Andrew Cuneo/Gainsay has been running around MTGO with a UG combo enchantress that bounces all your opponent's permanents and then beats you down with a 1/1 flier. Does discussion of this deck belong on this forum?
Supposedly so.
I still can't believe how much that thing worked so well. The main deck selections are SO Meta specific, It's a wonder how he basically overwhelmed the aggro dominated field. It's crazy good!
Granted that most of the time, he was basically facing blue, either it's Ux control or RUG Delver, making MD carpet of flowers that much effective.

thank you. wow that's interesting and quite familiar looking lol.
This is essentially the same deck that came out about 3 years ago. Enchantress used to use Words of Wind to bounce everything.
It's mostly because he's one of the first guys who showed off the deck for the extended format back in Worlds 2003.
Eternal Witness seems to be his choice of recursion. Via Words of wind, it's a continuous repeatable process. Must be his reason since Replenish is limited to just 4 times.
i would like to point out that this enchantress deck runs zero confinements and zero groves. Which I and I assume the rest of the enchantress community have always taken as a must have.
It ran energy field in the sb, which is blue's equivalent of confinement. With its gy shenanigans, recursion was possible. I think the list is worth at least a piloting experience if not some tinkering. Ill do some testing on a list that was based off of it and give some results. One drawback I foresee, though, is the loss of advantage from choke. I think maybe a pair of sea's claim and spreading seas might be worthwhile in the 60 with the MB carpets.

interestingly enough this deck does not run many islands and could easily be designed to get more blues sources from nonbasic. So it could run blue and run choke.
Seems really really anti blue.... but blue is like the largest % of the field. So if you have one color to hose, it's your best pick. It's like picking 7's in craps.
Went to my very first Legacy event this week-end. I chose to pilot this deck since I already play a casual Enchantress deck very close to this built and hence had almost all the pieces, aside from the duals.
Overall, I had a fairly good first experience with the format. My only real handicap was that I didn't knew what to expect as far as meta goes. I guess I was well prepared to face most aggro/tempo deck, but could have studied a bit more about the big combo deck out there.
Made it 9th btw, missing top 8 by a tiny .005 on the tiebreakers (only one person at 9 points made it to top 8).
Really didn't knew what this deck was about. Game #1, he combo out on turn five or six. I scoop after he casts Emrakul.
-1 Oblivion Ring
+1 Choke
He has a hard time digging up for his combo pieces. I build up my board position and finally hit Words of War with my massive draw engine (3 Argothian and 2 Presence). I tap out to get it online and pass. He sees that he is on the verge of getting massively burned by WoW and starts digging his deck. He hits Cunning Wish on a BSZ, fetch Brain Freeze and mills me for 33, which is exactly the number of cards I had left in my deck.
0-1
Round #2: vs Painter Servant
I should really have won this round. Game #1, saw Painter hit the table and realised I was probably facing this combo. I topdeck E-Tutor, but don't have any enchantments to play to draw the tutored card. I decide to hold my tutor for his EoT. On his turn, he goes on with Magus of the Moon while I had 2 Temple Garden and a Taiga among my 4 lands. I scoop when he drops Grindstone a few turns later, unable to topdeck anything else than fetches.
-4 Elephant Grass
-1 Oblivion Ring
+4 Leyline of Sanctity
+1 Aura of Silence
Have to mulligan down to 4 cards after getting some really poor hands. He gets a Painter online early while I'm stuck two Forest, one being enchanted with a Sprawl set on White and an Aura of Silence in hand. He Pyroblast my enchanted forest and got hit Grindstone next turn. I scoop.
0-2
At this point, I'm fairly disappointed with my deck performances. But, it will finally get a chance to shine!
Round #3: vs GRU Delver
Game #1, he mulligan to 5 and gets a Goyf out early. I Runed Halo it and build up a clear board advantage, including Sigil. I swing for 24 for an easy win.
-1 Wheel of Sun and Moon
-1 Oblivion Ring
+1 City of Solidtude
+1 Choke
Game #2, he ends up tapping out to hardcast a FoW on my Confinement. I followup with Choke and he remains tapped out while i slowly burn him with Words.
Woot! First ever Legacy win!
1-2
Round #4: vs Maverick
Game #1, he taxes me with a turn 2 Thalia. I O-ring her only to see him get a second copy into play. Just as if taxing me isn't enough, I cant draw any decent card for the rest of the game. He makes mincemeat out of me.
-1 Wheel of Sun and Moon
+1 Oblivion Ring
Game #2, he gets really aggressive early game and drops my life to 5 with 2 KotR. I'm able to stall to game with 2 well-timed Grass. I finally draw Words and clean his board. When everything is dead, I concentrate on him for a few turns. He won't be able to comeback.
Game #3, ended up going to 5 turns. I managed to stall him all game long and could never draw a finisher. I had Grove into play, but had to keep it to coverup my Confinement (he had a Pridemage into play, was heavily digging for a 2nd one to get both enchantments out at the same time). I put an Ascension on the board shortly before the 5 turns mark and overwhelm him with lots of Angels produced by my 16 mana Sanctum.
2-2
Round #5: vs something I can't figure with U
Game #1, the guy plays a Tundra and SDT. That's is all he is gonna play during game #1. (why did he kept this apparently crappy hand, no one knows...)
- Didn't SB anything since I haven't seen anything of his deck
Game #2. I expend my board and with 3 enchantress out, play an Elephant Grass to draw. For some reason only he knows, he FoW it (?!?). I draw my cards and he calls up the judge claiming he had countered and I shouldn't be getting my cards. Wrong. Rest of the game was a piece of cake. Only had to manage his Jace2 with Runed Halo and O-Ring as soon as it hit the board and beat him with Angels.
I build up my board position and finally hit Words of War with my massive draw engine (3 Argothian and 2 Presence). I tap out to get it online and pass. 0-1
but with words of war out, you won't have lost, no? granted it'd have reduced to 2 damage a turn but you could grind him out until he hits his BSZ again, if time permits
Hello all. I've finally put a version of this together and plan ti play Thursday at my LGS. I would appreciate any comments or critique on my seventy five:
You're playing Sacred Ground as well. I would have said, in addition Centucky Fried Faerie's response, anything that runs Wasteland, Vindicate & Disenchant. To an extent for Qasali Pridemage but that's usually all Maverick runs that "destroys" our permanents.
If you were going to add Crop Rotation, probably a Replenish or the MD Leyline of Sanctity. Seeing you are running Choke main, I'll assume you know you're going into a heavy Blue environment. If that's the case, Leyline.

