I have been testing with one copy of Mirri's Guile and it has been fantastic. A second copy of this card might even be better, upping our turn 1 plays a bit more. Has anyone elsel tested with this card?
Hmm I am playing a single Library main. But I guess guile could be played aswell. I really like my library and could see the advantage of being able to see what you are about to dredge before dregding.
I actually placed top 4 in my last 30 man event.

I bet everyone who runs Chalice of the Void main (and that's probably a fair amount) doesn't want to get near Mirri's Guile. The 1-mana enchantment also gives you no flexibility with Dredging Loam on your draw step, thus having it get the boot and Sylvan Library getting the nod.
It might be better in versions with targeted discard, though.
...Didn't you receive the memo? Almost no one runs chalice of the void maindeck anymore. Most lists I see have completely cut the card or relegated it to the SB. And the reason is simple. We can't consistently play it turn 1 without drawing like a champion and after turn 1 chalice loses tons of power. I was never really impressed with the card at all.
I would run sylvan library over mirri's guile in here. Granted library costs 2 but guile is pure card disadvantage in here while library can replace itself. Guile is more of an enchantress only type of card due to that deck being a lot different from loam strategies they can really utilize a turn 1 guile to get turn 2 argothian enchantress.
Faithless looting seems like it could be alright in here but it doesn't seem fantastic. Sure it has sick synergy with loam but does it have better synergy than the other cards in the deck? That's also the problem, what do you cut for it?

well it does look a lot different since he is using Green sun's zenith to power it all out.
i can see where azuna is helpful but as you keep loaming up land after land.
the deck does seem light on number of big creatures for beats. I would have thought it best to go for an 2:1 split of big beaters and either punishing fire or seismic assault.
as far as burning wish goes I still chauck that up to peoples view of how useful a tool box is or not.

has anyone though genesis to a better option over volrath's stronghold?
for the same amount of mana we get creature cards returned to our hand over top of library.
only downside is it isn't instant speed like volraths is. that being said, i image only using it in event of a graveyard wipe, if thats the case then what your saving probably won't be very powerful any how until the graveyard is re built.
so how necessary is the instant speed volraths verse the restriction to upkeep of genesis?

With no way to reliably discard Genesis, and in a format where playing him risks getting him Swords to Plowshares'd, Volrath's Stronghold is the better card. We can get it with LftL and keep constantly Loaming from lowering our threat density.
I haven't used my aggro loam deck in a long time. But I play genesis because it's only RG. With faithless looting coming soon I will add it in to speed up my draws. Still working on changing to add black because I only have 3 taiga.

A little all over the place, my meta has a lot of different decks. UW Stoneforge, Maverick, RUG, Goblins, Merfolk, Burn (RU Snapcaster), Zoo and Reanimator.
I'm trying a Trinket Mage package, and so far it's helping a good bit. The mana base is even more stretched though, hasn't been too much of a problem but I miss basics. Raven's Crime has been a tremendous help against the UW stoneforge decks and random combo decks that pop up once in a while. Maindeck Bojuka Bog has also been amazing. Can help stop Snapcaster decks and makes enemy Knight of the Reliquarys puny.
Any thoughts?
I really like Matt's list. Green Sun's Zenith was something I was looking at for a while, but never actually tried.

how often do you pull progenitus out? it make sense to include it, but doesn't necessarily follow the mold of the rest of the deck.

The reason that there are 2 Knight of the Reliquary and 4 Countryside Crushers is simply because of Green Sun Zenith. It is easy to get KotR out with a Green Sun. Also since I run the Seismic Assault plan; I recycle allot of land through the graveyard so the 4 Countryside Crushers get bigger, faster then the KotR. Countryside Crusher is my main beater so, I use my KotR for doing land utility/blockers/killing strike.
how often do you pull progenitus out? it make sense to include it, but doesn't necessarily follow the mold of the rest of the deck.
Honestly, I don't get Progenitus out too often but it can really help against mid and late ranged decks. At mid range you can Natural Order for it, through using a Burning Wish. In a late game where you got an Azusa, Lost but Seeking out you may even be able to Green Sun's Zenith for it. I've had thoughts of using Terastodon for this plan instead of Progenitus. Problem is I'm going to try out Faithless Looting in here and Terastodon does not shuffle itself back in.

terastodon and other similar effects seem good for purposes of knocking off basic lands as well as anything that is problematic such as leyline of the void, yet I would think something like acidic slime would be more practical.
going either route though kind of detracts from your purpose for including progenitus.
i'm not entirely sold on faithless lootings potential in this deck as of yet. if that kind of effect were so good i can't help but think that careful study would have made a more frequent appearance in deck lists pasts.

I played in a 52 person tournament and went 2-3 drop. I will post my decklist once I get more time. I'm just posting my losses.
RUG 0-2
The first game I played wrong twice. I was being to careful and trying to get more creatures out and had devastating dreams and 3 cards in hand with Goyf as a 4/5. He played Snapcaster in response, lightning bolt and blocked. Game 2 I just couldn't keep up with2 Delvers turn 1 and 2. He countered all my removal.
Affinity 1-2
Game one i kept a decent hand but he emptied his hand turn 1. Turn 2 Tezzeret getting cranial plating. Game 2 Terravore and chalice at 0 had him stuck with Mox Opal Ornothopter and Memnite. The I wished for loam and it was over. Game 3 he goes off turn 1 again. I wish for shattering spree turn 1 with 2 Mox damonds and taiga. He plays a land and attack. I play another land and clear his board leaving 1 darksteel citadel and springleaf drum. I don't draw a creature the whole game. He restabilizes and wins.
Mono B 1-2
This game was bad. I only have the 2 lands I started with and never drew another he wins. Game 2 he only draws 2 lands I win. Game 3 I only draw 2 lands he wins.
1. I like burning wish but sometimes it's just to slow, and with a wish board I cant really sideboard. Does the deck work good without it?
2. I can't decide what to do with chalice. Every game I get it I won, even when I played it late because they can't draw or get rid of my creatures anymore. But I hate drawing extra.
