So I've been playing deadguy ale.... for awhile and recently I had been trying out a deck called "the gate" so I tried putting them together and came out with what I have below and so far its been doing fairly well I do however still need some feedback from others since more then one brain working on a deck is great. I posted it in a thread for the gate and got told it wasn't really the gate because I didn't run bitterblossom, so I figured I'd come here for some feedback.
What I'd really like to do is fit in a third mystic and I really need help with a sideboard as my old sideboard is well... dated... I mean back when gobos won everything dated... lol.
The green splash is really great. Tarmogoyfs would be nice but they are not really necessary.
First round:
Affinity: It was close the first game but after side boarding I easily beat him. The K-Grips really shined here and I was glad I had them.
(2 - 0)
Second round:
Faeries: First round I had a god hand but started 2nd which changed every thing because he a had perfect hand to counter mine. nothing for me to take with first turn Duress, Spelstutter Sprite for my 2nd turn hymn and again for my 3rd turn hyppie. the next two rounds I landed engineered plagues and it was a walk in the park.
(2 - 1)
Third round:
Eva Green/ Loam hybrid: I won the first game easily but second game I mulled down to 5 and he wasted my only land. the third game just kept swining backwards and forwards until time up Pernicious Deed helped me stay in this one.
Fourth round:
Imperial Painter: On the first game a top-decked Pernicious Deed saved me and I was able to win. The second round I Swords'ed his painter, then Vindicated his grind stone then another Painter and K - Griped another Grind Stone and easily won from there.
(2 - 0)
Over all I am very happy with this green splash as small as it is it makes a big difference.

@ Jimbo: Congratulations with your finish. How are Dark Rituals playing out for you lately? I've moved away from Dark Rits myself recently and haven't really missed them.
The dark rituals are Bah-roken, they just allow some amazing starts I love them, every time I get close to taking them out I am reassured about how good they are.

I used to cry "heresy!," whenever the suggestion came up to remove the Dark Rits, but lately I've felt them to be subpar. Considering we typically run a 2-3 color splash, as well as a limited (if any) number of Tombstalker's, Ritual has lost much of it's inherent power. While a late-game is against our plan, it does happen, and in those cases a topdeck Ritual is completely useless, so I have opted finally to take them out.
Originally I ran MBA, but then decided Bob was more than necessary to run. I also needed a way to get rid of Planeswalkers, so I needed Vindicate/Maelstrom Pulse. I chose white so as to obtain StP. I thought my b/w build was original, but aparantly it's called Deadguy. Lol. Here is the current list I'm planning to take to a 40+ person tournament:
I opted for 4 SDT's because I'm essentially running 8 3c and 1 8c, so I figured filtering would help, not to mention the 4 Thoughtseize/8 fetches. Originally I ran Smother in place of Mom's, but figured that
A) She's an extra beater
B) She can block any creature if need be.
C) She can offer protection.
Thusly, she's slightly more versatile. Not to mention she's a 1c.
I see a lot of builds that run Hippie as a 4- of, but I frankly feel he's lost his edge. Sure, T1 Hippie is considered one of those dream hands, ie. T1 Duress/Hymn, T1 Negator, etc. Nighthawk, however, can kill a creature, and more importantly, can offset all the pain the deck runs. Think about it: 8 fetch, 4 thoughtseize, AND 4 Bob. We're more likely to finish ourselves off than our opponents. Lifegain beyond equipment is important.

I think you're running way too many SDTs otherwise it looks good. But personally, I'd run Enlightened Tutor over Mystic. Cost less mana, and can get you stuff like Pernicious Deed/Engineered Plague/Choke/Pithing Needle and COP: colors from the board.
*sniffles* everyone skipped me so i brought it back... Still needing helps with it
I like your build, but I think you're running a tad too many persecutors. Collar could be a better equipment or something else. As for sideboard options, look at the first post.
I'd be hesitant to cut accel all together in all forms. The format is so fast that this decks 1cc spells just dont cut it turn 1 on a regular basis, whereas the power lies in 2cc spells like hymn and sinkhole or bob. Lotus petal is an option, for multi-color builds, but mox diamond might be a better option just outright taking you forward a turn. Neither allow as broken starts as rit, but hey, trade offs for everything.

Nice man, I like your build. How are the bitterblossoms working for you? And the Leylines in the board?I would suggest cutting 2x Swords to Plowshares for two Vindicates, they really are the most amazing card!
Yesterday I came first at my local tournament, though it was only a twelve person, with this:
round 1: Goblins (2 - 0)
first game, I found that with 4 nighthawks goblins has trouble racing me, especially when equiped with a jiite. The second game first turn plague due to dark ritual made the game a walk in the park.
round 2: Counter Top w/ Thopter Foundry (2 -1)
first game I managed to destroy the counterbalance with a vindicate and then kept him under control with a Hippie. second game I got stuck on 1 land the whole game. Third game I destroyed his Counterbalance again, this time with a k-grip and then kept destroying everyting he played with either k-grip or Vindicate.
round 3: Faeries( 2 - 0)
first game was really tight but I managed to sneak through thanks to vampire nighthawk. second game I played an Engineered plague and he didnt have a counter so I easily won again.
round 4: Gobos, again (2 - 0)
went pretty much the same way as round 1, what can I say nighthawk is awesome.
The engineered plagues are just too good against tribal, Ill never leave home without them again! I found that I havn't missed the Tidehollow Scullers or Mesmeric Fiends at all. I like 4 nighthawks main board, they are really amazing.
Ive decided to change my side board by removing one Swords for one forest, because if I'm siding in the k-grips and I'm worried about non-basic hate the forest will be more useful overall.
Side Board
4x Engineered Plague
4x Leyline of the Void
4x Krosan Grip
2x Swords to Plowshares
1x Forest