has anyone proxied up the new UG enchantress? It's quite good but it seems like it has no way of getting to its win condition besides raw card draw and has no cure all defense such as confinement.
crimhead did you have any luck with maindeck leyline? and what's your thoughts on mirri's guile?
Also Aura Of Silence has always been a maindeck for the mirror. It might be able to be cuts since it's so rarely a deck you'd have a mirror match with.
(I kinda wish I could see what a mirror would look like)...

Depending on the lists, if it's GWr's, whoever can drop Solitary/Sterling lock first and keep it out will win, otherwise it'll probably be whoever doesn't run Wheel loses because Words requires a valid target to activate I believe. Very long and drawn out discard, enchant, draw go. If there's a GU list, they can tear down the Sterling lock, but they have to survive War/Sigarda/Angel Swarm.
One thing I haven't seen in too many lists, that I have been running, is a 2/2 split between Wild Growth and Exploration. Sprawl is too good for us not to run 4 of, as it color fixes, Exploration is a Sprawl/Growth early game and can get us a little extra mana midgame. Also, with the GU list, you can also bounce a land & Exploration to refresh, especially if you run a single/double Sanctum for the mana generation (3 Enchantress effects + Cloud + Exploration + Sanctum + 1-2 forest/Tropical w/ growth/sprawl + Wind = infinite mana/draw, convoluted I know, but very feasible with the deck).
I know there has been debate vs. Sigarda/Emrakul in the MB. If you're running GSZ, Sigarda SHOULD be in your 60. She is a fetchable wincon and will stall Hypergenesis and Sneak Show vs. Emrakul. Emrakul is, IMO SB material for said m/u, although GU can run him a little easier (Cloud + Wind + Growth/sprawl lands for mana/dig)
I have tried out the Sea's Claim/Spreading Seas to improve Choke and Carpet use, and found it actually useful in most m/u. When using Wind, first activation should be any "island" enchantment to keep it in hand (unless witness engine is going).

I'd cut Enlightened Tutors before Groves. There's a reason we run four of the latter vs one of the former. Groves protect our enchantments, trigger Enchantress (and Sigil), enhance Sanctum, and recur via Replenish. They're awesome!
But I'm new to this deck, so get a second opinion.
