But that's the thing....I CAN get all that for $300 or so, but I dont WANT TO. I dont have any money, I'm a college student trying to pay off loans with no job >.<
I'm asking, if the manabase that I posted here could work for a cheap replacement till I get the money for buying the mana
(BTW I've been playing for about a year, never really bought packs because I usually just Draft on Fridays, and my trade base sucks >.<)
Nope Tap lands are really bad in Legacy as the format although not vintage fast is still fast. If you can afford the old duals try the Rav duals, also I dont think you can play without the fetches, I mean Im sure you can but if you want the deck to be consistent you need at least 4-6 fetches with 8-10 optimal. If your just playing casual Teramorphics are fine but if your bringing this to a large tourney, always bring the optimal list.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.

Thank you for the honest answer, I tried the mana base out last night for a little bit of testing. I never really go to anything larger than a local tourney, so I dont think im going to get TRASHED simply because I dont have fetchlands.
The mana actually worked out real smooth, because even though it's cool to one drop a 2/3 Kird Ape First turn, I can wait 1 turn to drop a 2/2 Nactal as well as make my Kird Ape a 2/3. I can just play like Ancient Ziggurat, and land a forest next turn. Not a whole ton happens for MOST decks on turn one, cept for combo decks if they can go off. And in my neck of the woods, it's mostly aggro/stompy/control, so im not too worried about combo decks
Another cool trick for the deck that I haven't seen in any list - Bloodbraid Elf. For a late drop, he's pretty cool when he lands a KotR or a Lightning Helix off the top of the deck (I'm running 4 and not really getting any clumps with him)
AGAIN, sorry for super long post. And because im running Savage Lands, I have black mana. I stuck in 2 Putrid Leech, should I throw anything else that's black in there? Blightning?
Most of your cards seem to be type 2, why not just try playing Standard or Extended? Are most of the decks in your area legacy hence you have to build a Legacy deck? If you cant fit fetches I would lessen the colors of the deck to maybe Red Green, so the mana gets more consistent, you still get access to goyf, kird ape, bolt and the other removal.

Well the main reason I play Legacy is because my friends are (in fact my friend built a Red Deck Wins deck and lets me use it in tournaments) and they refuse to play in any other format, simply because they played with the old cards for the longest time. Main reason I play with newer cards is because they ALMOST do the same thing, but cost less money
If you want to play a cheaper version of the deck, just switch to Goyf Sligh and play R/G since that way you only really need 4 Wooded Foothills and 4 Taiga for the expensive lands, which if you shop around and use ebay should be $45 for the Foothills and $100 for the Taigas. If you can't afford Taigas, Goyf Sligh is still an Aggro deck and can probably deal with having a few Ravnica shocklands, which would decrease the price even futher.
Trying to run this deck with a CIPT mana base without fetchlands is just not going to work well in Legacy. If you can't afford the Zoo manabase start with Burn/Goyf Sligh and work your way up to it trying to pick up good deals on eBay. I haven't payed more than $23 for a dual land yet, and that was for the Volcanic Island in Domain Zoo, so if you have some time to scour eBay you can get some great deals.

I currently play only two formats, what I play in them is:
Legacy: Domain Zoo, RGW Zoo, Merfolk, Solidarity, Mono Black Aggro
EDH: Kagemaro, First to Suffer
Thanks Gravemind, you've been a great help. And REALLY? $23 for a DUAL LAND? that's crazy, they gotta be pretty beat up xP
Actually, apart from a small marker line about .3" long in the corner of the art it is about EX in condition. But yeah, most of my duals are beat up(VG-EX), I do have a NM Plateau that I got on eBay for $15, so there are deals on good quality dual lands too.
I started out with Burn and then advanced it to the state it is now as Zoo over the course of time, it works pretty well to go on that path rather than try to figure out how to make a Zoo mana base on the cheap. I do only run 2 Taiga and 2 Plateau in my current list, which also helps cut down on cost, but going any lower and you will start to run into either color problems or your lands will be slow(ie: CIPT).

