I'm at 3 life with some ground dorks and he has a 3/3 Flying Deathtouch (not yet Monstrous but with mana to activate next turn), a 4/7 Vigilance (already monstrous), Nimbus Naiad bestowed on some massive Heroic guy, and some relevant ground blocker I forget. He's killed my only air guys and I have no air defense to mount any time soon, just 2 1/4s and a Thoughtrender Lamia. I Curse of the Swine his team and pass the turn, miraculously surviving at 1 life after the Naiad's swing. Next turn I play Doomwake Giant and Scourgemark it, wiping his entire board and discarding his hand.

Parallax Wave is such a good card. And as you can see, I pretty much had the best deck imaginable for it with cards like Esper Charm, Repeal, Seal of Cleansing...
Earlier on in the draft I made my opponent rage at me in chat when I Sigil Tracered a Violet Pall three times to blow up his whole board. Magical christmas land!
This was definitely a pretty sweet "pwned" play:
At FNM last week, I drafted Hour of Need. Then I put it in my deck, along with some islands.
.
.
.
Seriously though, I have never seen that card fail to be at least a little dirty (in a good way). "In response, Hour of need targeting all three of my creatures" is one of the most satisfying sentences I've ever uttered while playing Limited, and it's not even that rare to do so.
Never have i seen a persons face drop so quickly as his whole board (including a 9/10 Monstorous creature) was turned into 2/2 swines. Then bile blighted. 4CMC board wipe.
My BG enchants deck vs. opponent W/U heroic. Hes got a good voltron going on his 0/4 heroic centaur and has a daxos of meletis in play. My board is clogged with enchant creatures, but I'm forced to chump each turn and I'm drawing nothing but land. He attacks with Daxos and pumps my Grim Guardian to keep me from blocking. He flips Feast of Dreams. I draw land. Next turn another Daxos swing, he flips Extinguish all Hope. I draw asphyxiate, cast on dax, he gives it protection. End of turn, Glimpse the sun god and he swings for lethal.
Does he? I certainly grab him early and never regret it. I think he's undervalued because he's considered a high variance card, but people forget that there are a ton of ways for UW decks to remove blockers or grant evasion. In a vaccuum he's high variance, but given the JBT card pool (and the types of commons you would likely grab anyway), the downside is dramatically reduced. Sure, sometimes you just flip lands, but any card advantage at all is just gravy.
I'm playing a BW control deck against a UW Heroic deck in THS block Swiss draft. He has 5-6 creatures and has been racing with fliers (a 4/5 wingsteed rider, Cavalry Pegasus, and a Hypnotic Siren) and I've had my scholar of athreos, servant of tymaret, and nyx sheep gaining me life. I have an Extinguish All Hope in my hand but I've been stuck on four lands for most of the game. I also have a Pharika's Cure but only one swamp so I'm just cursing. He only has a Hypnotic Siren (which he played for U?) plus the bestowed Nyx Shieldmate as things that would survive an Extinguish all hope. I draw a swamp, go to 5 lands, pass. I'm at 7 life. He swings with his team, sudden storms two of my blockers, if I block everything I can and do nothing, I take 9.
Pharika's Cure the Hypnotic Siren, go to 1.
Go to 2 off the Ram, draw the 6th land, cast Extinguish, I'm left with my two tapped enchantment creatures and he's left with his 1/2 Shieldmate.
He attacks for 1, I'm back to 1. He has nothing.
Ram and Heliod's Emissary untap, I stabilize, and eventually win.
I have GW parley deck, three squirrels from Squirrel Nest on the board, a Spirit from Rousing of Souls and three wolves. The other decks are GB, a Pillarfield Ox beatdown (a variant of the Lizard Warrior deck - his cows were 3/5 haste for 1W), and a crazy good URB goodstuff with strong board presence, but on 1 life after we ganged up on him in the beginning.
The Ox player has situation well in hand, but he decides to be generous and divide the pain, between the GB and me, when he Wrap in Flames the spirit and two of my wolves. After attacks, I am left on one life and the GB on three, but I am killing the Ox-man him back on attack by three wolves and a fresh Squirrel from the end of his round, at least taking him down at the expense of me dying.
I draw ... Intangible Virtue. He's 9, the GB player is at 3 without blocks and tapped, and the URB is at one life with strong board presence, but no way to get through to me.
I attack the Ox player for nine by the three vigilant wolves and the GB by two vigilant squirrels, killing them both. The URB untaps, hoping to draw some burn. He does, in the form of Sulfuric Vortex. In response, I Nature's Claim my own Squirrel Nest, hopping up to 5 life. In my round, I just pass and the URB is killed by his own Vortex on his upkeep.

