do so, but when I come back, the timer is at 0:00 and the deck isn't built. The deck gets submitted with 81 cards. I feel shady asking for reimbursement with my pulls but I really have to. I lost multiple G1s with an 81 card deck.
Who gets FOUR Mythics?? I mean sure, the Hivelord is not 'really' a card I guess, but what the heck happened there?
I had no idea what I was dealing with after game 1, because all I saw was a few really random creatures over three colors, and a Crucible of Fire (???). I saw no dragons, but had to assume he had one in his deck? I saw Mountains, Forests, and Islands, and nothing that really interacted with my flying army.
I go into G2 pretty confident, building a perfect early curve of Selfless Cathar into Swiftclaw into T4 Triplicate Spirits. T5 I drop a Paragon and swing, but he catches me with an Aetherspout I hadn't seen, bouncing almost my whole team, and followed it up with a Perilous Vault a few turns later, with Illusiory Angel and Sliver Hivelord not far behind.
Ooookay...
Game 3 I was forced to play around the Spouts, which he kept telegraphing by leaving 3UU up. That plus Quickling kept me back until he found mana for Soul of Ravnica. He basically sat behind Spouts for five turns while he Soul'd on my endstep, drawing 3 cards each time. He finds Ajani (he was at 9 at this point), and Soul starts beating in for 7 vigilant, lifelinking, first striking damage. I have like two outs MAYBE, but I'm drawing lands like a champ and can't find any solution. My Pillar of Light gets Negated, as does my Spectra Ward a few turns later. Ajani goes Ultimate, but he's running out of time, and I have a wall of creatures to throw in front of his men. Sliver Hivelord comes down and gets immediate Hammerhands, but at this point it's too late. I can chump him till the end of time, which happens to be two minutes, as his clock runs out with him above 30 life, with five cards left in his library, and me at 13.
Its certainly lacking a few key pieces - not enough removal, none of the permanent anthem cards, some mediocre cards at the lower end - but I've never seen a limited deck that could so consistently make the same powerful plays every game through synergistic redundancy. And the deck has only 4 non-commons! I only dropped one game due to keeping a greedy 0-plains hand and not getting there. The rest of the games were almost all complete stomps, featuring an attack for 22 damage, t4 Siege Wurm, and Avacyn against a mono-G deck. Some of the people at the table must have been asleep at the wheel to let this deck happen.
Foolishly kept a 0 land hand today in M15 draft (after a mulligan to 5). Proceeded to win the game with Pegasus and a few others. Regardless of the outcome, I won't be keeping a no-land hand ever again.
I had Ward every game... how does anyone even beat one let alone both of those cards.
Well the one person that took a game off me did it by lightning striking my Ward target.... the preventing Avaycn from attacking with Aeronaut tinkerer equipped with a brawlers plate. I fogged him turn after turn after turn... but he got his mythic Soul of Shandalar and forced the fog and killed me with the activation (he was at 4 life).. I couldn't find either flesh to dust :S... I then Spectra ward killed him game 2 then drew all my sideboard cards (including pillar of light for the soul) in the third game to win with Avacyn despite him dealing with ward again.
Free wins are free wins... been awhile.. I needed that.
I know I should be satisfied, but man oh man, Pro Tour was just 1 game within reach.
I went 5-0 in a PTQ prelim. In the PTQ Finals, which had 219 players, I opened a horrible pool with no removal, but somehow went 8-1 in the sealed portion with a BW deck. The deck featured 19 creatures (2 Seraphs of the Masses, a Indulgent Tormentor, a Soul of Innistrad, and TEN 2- and 1- drops), but quite literally no removal - my 4 spells were Return to the Ranks, Oppressive Rays, Solemn Offering, and Ephemeral Shields. Yup, no removal, but by force of willpower, sheer aggro, and many Selfless Cathar pumps, I managed to get through to the Top 8.
In the Top 8 draft, I opened Nightfire Giant and decided to go Rakdos. You can see the deck below, I ran 18 lands because of my high curve and many mana sinks. Beat UB 2-1 in round 1, RG 2-1 in round 2.
Faced a super aggressive Boros deck in the finals of the finals. In game 1, I started with my maindeck Festergloom and managed to kill 3 creatures with it, but then got stuck for 4 or 5 turns on 4 lands (despite the 18 land deck). I had a Nightfire and Rotfeaster which would have stabilized, but just couldn't draw a 5th land until last turn when I was dead. Game 2, I managed to beat off his early attacks with a lot of trades, and got a crucial Flesh to Dust on a Sungrace Pegasus with Mark of Honor. I cast a Nightfire and he never came back.
Game 3, I started with a hand of (sided in) Black Cat, Goblin Roughrider, and Carrion Crow with 4 lands. He started off strong with back-to-back Borderland Marauders. I chump blocked his first Marauder with my zombie cat, and managed to luck out when it discarded his Triplicate Spirits. Then I traded my goblin for one of his marauders. He cast a Sungrace Pegasus, I cast my tapped bird, and at EOT he put down Raise the Alarm. Next turn he enchanted Pegasus with Divine Favor, and after he attacked with team I was down to 10. On my turn 5, I cast Nightfire Giant. His T6, he gets his 5th land drop, and immediately pushes with team (Marauder, 2/5 Pegasus, 2 tokens). I know what's coming against a white deck charging in with 5 mana open, but it's too painful to watch. I block Marauder with Giant and a token with my Crow, close my eyes, and reopen them to see what I expected - Sanctified Charge. Lose my team, down to 3 life.
I don't top deck my Flesh to Dust, and the Pegasus kills me in two turns. I lose 1-2 in the 12th and final round of the PTQ.
I sigh deeply and wish my opp luck at the Pro Tour. Would've been fun to play at one - I don't even own any paper Magic cards, 100% of my games have been online in the last few years, so I bet I would've been really bad anyway.
Oh right, I did get a foil M15 set and 108 M15 packs for my 2nd place ... so maybe it's FirstWorldProblems, haha. Still, would've loved to go to next February's PT. I guess there's always another PTG in a few weeks on MTGO, but man, coming so close still burns.
Thanks for reading. (Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, I just felt like posting this somewhere where readers would understand)
Edit: The attached image is a bit incorrect, I ended up subbing out Rummaging Goblin for Festergloom, but otherwise that was my main deck.