Yeah but buying one land plus shipping could actually cost your more than just getting a playset. But yeah, you can get great deals on ebay it does take a lot of time waiting for it though, a lot. Some of the people here on forum will sell for great deals as well.
It's been testing extremely well against merfolks, countertop, and vial goblins.
Sylvan Library and Horizon Canopy are for to refill your hand of threats/burn. I also like my creature base since it's well balanced and I hardly run out of threats to win you games.
3 sylvan looks questionable to me. I would never run more than 2. Also no Path to Exile to remove some fatties like Tombstalker and Goyfs?
How bout replacing that singleton Mire with Wooded Foothills since it's our color.

Three works fine, I just like to run more draw in aggro so I can sling more threats at people.
Path to exile is in the sideboard. It's been good in there.
In your build it is probably right to have Bloodstained Mire as you run Fireblast, so mountains are more important.
In a build without Fireblast I would think that 3x Arid Mesa, 3x Windswept Heath and 3x Wooded Foothills would probably be the optimal choice for fetchlands as you can fetch basics of each kind 6 different ways.
That said, I haven't had problems with 4x Foothills, 4x Heath, 1x Mire as my fetchlands for getting a basic forest, mountain and plains when I need them.

How are your results with Jitte in the maindeck? What matchups is it needed in? What do you use it for, life gain, pumping or creature removal? Do you ever feel like it ties up your mana too much to play and equip it?
Sorry about all the questions, I'm just skeptical about the need for Jitte in this deck, it doesn't seem that great against any deck that we don't already have a good game against.

Well jitte helped me made it to playoffs last tourney I went. So he's quite essential for this deck. Sometimes your 3/3 Nacatl isn't big enough on it's own without it to kill a stalker.
I've never used the life gain as well. Unless they have like ancient grudge or something. Though the pump +/+ and the -/- works wonders. It definitely wins you games. My m/u that is was useful against mirror, RDW dragon stompy, grindstone, Goblins etc.
Does it actually work well in the mirror? I would imagine that equipping it would be impossible if they have 8-12 maindeck burn spells and possibly StP/PtE that they can make sure to use to keep your creatures off the board.
I don't think I will run it in my maindeck, because I run PtE, so larger creatures haven't posed much of a problem. Tombstalker and Phyrexian Dreadnaught are the two large ones I really worry about.
I can see it being useful, but I'm just not sold on throwing two in the main.

It's happen a lot, but it's not just useful against mirror. It seems weird to me your judging cards and giving them verdict without trying them. If you don't want it, it's your call. Some players who did well in tourneys plays it main some don't. It's no big deal to me if you don't wanna try it.
Jitte will always break stalemates between aggro battles, its just that strong, I will always dedicate atleast 1 md spot and 1 in the board for her.
Whats those lists not playing Path main? I would never want to play legacy running around with all those goyfs tombstalkers, KOTR and heck even war monk. I think its path or stp main, then adjust your board as suited to your needs.
And 3 sylvan as someone mentioned is Overkill, having 2 in your opening hand is bad.

Well the reason I'm SB-ing path is that against a deck with no or very little creatures. It becomes unnecessary or useless. Then again, I'm just testing this right now. I can still put it back in MD if I don't get good results.
The main reason I'm not testing at the moment is that college has been eating up my time. That is why I'm just trying to get your opinions, the questions I had about some of your card choices come from reading tournament reports and the comments of the players in them as well as discussion of Zoo on other message boards and the card choices listed there, because I don't have time to do testing on my own.
When I get a chance to I will be redoing some of my Domain/RGW Zoo choices and will update the primer accordingly. I plan to try more games with Thoctar/KotR to see which I really like more and also probably try Sylvan Library, Fireblast, Jitte and taking out PtE and see how it goes. If anyone wants to do some testing and can pilot other decks, preferably CounterTop, Dreadstill, Tempo Thresh, Eva Green and Goblins.

I have a Goyf Sligh deck, and am considering upgrading it to Zoo. From what I see, the main advantage of Zoo is that it has more answers to artifacts and enchantments compared to Goyf Sligh. Is there anything else I've missed?

Is it possible to use just Wooded Foothills and Arid Mesa for fetches, or is Windswept Heath still also required on the side?
I noticed that the odd single Horizon Canopy is used by some people. Is that just for the occasional extra draw?
