Here is my land base
2 Flooded Strand
4 Underground Sea
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 marsh flats
2 misty rainforset
2 Island
2 Swamp
looks perfectly fine to me, setting aside not using deltas yet, you have 4 fetchlands to get an island, and 5 fetchlands to get a swamp. A lot of decks use 17 lands, if you really needed to 16 could be tried out as well
say...I have 4 polluted deltas, wanna trade them for 4 underground seas haha
but yea, it is very influencial, imagine needing an island, and you pick a verdant catacombs, instead of the polluted delta that might have replaced it, that could probably be game right there bc reanimator needs to go off as quick as possible
Thanks for the advice ReaNiMaTe1. lol Yeah my 4xsea are nm I own a lot of legacy staples have a full playset of blue duals -1xvolcanic. I know it's wired I just normally use the ZEN fecthes because most my decks run few basics.

Damn that's nice, I only own 1 Underground Sea so if I play against someone using Wasteland I have to be careful when to bring it out
My finished version of the deck will one day have 3 more
How influential is running a playset of polluted delta's? I know it's the only fetch land of an significance in the deck. And can really make the difference between a win or loss.
But I have all the cards for the deck already other then the delta's. And want to start playing it and pick up a playset of delta's later.

any suggestions are appreciated.
It depends a lot on how prevalent Wastelands are locally for you. Personally, 4 Polluted Deltas is an absolute must, because I can expect to face Wastelands in more than half of my matches during an typical tournament.

Ok yeah I play against wasteland almost every matchup. My metagame consistent nearly of all teir 1 decks. I will wait on playing my reanimator until I get a playset of delta's. I just finished NO RUG only played it once so I am in no hurry. I knew polluted delta were important but didn't think they were that crucial.

Oh yea big time, as explained, they offer you the choice of the 2 main mana you need, as apposed to just a swamp (verdant catacombs) or just an island (misty rainforest)
So im currently building this deck, and have a quick question for those of you who are running it. I see lists run either careful study or hapless researcher, and i was wondering, which is the preferred option? is it a one or the other, or both sort of situation?
thanks in advanced for the answer, I'm looking forward to playing the deck, it looks like a tone of fun

The validity of my argument is directly proportional to the number of times I repeat it.
I personally like Careful Study better. Then draw 2 helps sometimes, and you can pitch multiple fatties in your hand with it. I have tried the Researcher but prefer the Studies.

the deck got better now since i don't have to worry about our entombs, reanimates, careful studies getting hit by MM. Though we DO now get screwed by surgical extraction which every deck will now be sporting.
Shoal seems interesting. Too bad you can only remove a blue card to it, meaning you would have to go up to the 8 draw spell package to stop removal, plus have to have both in hand. Still, I'll test it myself.
How are you faring with only 16 land? I've found 18 to be the best number myself.
As for targets, I don't see why you're not running at least 1 Sphinx of the Steel Wind, which is also blue for pitching, if need be. It's just great against Zoo and Goblins, the latter of which will certainly see more play now that Misstep is gone.
Iona is just nuts against certain decks, so I'd recommend running at least one of her. Along those lines, Elesh Norn will help with Dredge and Aggro in general.
Frost Titan seems very underwhelming compared to the other creatures we can reanimate.