RB aggroblins (me) vs UG Badness
(I think he was trying to play Madness... "trying" being the operative word)
Game 2 (I won game 1)
After I mull to 5 he gets some early tempo plays off Man O War, Cloud of Faeries, and Aether Mutation. This seriously stifles my development, so by the time I drop a couple dorks and a Dauthi Mercenary for the 2nd time, I'm playing from behind.
My life: 7
His: 13
My hand: Expunge
His Hand: 1 card
His board: 3 1/1 Saproling tokens, 2/2 Man O War, tapped 4/4 Flowstone artifact guy (with flying)
My lands: 7
My board: Phyrexian Defiler, 2 dorks, Dauthi Mercenary
This is where I tank a bit because I'm close to dead and have no way to answer the Flowstone. My only chance is to race. If he swings with his whole team and I block with my whole team and activate Defiler, even if he pitches 2 cards to Flowstone he cannot kill me next turn. So I don't need Expunge to handle the board at least and there aren't THAT many pump spells in this format. I decide to play for the win and gamble to not leave Expunge up. I swing with Dauthi Mercenary and activate 3 times, dropping him to 8. He draws, pauses for a bit, then just attacks in the air for 4 dropping me to 3. He then plays a land and taps out to play his last card: Penumbra Wurm. Ouch. Now I have to stop a lot of damage.
I topdeck a Skirk Prospector. Not great but enough to get the job done. I play it and swing with Marauder for 4, leaving 2 lands open. Opponent drops to 4. Opponent draws a card and swings with his whole team. He's sure he's won as the Wurm tramples, his Flowstone is unblockable, he has more creatures than me, and I'm at 3. I block the three tokens and Man O War with my untapped creatures, leaving 4/4 flying Flowstone and the 6/6 trampling Wurm unblocked. Sacrifice prospector after blocks to make red mana, Expunge the Wurm, sacrifice Phyrexian Defiler to shrink the Flowstone. He discards his last card to pump it, but that still only makes it 2/2, just 1 shy, not enough to get there. I lose my whole team and go to 1 but Marauder kills him on the back swing.
VMA sealed, round 3. My opponent is GW aggro with solid auras. I have an active Tradewind Rider and a couple Aquamoebas, but I'm still just holding on with him at 16 and me at 6.
Signalling is like farting: it's a natural thing that helps people avoid being where you are, and if you try to do it deliberately, things turn to crap fast.
Quote from Hardened »
I hereby found the American Chapter of the Zealots of Semantics. All glory to The Curmudgeon.
Back in the day in a core set release I am playing GR against a player with white-black. First game I cast Chandra Nalaar with a bunch of blockers. He can't swing through and gets Flame Weaved. Second game, Chandra returns for more. He did have a board so some creatures charred and swings later Chandra goes to the graveyard.
Nature's Spiral on Chandra. Enters and kills his last relevant creature. God he was salty.
I remembered this story because today I got a good one again. First game, a 3 / 3 creature enchanted with Burning Anger and later with Inferno Fist eats my opponent's board. Second game I get to enchant a 6 / 3 but it got a Void Snare the turn later.
-Ok, 6 to the dome.
Later in the game, I restock the Burning Anger and enchant a 8 / 8 creature.
-Void Snare to the creature.
-Ok, 8 to the dome.
Another Restock, but since my opponent was on 4, I just get the 4 damage to the face spell for the kill.
What's better than drawing the bomb? Regrowing it for a second run.
Opponent pwned himself at the prerelease:
After a mull to 6 and two! mind rots, I'm behind but have the board under control as we enter the late game. Opponent drops Indulgent Tormentor, which I have no answer to. I think I'm going to lose this game now. Then, he Mind Sculpts me and drops my Soul of Shandalar into the 'yard in the same turn! At the end of his turn, I exile it and deal with the demon, rip Seige Dragon, and beat his face in.

This is exactly why Sene posted an entire thread about why mill is NOT good in Limited. Mind Sculpt is an F-rated card IMO. I suppose if you draft 8 of them then its worth playing but that's about the only scenario in M15 I can think of and its really stretching it. Your opponent pwned himself in 3 ways:
1) presenting a deck to you (for cutting/shuffling) with Mind Sculpt in his 40
2) casting Mind Sculpt instead of realizing the card really is a place holder for "skip your draw step"
3) going to events expecting to win at Magic thinking mill is good
MtGO Holiday Cube... My opponent uses Channel to hardcast a turn four Emrakul. I'm W/B, so no way to counter the Channel and I have only six permanents in play. However, it's not my opponent's lucky day (see attachment).

I had a ridiculously clogged board state where my opponent was slowly chipping away at my bears with his enormous Ajani's Pridemate (thanks Eternal thirst) and was keeping his little 1/1s back. My Flesh to Dusts decided the bottom of my library was where all the cool kids hang out. I have a Research Assistant on the board along with a few other irrelevant creatures, 8 lands in play, and In Garruk's Wake in hand as the only card (sideboarded it in for this exact scenario). Opponent destroys one of my bears and attacks. Opponent has lethal alpha strike next turn. End of turn I use the assistant and draw a land... discard the land hoping to get another. Oh hey Chasm Skulker. You'd have been great with my Divinations at the beginning of the game.
I have 2 2/2 flyers on board as WB. I'm at 30 ish, opponent is at 9. Slowly chipping away. Cast Soul of Theros and attack bringing opponent to 5. Opponent Flesh to dusts the soul. Next turn, hard casts Endless Obedience on the soul. Next turn, I bring opponent to 1. Their turn, they swing, activate the soul and gain back all their life.
Glad I cast that soul when I did.
Lesson, if you're already winning, don't overkill it.
Regardless of whether you drew Chasm Skulker or land or something else, I don't get why you ever choose to discard the land. You absolutely needed a land drop next turn. You already had one. There is less than a 50% chance of drawing a land next turn, so there is no reason whatsoever to assume you will draw another. Why trade 100% chance of something you need for <50% chance of something you need?
