I thought 4 md innocent bloods was interesting, since he doesn't run any creature it is pretty fast and efficient. It does look pretty slow, but maybe it has the methodology and tactics to bring the fast decks down to earth and force them to play his game.

The thing I like about it from looking at it is that it just stops unfair decks and puts them at an absolute halt. It doesn't answer all the 2-for-1s in the format though. I would almost always advocate running Toxic Deluge over Massacre, but I can't argue the results either.

I still believe tarmogoyf is still the best beater of choice, solely for the reason that its CC is 2. It's called shardless bug for a reason and as such we need to build around it. Also it wouldn't be better then any other true-name deck, for we don't use equipment and we have no way to pump him. Plus nothing feels better then cascading into a goyf against an empty field with a full graveyard. I would need pretty compelling results to play true-name in this deck. If I want to play true-names I would run it with stoneforge, not here.
I have been playing this pure control build to some success in test matches.
I believe that current TNN meta makes Pernicious Deed very good. I realize that it may be a bit awkward to run DRS in a Deed deck but truth is he is a sacrificial pawn when he needs to be.
I played this deck against Affinity, Belcher and a UWGB Stoneblade list and won the majority of the games in testing. The only card in this 60 that I am questioning is Intuition. It seemed a bit clunky and I was only able to cast it twice. First time it was spell pierced, second time it resolved allowing me to find 3 wastelands to waste my opponents Creeping Tarpit which allowed me to live for a turn but didn't win me the game. That could easily be a fourth Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
Chris Vanmeter rocking the Marsh Casualties in BUG Control at the Indy Open. I didn't see for sure but I assume it's in the sideboard.
I am seriously liking his deck a lot. Straight bug control, forget white and stoneforge, kill them with plainswalkers and man lands and kick True-name in the nuts on a daily basis. And you can actually afford to play wasteland because of deathrite, unlike stoneblade. I really hope he ends up writing an article about it and if not, I want to brew in those colors. The only real thing I miss is swords to plowshares, as black doesn't seem to have a cheap instant removal of this caliber. Anyways, time to brew!

Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. What kind of creatures does BUG control run? And how many? Cuz if it's just a few creatures, then wouldn't it not matter if it could kill your stuff?
If it's Shardless, I kinda get it I guess. But if it's straight BUG control with only 4x Deathrite Shaman, how relevant is the "drawback?"
Not really knocking on either card (Marsh Casualties nor Golgari Charm). Either one seems pretty good. Just curious.
Well their version was running 3 snapcasters and 2 cliques, so the charm kills both of those. and they also had true names of their own in their sideboard, so if the plan was to kill enemy true names while beating with our own ones, then marsh casualties make much more sense then the charm.

nope, but this is what i reverse engineered from the coverage and Patrick Sullivan as he was talking about the general lines of the list:
4 deathrite
3-4 snapcaster mage (probably more 3 than 4)
2 vendilion clique
1 preordain
4 brainstorm
4 decay
3-4 jace (probably more 3 than 4)
2 thoughtseize
4 liliana
4 force of will