In an M15 draft game last night, managed to make 8 1/1 flying deathtouch creatures, and a 17/17 Underground Scavenger
Also in that draft, I was right up against it and had only 5 cards left in my library with no action to win and potentially going to die to damage. I topdecked Liliana Vess, -2'd to find one of a pair of Covenant of Blood to stay alive by killing an attacker.
The next turn I -2 Liliana Vess to get my Gravedigger, which I cast and get back Soul of Innistrad. 3 Cards left in library.
The next turn I attack for a bunch and get back three creatures and cast two three drops. I win the next turn with 1 card left in my library.
I had such an obnoxious BR deck in an M15 draft yesterday. 2 Lightning Strike, 2 Ulcerate, 3 Flesh to Dust, 1 Covenant of Blood, 1 Goblin Kaboomist, 2 Inferno Fist + 2 Brood Keeper, not to mention I passed 2 more Covenants of Blood, A Flesh to Dust and countless Blastfire Bolts in later packs. Needless to say none of my opponents had creatures for very long. Oh, you had Ancient Silverback, 2 Siege Wurm and a Scuttling Doom Engine? Yeah I'll tell someone who cares about creatures.
Played Abzan last night. Opened a Wooded Foothills, Wingmate Roc, and Ashcloud Phoenix (foil). Got passed a Necropolis Fiend and Surrak Dragonclaw through some miracle. Had enough fixing that I went with all 5 colors, but really just splashing U for Surrak and R for Ashcloud Phoenix and removal. Round 2, Game 3, I barely manage to eek out a win against a dedicated Outlast deck by flipping Ashcloud Phoenix three times to deal the last points of damage I needed. Was probably the best draft, and luck, I've ever had.
Probably more value based bragging than awesome-pool bragging but I opened a fat pack for sealed. The first 6 boosters for sealed had a polluted delta and a windswepth heath. And the last three packs contained a wooded foothills. Also got Jeskai Ascendancy and some other 2-3€ rares. First KTK product I opened and I liked that start

My first Khans draft. Pack 1 pick 1 Bloodsoaked Champion. Pack 1 pick 2 Bloodsoaked Champion! (My neighbour got a foil Butcher of the Horde.) So I decided to go tempo, P1P3 Singing Bell Strike. Ended up with cheap black creatures, evasive creatures, tons of removal, green pump spells, and 4 Sultai mana fixers.
Then Pack 3 Pick 1, Sarkhan. Obviously I took it, but my black/blue/green was so good I couldn't see messing up the mana to squeeze a double red and cut it.
The plan worked perfectly. I played so many games where all I did was kill whatever they came out with, and then eventually play my own dudes. And I also played games where I ran in with 2 bloodsoaked champions. If they kill one, it comes back. If they play anything I kill it.

Just finished an amazing KTK draft. 4 color morphs with two secret plans. Early picks were duneblast, a later pickup was a swarm of bloodflies. That's some amazing synergy (I was left with a 13/13 flyer). Another fine play was a Villainous Wealth for 6, which nabbed a Warden of the Eye from my opponents library. So I got to run it back again the next turn.
I just got passed a Windswept Heath. I wonder what the foil was..

So today I lived the dream. Turn eight or so and the board is totally gummed up. I have a morph and a bunch of fat-butt blockers on the board to my opponents Jeskai-ish assembly. It's his turn, and he taps all his mana and exiles his graveyard to cast Treasure Cruise.
I tap six and unmorph my Keru Spellthief. My opponent just groans and passes the turn, and I happily untap, draw my card, then cast his own Treasure Cruise for free.
Oh darn, I can't play my foil Planeswalker because I have too many bombs in other colors.
