The main theme of the deck is to abuse the synergy of Morph creatures with Blink effects such as Momentary Blink and Otherworldly Journey, getting them into play in a hurry. The deck will often play Exalted Angel or Akroma face-down on turn 1, and have it face up on turn two. Consistency and resilience comes from cards such as Jitte, Eternal Dragon and the amazing Crucible of Worlds, which can come down on turn 1 and can recurse everything from Fetchlands to Crystal Vein, City of Traitors, Quicksand (great against Gobs!), and cards discarded to Mox Diamond. One of the strengths of the deck is its ability to regularly play out Chalice of the Void for 1 on turn one without any disruption to itself at all. Chalice for 2 and 3 can also come out quickly, and it is easy enough to win through them simply by hardcasting an angel or dragon with the big mana the deck can generate.
The deck's combo matchup is reliant on the Chalice, and powerful sideboarding options. card explanations Exalted Angel: squish aggro dead. Comes out 2 turns faster than Angel Stompy. 'Nuff said. Rockshard Elemental: A very fast clock unopposed, and a house in combat. With Jitte its a crazy threat: practically a one-hit kill. Akroma, Angel of Fury: Her main advantage is that she dodges most relevant removal in Legacy: i.e. Swords, Vindicate, bounce and burn. Ghostway: This is actually better than, say, Liberate, because it fits the mana profile. Often the 2-mana blink spells entail taking mana burn. Also, it can flip multiple morphs at once. Beware of Stifle/Trickbind.
Sideboard: Empty at the moment. Probably 4 Swords to Plowshares (which can replace the Chalices maindeck in certain matchups). Under consideration is a transformative Stax-style board for the combo matchup (i.e. Sphere of Resistance, Trinisphere etc.)
Cards still under consideration: Silent Specter(Disruption) Krosan Colossus (Its just soo big!) Quicksilver Dragon (The ability to protect itself could make it better than the Elemental.)

This is hot! I want to see how it performs to see if it's truly worth two card combo's.... The beauty is the redundancy over the ages that Flicker effects have brought.
When I get home today I'll do a card search (though I'm sure you've already done a ton, Xandercoon) on Morph creatures to see what I like...
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
I have some ideas how about some sword of fire and ice to give you card draw advantage and its protection from red can be bad news for the goblin player. Also maybe some umezawa's jittes for the random aggro and threshold and goblin matchup? Although I really like the deck alot it looks creative and pretty fun to play ive always been a huge fan of morph creatures like the recent vesuvan shapeshifter.:D
To answer some of these: Sword of Fire and Ice sounds like a great idea to give the deck reach. Skirk Alarmist: Without a reliable way to keep your hand full, this just creates one-shot effects and card disadvantage. I feel that your opponent will be doing a good enough job of filling your graveyard with morph fatties...no need to help him along.:p Temple Acolyte/Eternal Witness/Wall of Blossoms: Its an aggro deck, not a control deck. Rifter exploits these cards, but they're no good in here I feel. Loxodon Hierarch has potential though. Parallax Wave is also very interesting.

Root Elemental deosn't work and neither does Dermoplasm because it says when you flip them over not when they come into play, whis is what they are doing since the are removed then brought back into play and they are never flipped over. as said before Skirk Alarmist is poopy here because you want to keep them in play not in yout grave. Ebon Bladedoesn't make any sense becaus eyou lose half your life for a chance to lower theirs which isn't good at all the only suggestions i can make is taking out the Safe Haves for Jitte or Swords of Fire and Ice. Hopefully Time Spiral block will give us some goodies

^No that would take up too much room in the deck to be consistant and safe haven has been useless to me and i think we should replace it with either Jitte Sword of Fire and Ice or Rockshard Elemental for double strike or possibly Titanic Bulvox for the trample
Edit: or possibly we could do rock shard and jitte/sword so we can power through w/ double strike(jitte=4 counters sword= 4 targeted damage that can split and 2 cards)
That sounds like a evil idea but I like it alot.:p Yeah I definetly think jitte and sword of fire and ice would be pretty solid in this deck since with the abundance of creatures in this deck. Although maybe finding some room for swords to plowshares can be nice since it gets rid of goblin lackey, meddling mage, werebear and a bunch of other creatures in the format?
I was thinking that too but we only have 4 possible open slots it's either jitte sword or StP and i think we should have jitte mb and SoFaI in sb for goblins and RDW. The worst MU i had so far was Gobbos, what about you guys.

Sorry I havent really playtested with this deck I havent really had the time to do so I wish i could though. Well you could try some blue elemental blasts/hydroblasts to slow down goblins and there is also sphere of law and circle of protection: red to prevent goblin damage with in the sideboard of course.
It might be pointing out the obvious, but the Flicker effects (except, ironically, Flicker) can be used both to get your titanic creature, and to rescue it from your opponent's removal repeatedly. So you can either play it balls to the wall against a fast opponent by playing out your hand, or against control just play one man and keep him alive as he goes through for the win. Safe Haven was good for me in testing...
I also have an alternative idea for a W/B version with Dark Ritual (great for first-turn Morph) and Duress/Hymn...
Edit: How's this for a crazy suggestion...Dragon Breath. Blink a creature, and it comes back with haste. Haste is tech.

We live in a country were ~50% of the populace believe public schooling is a socialist conspiracy and that being called Einstein is an insult. We could try and fix it, but unfortunately the other 50% don't believe in euthanasia.
Actually, Dragon Breath does nothing, seeing as how the creature comes back into play EoT.
It comes back immediately with the Time Spiral one and with Flicker itself, but not with the others.
I just don't think its worth the trouble, and it's only really "broken" if you're already discarding things normally so that you cuold just pitch this and then not have to pay for it. Otherwise you might as well use surge of zeal or that aura that gives haste for R.... (doesn't one exist? Though I'm not seriously suggesting it...)
I think an idea to take this would be to have Chalices mainboard to set at 1 since it may play out like a stompy deck where you are casting fat on the high end and can support Chalice at 1.
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
So will this deck have problems with Combo or with Control? I think Swords to Plowshares might help out less with these, where alternatives may help. (Though, of course, it's still the best creature removal ever printed)

I hope this doesn't count as a necro (it was only page 2...)
But every now and then a card comes out which makes a deck much better.
Akroma, Angel of Fury 5RRR
Legendary Creature - Angel
Akroma, Angel of Fury can't be countered.
Flying, Trample, Protection from White, Protection from Blue R: Akroma, Angel of Fury gets +1/+0 until end of turn. Morph 3RRR
6/6
Yes...IT HAS MORPH! It is a shot in the arm for an already solid concept.
It has protection from all the most common removal in Legacy: i.e. Swords, Chain of Vapor, Vindicate. It is therefore an easy replacement for Imperial Hellkite, and an easy 4-of (if you draw multiples the extras can just be played as 2/2s.)
I also failed to remember another useful blink effect - Voyager Staff. Quite good, as it gives you something to do at the bottom of the mana curve.
Current suggested decklist:
I think this deck has some real added potential with the addition of such a strong creature as Akroma (which is really hard for most decks from the meta to deal with.) Mask of Memory may be worthwhile for the added draw. Try it out!