As much as I like Ol' Vindicate, StP is just better in my general meta. Lots of aggro, and creature based decks. Plus without the rest of the Land Disruption package the Vindicates are a bit slow//expensive for general removal. Honestly the Bitterblossom's got killed every game before I could make a single token. I'll need more testing to find out if it isn't worth it or if it is just that everyone knows that they can't let it stay on the board. I had much of the same problem with Elspeth, by the time I was able to drop in most games I was already firmly ahead of my opponent. Only more testing will tell.
About the leylines in the board, they were a last minute inclusion for storm based decks, mainly to buy me time to get Cannonist online.
The lack of money fuels the card choices. Smallpox acts as vindicate and wasteland,
Orings are more vindicate, you know.
The synergy helps make up a bit for the lack of potent spells/cards i think.
I'm always looking to change it up.
I went with only 8 creatures because of smallpox. The Rack and Syphon Life are great,
Syphon life makes up for lack of fetchlands.
I really want to get some riftstone portals and more tainted fields for the smallpox manabase.
Also thinking about getting a hold of some phyrexian arenas to replace tutelages and sign in blood, and adding one more land.
Anything obscenely wrong in this list?

find a job or mow your neighbors lawn for a month.... and pick up some bobs, Scrublands, and fetches cause your manabase looks scary...
dont buy cards that needs to be replaced sooner or later... save up and buy what is the last upgrade all together to save time and money.
and if you IMO if u run ANY pox effect, it turns the deck into POX so consider posting there since POX has splashes of other colors too.
but remember... bobs, atleast 2 scrubland, atleast 4-6 fetches, and better equipment like Jitte and such...
The issue: I want two more Swords to Plowshares in the main deck. Or potentially two Ratchet Bombs. I do not know what to remove. I am considering the Stoneforge Mystic coming out, but I am unsure; I have never actually cast her in a game yet so I don't know if she's good or not.
Also, I am unsure about Kataki's spot in the sideboard. Is there a better card for me there?
Stoneforge Mystic (with the toolbox; there's little reason to play it if you don't take advantage of Sword of Fire and Ice and Sword of Light and Shadow, really) usually wins you the game if left unchecked. So don't take them out, I'd suggest upping the count to three instead.
Interesting combination with Bloodghast and equipments. Bloodghast sort of ensure you got a body to equip to even if you are only drawing lands. Which has been one of the weaknesses of this deck IMO. But sort of weak if you don't have equipments in play or can't keep them in play.
The problem with your build is that you have too many suicidal cards. Obvious change could be to swap Thoughtseize with either Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek.
You could also take out Bitterblossom IMO, as you already got Bloodghast. You don't need a lot of creatures in play to win, you just need to stick one with equipment and keep away blockers. A couple of hits with Umezawa's Jitte gives you a really solid board possition.
EDIT: I also like Enlightened Tutor over Stoneforge Mystic, because it can get you other stuff than equipments as well and its an instant that only cost one mana.
I does not play 4 verdant catacombs in my build becouse of dragonstompy in my meta,
it is hard to find 2nd basic after turn 1 blood moon. Also i try to fix match with zoo and other agro decks, so i add
Bitterblossom, wich gives me some blokers, and nighthawks.
I include 3 Prisons in side wich buy some time for me against agro deck, but zoo is stil a bad match for me.
Can you give me any tips? What i should to side in and side out against zoo and against survival decks.
well, it depends on the zoo deck. If they use vengevine, you can use Extirpate and if they have a majority of critters being green, you can use Perish.
Otherwise, Umezawa's Jitte and SoFI helps you during combat and controlling the board.
Sarganas, you should check out my list a page or two back if your looking to include bitterblossom. It plays very well and has a decent to good MU all over the board. Though if zoo is heavy in your meta you should defiantly sideboard a few perish. They are a god send in that MU as they can actually allow you to gain board presence against the zoo player. It is also good in that it has some splash effects against a lot of other decks out there, survival, anything running NO->Prog.

Stoneforge Mystic (with the toolbox; there's little reason to play it if you don't take advantage of Sword of Fire and Ice and Sword of Light and Shadow, really) usually wins you the game if left unchecked. So don't take them out, I'd suggest upping the count to three instead.

4 Vampire Nighthawk
4 Mother of Runes
3 Dark Confidant
2 Tombstalker
I does not play 4 verdant catacombs in my build becouse of dragonstompy in my meta,
it is hard to find 2nd basic after turn 1 blood moon. Also i try to fix match with zoo and other agro decks, so i add
Bitterblossom, wich gives me some blokers, and nighthawks.
2 Relic of Progenitus
1 Nihil Spellbomb
1 Ravenous Trap
2 Ethersworn Canonist
2 Mindbreaker Trap
2 Pithing Needle
2 Engeenered Explosives
3 Ghostly Prison
I include 3 Prisons in side wich buy some time for me against agro deck, but zoo is stil a bad match for me.
Can you give me any tips? What i should to side in and side out against zoo and against survival decks.
Otherwise, Umezawa's Jitte and SoFI helps you during combat and controlling the board.
EE helps as well, and if you splash green, Pernicious Deed.
Having larger critters such as Goyf would also give you more punch against Zoo.
