Hey all, I was wondering if there's a thread for strictly the Jeskai version of Stoneblade? It seems like most people are playing esper now, so the discussion doesn't feel like it touches on the lightning bolt splash that much.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Top 8: Lost in 3 to Lands, which while tricky is winnable as long as you know to prioritize Jace as your best win con against them. Killing them via damage is very difficult, as your plows need to keep marit lage in check and them gaining 20 combined with multiple maze of iths and tabernacle keep your creatures in line.
What I'm not sure about is what I want in the sideboard. Anybody have suggestions? Note that I don't have access to more duals, so I'm kinda stuck on the UW train. I do have an additional copy of Back to Basics and enlightened tutor available.

Primary Decks:
Modern: Esper Draw-Go

EDH: Sidisi turn-3 storm
Hi - I'm highlighting my list here - this is straight UW, I 5-0d a league a few days ago (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/528484#paper) and thought people might be interested. I've also piloted this to top4 finishes at local events (20 players or so). The squadron hawks have been an amazing addition, and I feel favoured with this deck against Eldrazi, Delver and Miracles (basically 'fair' decks) with the hawks being especially good against Miracles - they can't get rid of them by Terminusing, they need to have cb lock on two and Terminus, just to deal with the hawks. You get the idea.
This deck looks awesome. I've always wanted to play Squadron Hawk in Legacy and the meta seems pretty good for them right now. The deck looks super solid imo. I'd say a back to basics or 2 could be good and might help with your crucible plan. Trimming a Jace might be good too since you're already gaining a lot of CA with the hawks.
I've been testing with a heavily influence build similar to the Japanese builds of the deck.
Been loving it so far, and have made some minor adjustments to my local meta.
It has been performing well just about every week outside of a bit of bad luck.
I started playing the Bant-Deathblade version, but I didn't really see the upside of the Noble Hierarchs. In most cases, they were irrelevant for my game plan. I decided that I was either going to switch to Esper-Deathblade og UW-Stoneblade.
In my meta there are a lot of combo decks (Monored Sneak, Show and Tell, Storm, Reanimator and so on) so either choice would prove good I think. I landed on UW-stoneblade because I feel it offers a bit more in the grindy matchups. The 4 x Snapcaster Mage + the 3 x Jace, the Mind Sculptor gives me some card advantage against control decks, and the sideboard locks down most combo decks.
Last time at my LGS it went okay for me (3-1-1). But there is still some bridges to cross before I will be able to master this deck. So here are some questions that I would love if someone would be so kind and answer.
1. Can someone tell me the pros and cons on playing Esper-Deathblade vs. UW-Stoneblade.
2. I am strugling a bit with my sideboard. I am sure about these:
The rest is up for discussion. ANY input is welcome. I just cut Gideon, Ally of Zendikar for Rest in Peace.
3. I see some lists run 2 Flusterstorm main over the 2 Spell Pierce. I feel that that improves the Storm matchup, but I am not that keen on not being able to Flusterstorm a Liliana of the Veil (Spell Pierce would be better here).
Pithing Needle is a good idea. I would imagine Containtment Priest help vs. sneak attack decks too.
I cant deal with the tokens from storm unless I have a Supreme Verdict. However, the matchup is quite good for me because of all the counters. Still considering playing 2 Flusterstorm mainboard and 2 Flusterstorms sideboard.
I might swap either Rest in Peace or Unexpectedly Absent for a Pithing Needle.
My primary question with this deck is this: Is the red splash worth it? Sure we can Blood Moon people. but wouldn't we get more value being WU instead?

My primary question with this deck is this: Is the red splash worth it? Sure we can Blood Moon people. but wouldn't we get more value being WU instead?
Personally I wouldn't go for the red splash. Blood Moon is good, but Back to Basics can be just as good in many match-ups. I do know the serve different purposes. For instance, Blood Moon is much better vs. Lands, but for me that doesnt justify the splash. The Lightning Bolts doesn't really do much either. For me the biggest reason to splash red would be the Pyroblasts in the side board.
I would take in black over red to get Thoughtsieze, Hymn to Tourach and Liliana of the Veil. I do know that UWR-Stoneblade and Esper-Stoneblade are very different in their playstyle and gameplan.
Hey guys, how crucial is True-Name Nemesis in Jeskai lists going forward? I've been seeing lists 5-0ing MTGO competitive leagues running 0 Nemesis and 4 Spellstutter Sprite. I'm asking kind of because of budget concerns, since I'm considering getting into Legacy on MTGO and the Nemesis goes for 60+ tickets there.
Hey guys, I'm new to Legacy and thinking of building this deck. I was told my meta has a lot of Lands players and I saw this list that runs Back to Basics. What do you think of the UW Basic Sword list?
I run a list with both Back to Basics and Wasteland, and I really value the mana denial that both offer. People expect Back to Basics more often now since miracles has gotten popular again, but I still really like it - if I didn't want them, I would probably just be on deathblade.
