Went to another event tonight. 9 people showed up. Went a mediocre 2-2. Here are the matches:
0-2 Maverick - Never saw an Entomb.
0-2 Dredge - Never saw an Entomb.
2-0 Zombardment -Nutty Brainstorms got there.
2-0 Reanimator - He never got to put a guy into the bin and I never let him keep a reanimation spell. Silence was great for avoiding countermagic.
I had 1 Children of Korlis and I really missed it against Reanimator. I bricked on 21 cards, not finding Tendrils. I really like the inevitability that it provides. I'm going to cut either the Island or the 8th fetch for Children #2 and see where it goes from there.
what do you guys think of the sneak&show board xform? Been testing 4x sneak, 4x show, 3x tomb, 2x gris, 2x emrakul. In theory I like it alot because I feel like the deck really only loses to graveyard hate, but havent really been able to test it vs all that many decks.

I suggested this in development when I first saw the deck for the same reasons. In practice, you need more mana sources to make it work. Try it out playing on SB games (to test with Sneak in and reanimation out) -- let me know if that works out better than just playing Sneak Show itself.

well ive been boarding in 3 ancient tombs, so mana wise, compared to a normal sneak list, you are just missing 2 city of traitors, but you get 4 probes 4 rituals and 2 moxes. obviously casting sneak attack and activating it is much more awkward than casting show and tell. probably worth making the main deck swamp into a badlands for that reason. may even want the tundra to be a volcanic. ung... how valuable has that tundra been for you?
This is the latest iteration of the Tin Fins deck. I piloted it to a 9-6 record at Bazaar of Moxen (going 7-2 Day 1, and fatigue/lack of sleep effecting me Day 2)
Yes, the deck is 61 cards. You can eliminate an Underground Sea or a Gitaxian Probe to bring it to 60. I don't think it will effect the consistency too greatly either way at 60 or 61.
In an effort to mix things up I had opted to play tinfins at the last tournament. I unfortunately didn't make a great sideboard in time. Here's what I played:
Admittedly those numbers can change but those tended to be the main cards I was siding in.
Again, mostly looking for sideboard options. Pithing needle I regretted not packing. But this also seems a good spot for deck discussion as it seems to have fallen off the map.
And for what it's worth I ended up 3rd even with minimal side boarding.

Not a fan of Show & Tell or any spell costing more than 2 mana in this deck. Part of the reason this deck is so explosive is because of how cheap the spells are. Adding Intuition and Show & Tell will require that you play more lands. Once you do that, you hurt your chances of winning early with a hasty Griselbrand.

I agree the deck is explosive and that is very much fine game 1. Game 2/3 however I like the option of being able to ignore the graveyard. I am running 1 more mana source and 1 more basic then your given list. That is an attempt to help the later game a little do those 3 mana spells can be cast.
I will also suggest that card selection is part of the explosiveness, ie can I assemble the necessary cards, which is also why I wanted intuition. The games I lost were to myself, not to anything my opponents did.
As far as intuition is concerned it will get the axe. It was always first to be boarded out and there was only one game I actually wanted to cast it.
In the end I came to this list from not liking aspects of your list. Perhaps using your list more then I did may change my mind on a lot of things though.

I've been running rukcus's list, but -4 Gitaxian Probe +1 Griselbrand, +1 Children of Korlis, and +1 Thoughtseize. The Silence vacillates between it and maindeck bounce as a meta-slot. It's been working out pretty well lately. It feels a bit more stable than the 2-Griselbrand list I had run previously. I'm a big fan of the 1-2-3 build since it relies a bit less on Entomb, and can produce more disruption if need be. I like the extra inevitability of the second Children as well.
I tried running maindeck Probes and they never really felt right. They were great for providing information, but I never liked the marginal hands they kept producing. They provided easy sideboard bait, but I want something that does more than just get sided out first, especially as a 4-of. I might try them again and see if I feel the same.
Played tinfins at scg Baltimore this past weekend wad 5-1-1 and in 12 after 7 rounds then lost an off. Camera feature match to Gerald fabiano playing deathblade he had all the answers when he needed them and I just couldn't get there.
This deck is sooooo fun and has game vs everything just sideboarding is tough I wad taking out 4 probes a chrome mox and a fetch almost every round
Here is what I played
1 island
1 swamp
2 underground sea
1 scrubland
1 tundra
4 polluted
4 Marsh
Vs jund
-4probe -1 mox
+2 pull +2 chain +1 echoing
Vs painter
-4 probe -1 mox
+2 pull + 2 chain +1 echoing
Vs deathblade
Same as stoneblade
Vs death and taxes
-4 probe -1 reanimate -1 mox -1 vengence
+2 needle +2 pull +2 chain +1 echoing
Vs rug delver
-4 probe -1 mox -1 Marsh -1 reanimate
+2 pull +2 silence +1 echoing +2 chain
I'm not sure how other people are boarding with this deck but I feel I want abrupt decays and serenitys after playing this I would like to know how u guys are boarding as well I gave it a good run if my stupid rug player would have just conceded to me I might have been a le to draw in who goes to time playing against rug he played so slow
I saw him on cam round 7 I think as he had back to back turn 1s it was sick
Silly folks don't know the power and resilancy if this deck. I hope it lays low as I have a big event in November to conquer just trying to figure out the sideboard plan
The sideboard you have is really old. Swap as many Echoing Truth to Chain of Vapor as possible. Hurkyl's was used not because it's good, but because I didn't have a 2nd Serenity nor a 3rd Chain of Vapor. Pull from Eternity is next to useless; Silence is flat out better against Extirpate/Surgical.