So I am picking up this deck (Shardless BUG) and should have it completed by Monday. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good "How to play" the deck videos/articles. I have been searching the net for SCG/GP games and have played a budget version a couple of times and I get the overall game plan but probably not some of the other common/intricate lines.
Very Satisfied with the deck over all the one thing i'm thinking about changing up is dropping the 2 Notion Thief from sideboard, moving 2 Vendilion Clique to the sideboard, and adding 2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor to the main deck. Never cast a Vendilion Clique against an opponent and only used it to cycle a card in my hand which having a Jace, the Mind Sculptor would have been better in all situations I had the Vendilion Cliques in hand. I do not want to drop the Liliana of the Veil count below 3 because I had a couple times where I was able to kill a creature, cast a second Liliana of the Veil to get a discard, and help sculpt Tarmogoyf 5/6 very early.
I'm surprised there's no talk on the BUG list from the Invitational. Normally I wouldn't really look too hard at the Invitational lists as the tournament is half Standard, but it took top 8 on the back of a 7-1 Legacy performance.
The one thing I've always wanted from BUG control was to go back to the days where you could just jam Jace, Liliana, and Pernicious Deed. But when DRS came out it accelerated the pace at which other decks were able to operate, and you all but had to run DRS yourself to keep up, and of course Pernicious Deed is incredibly awkward with DRS.
So that said, I was incredibly hype to see somebody go back to Deed and run it with Explorer and Therapy ala Nic Fit to still have that acceleration. With of course the added bonus of Explorer providing even more acceleration... and you know... Karn...
I'm certainly excited to try this out myself.
Anyone still playing this deck? I'm a fan of the BUG control and would like some new discussion going and some tips on piloting the deck. Anyone else think a Kiora in the board isn't a bad idea?
Since there seems to be a fair amount of discussion of Shardless BUG lists here, how does Volrath's Stronghold work in that list? I've been trying it as a 1-of, but I haven't actually had it come up yet.
I've been pretty successful but still have trouble with Burn and Batterskull. I kind of want to use Kiora in a trial in the MB as a 1 of. Seems like a decent card in a lot of matchups but maybe too cute.
Shardless BUG seems fairly consistent at SCG Opens recently. Anybody still on it here? I'm one Tropical Island and a Flusterstorm or two away from having it built.
wow I guess not. BTW, I have it fully built now and have been playing it to some success. It's a blast to play. I would have thought more people would be playing it, considering the success it's been having. Nobody?
Sometimes I hate cross-posting from The Source, since it can lead to having the same discussion with many of the same people in two places, but we've had some good discussion on TNN BUG Control Lists (no Delver, no Agent) there (thread link).
My fondness and emphasis on Liliana, and most of my choices, especially the use of Tarmogoyf, are in the last few pages of the thread.
@Manroe, Daze sticks out like a sore thumb in that list. Is it really pulling its weight? (Do you play in Alton? I think I've messaged you before - I've been there a few times.)
I am back at it. Totally my favourite deck of all time in Legacy, as the only way I lose to this is usually Blood Moon, RUG Delver tampering with my manabase with Stifle + Wasteland + Daze, or some super-fast combo that I cannot answer with either Force of Will or discard. Here's the list I'm running:
Tasigur, the Golden Fang - Sometimes I find myself without enough board presence. 1-2 Tasigur to act as Goyfs 5-6 would be really ideal, while also upping our threat count. Delve means we shrink enemy Goyfs and neuter DRS, and 5 butt means it can block goyfs all day. His ability can be used as a mana sink in the late turns to crawl back into the game and slowly drown our opponent in card advantage. Plus, with this and DRS it means we can control what we can get back.
Dig Through Time - The remaining Blue Delve card, let's us dig 7 cards deep and keep the best two, which can be used in order to find an answer to that giant Goyf / Batterskull, Liliana of the Veil to kill their True-Name Nemesis, a Force of Will to stop the combo player, or simply sideboarded hate that we need at the moment.
On a different note, Baleful Strix has been really overperforming for me. It's like a cantripping removal spell that can also chip away at their health and can be cascaded to put us back from a losing position against a complicated board state. Stops Tombstalker, Delver of Secrets, Tarmogoyf, Griselbrand, and Emrakul, the Aeons' Torn (althought the Annihilator will still hurt) besides from the usual creatures. He's so good that I have two more in the board agains swarm matches to stabilize the board alongside Jitte.

@Manroe, Daze sticks out like a sore thumb in that list. Is it really pulling its weight? (Do you play in Alton? I think I've messaged you before - I've been there a few times.)

Cards I'd like to include:
On a different note, Baleful Strix has been really overperforming for me. It's like a cantripping removal spell that can also chip away at their health and can be cascaded to put us back from a losing position against a complicated board state. Stops Tombstalker, Delver of Secrets, Tarmogoyf, Griselbrand, and Emrakul, the Aeons' Torn (althought the Annihilator will still hurt) besides from the usual creatures. He's so good that I have two more in the board agains swarm matches to stabilize the board alongside Jitte.