Hey guys, Logan here, here's my report for SCG. 7-1-1 in Swiss, then losing the first round in top 8 for an overall record of 7-2-1.
Round 1: Sean on Fish
I win the dice roll, and keep a hand with Probe, Cabal Therapy, Thoughtseize, Entomb, Dark Ritual, Ponder, and a fetch. I probe him and see Force, Lord of Atlantis, Vial, Curse Catcher, Island, Wasteland, and Phantasmal Image. I draw another land off the probe, then Therapy the Curse Catcher. He ends up topdecking another Curse Catcher and plays that. I draw another Ritual, play my land,Thoughseize the Force, and play Ponder. I find a reanimation spell. I pass, he plays another land and a lord. I draw a lotus petal and proceed to go off with more than enough mana to pay for Curse Catcher.
Sb: 3 Silence, -3 Probe.
He leads off with Vial and passes. I probe him, and then Cabal Therapy his only force. Next turn I win with Silence protection.
Round 2: I didn't write down my opponent's name, but he was on OmniClash/Knowandtell.
He wins the dice roll and plays a ponder. I Probe him, and see that he has the god hand and will win next turn. He does.
Sb: -3 Probe +3 Silence
Game 2 he gets a Leyline of Sanctity on t0, but I don't draw any hand disruption, so I don't care. We durdle around for 5 turns while I attempt to find an Entomb and end up with a lot of mana sources and 3 Silences in hand when I go off on turn 6.
Game 3: He gets the Leyline again, and I keep a hand that has 2 Silences and only missing an Entomb. I end up drawing a Griselbrand on t3. On his t4, he Show and Tells. I silence in response, it resolves. I flip Griselbrand, he shows Dream Halls. Next turn, I silence again, it resolves, and I swing with Emrakul and Griselbrand.
Round 3: Andrew on UWR Delver (he also hit top 8).
I win the dice roll, and do the turn one Probe into Therapy. I see Stoneforgex2, bolt, a brainstorm, and some land. I take the Brainstorm. I end up getting him on turn 2 with no resistance.
sb: -3 Probe +3 Silence
I get a protected turn 1 kill with Land, Petal, Silence, Rit, Entomb, Grave.
Round 4: Sean on Jund
Game 1 I keep a hand that needs a Reanimation spell, and I end up not finding it. He doesn't know what I'm on.
Game 2 I get him on t2. He asked if I sideboarded into Reanimator. I laugh.
Game 3: I keep yet another hand lack a reanimation spell. I draw into a Griselbrand, but after a few ponders and brainstorms, couldn't find one. Eventually, I burned 2 Rituals to cast Griselbrand alongside the Children of Korlis I played the turn before. His board was 3 lands, 2x Deathrite Shaman, and a Goyf, with 1 card in hand. I pass turn, and he draws Maelstrom Pulse to kill my Griselbrand (I was at 6 life). He gets me with Bolts and Deathrite Activations.
Round 5 Feature Match (not on Camera) against Eric on budget GW Maverick.
He wins the dice roll and goes turn 1 Horizon Canopy into MoM. I play a fetch, and Ponder, finding the Entomb I need to win next turn. He then goes t2 Horizon Canopy into Leonin Arbiter. AWKWARD. I spend the next two turns playing fetches that I can't crack, then end up playing dark ritual to pay the search tax. I crack my fetches, do the Entomb and reanimation and win.
SB: -1 Silence -1 Probe +1 Chain +1 Echoing Truth (I was cursing myself for choosing to run Pull over Massacre at this point, despite winning the first game)
Game 2 I draw into the turn 1 kill. Who needs to kill hatebears when you can just win on your first turn?
Round 6: Chris on Burn.
I draw a fair amount of hand disruption, but it's not enough to hold him off before I can find the last piece I need (FIREBLAST! *shakes fist*).
I want to say I boarded in 2 Silences and 1 Chain of Vapor here.
Game 2 I get him on turn 2.
Game 3 I keep another hand that lacks reanimation, and end up on turn 2 using Reanimate on Griselbrand, dropping down to 10. I cautiously swing with Griselbrand for the next 3 turns, and not do anything else. Griselbrand gets there in the end.
Round 7: Feature match (back up camera) against Gene on Jund.
I probe him turn 1 and he moans about playing against a combo deck. I get him on turn 2.
-1 Silence -2 Probe, +2 Needle +1 Pull
Game 2: Whackity Smackity turn 1 win. He was not amused by my antics.
Round 8: Feature Match (main camera) Versus Joe on Omniclash (I had assumed that's what he was playing, but wasn't sure until I saw the video when I got home).
You can see my hands shaking, I was excited to get those back to back turn 1s on camera. Apparently those were the first t1 kills on Camera that day. I boarded out the Probes for the Silences as per usual. On that game 2, If he had countered the Silence, I still would have gone for it, for those who were wondering.
Round 9 vs Edward (this guy also was in top 8)
We ID. I then wait the longest hour of my life to see if I made it into the top 8. I make it by a few fractions of a percentage points! I was excited, my friends were giving me high fives, etc.
In boarding for Game 2, I figured that my best chance to win would be on t1/2 and decided to bring in my Silences to combat his lone Forces. I felt that bounce and the Serenties would be too slow, and that he would plan around those. I was correct on that assumption. However, for game 3, I should have boarded in the counter hate since I was going to be on the draw. I didn't really think about it due to the long day, and was wanting to be done at that point. My opening hand had Entomb and a lot of Cabal Therapy, and I felt good about it. I don't know when he drew that ensnaring bridge, but I knew that I needed to stick a threat soon. I figured that I would have at least 1 turn to swing with Griselbrand, but I was wrong (he only had the 1 Bridge). As soon as he landed it, I knew that the game was over, but I stayed with it to see if I could draw into Tendrils for a Win. But after the hate upon hate upon hate, that wouldn't happen. If you could see my face, you could see a huge grin since I was just sticking with it to be a jackass, but still. I consider this to be my only punt of the day. That being said, I'm still extremely pleased with making Top 8, this was my 3rd SCG and was only hoping to make top 64 going into the day.
With as often as I feel silence is brought in from the board for probes have you ever tarried playing the silences main don't get me wring I love the probes but so often you probe a hand that if u had a silence you would just win. Don't have much a legacy crowed at my local shop so I don't get to test much just was wondering if you guys have. And I d had the chains and truth splits do too recent uprising of chalice decks in the local area and my lack of serenitys.
I prefer Probe mainboard because Silence can be a dead card against certain decks, whereas Probe can always give me relevant information.
Probe also allows me to keep greedy hands with no land or hands that are a single piece from winning on t1/2 and allow me to lucksack.
On the whole, a lot of Legacy decks aren't running much Force of Will as of late, a few of them are running 3 main. With Probe and a lot of discard, you can clear the one Force out, then win the next turn, or do both on the same turn if you have the right hand.
You moxed a LDV, and tapped it for ponder. The commentators were wondering why. Was it because you were looking for something to keep going off?
I was missing a single piece... And I don't quite remember what it was, I think it might was either an Entomb, Dark Ritual, or a Reanimation spell. I was trying to get out Emrakul to get that kill, but couldn't find that last piece, so Mox for Ponder was a last ditch effort to find it before having to resort to Tendrils.
While I am with you on the probes do too lack of main deck fow it seems as though snare and Pierce are in the uprise
Pierce you can play around, just make more land drops or bait with Dark Rituals. Snare you have to power through, unless you have discard to get rid of them.
Silence helps in sideboard games. Probes are really good in the maindeck to know when you're ready to go off. In SB games, you're likely to go into a longer game as you react to g/y hate cards and that's where Probe is disadvantaged.

I'm going to slowly work my way into building the deck, and I need some advice on which lands to invest in first.
I have no duals, but I do have one of each fetch (from my cube). Do I invest in the duals and make do with my fetches? Do I buy one Sea, then invest in my fetches? Or do I make do with an alternates mana base until I can assemble all the correct fetches and duals at the same? Scars duals and something like gemstone mine seem like they would do relatively well until I get everything I need.
With my anticipated budget, it's going to take me close to 6 months to buy the stock list, and I don't want to just sit out of legacy events until then.

Blogging isn't writing; it's graffiti with punctuation. Trade Thread
Dual then fetches. Fetches do a lot of work, but being able to access multiple colours off of a land is key. 2 of each dual and play sets of fetches is the route to go. That should be the minimum you need to play any deck. So to start with 1 dual and move to the fetches will be a good path to choose.

That's pretty good advice for this deck. You can easily build it with only 2 USea. I would make sure when you work on picking up Fetches, that they are all able to search out Swamps however. That is the most important land for this deck.

Another question on land-base: I own the 2xUnderground Sea, Scrub, Tundra, 4xMarsh Flats and ONE Polluted Delta. Does it make sense to temporarily replace the other three Deltas with three not-Delta blue fetches (I've got plenty of those lying around) or is there a better option?

540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyI was missing a single piece...

That's pretty good advice for this deck. You can easily build it with only 2 USea. I would make sure when you work on picking up Fetches, that they are all able to search out Swamps however. That is the most important land for this deck.
