Has anyone been running SB Defense Grid? It seems like it works on a similar axis to Silence or Overmaster, which is very solid in certain matchups. I personally run the mono-blue Dream Halls variant, but any experience would be appreciated.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
This is the list that I ran a few weeks back at SCG: DC I ended up 3-4 (After losing round 6 to go to 3-3, I basically though in the towel round seven since I planned to drop anyway... also I was playing poorly and made two huge mistakes which cost me at least 2 game losses.)
I've not been playing a lot of legacy... but now I'm just making excuses.
First things first... this was sort of a personal brew, but I think it's kind of spicy... though again I'll admit that most of the decisions leading up to this build were decided with a few hours of playtesting.... so... yeah.

Game 2: He starts to combo, and I counter Glimpse of Nature he loses.
Game 3: See game 2.

Round 2: Tin-Fins (Piloted by Zohar Bhagat)
I don't remember the full details.
Game 1: he won after a lot of back and forth. I put him on defense when he saw turn 2 kill in my hand, and he preceded to spend turns keeping me from winning for a while before he could combo off.
Game 2: I stick Show and Tell, can't remember what he had, I've got Omniscience followed by lots of ponders and preordains into Emrakul.
Game 3: I punt hard.... =(
1-1
Round 3: Sneak and Show Piloted by (Mcdarby, David)
Game 1: I put him on Sneak and Show when he fetches Volcanic Island Turn 1 and ponders... I think. Turn 2 I cast Show and Tell, he plays Emrakul, I play Omniscience then my own Emrakul, then take my next turn and cast Enter the Infinite. I side in Spell Pierce and Pithing Needle
Game 2: I screw up and get my Pithing Needle countered turn 2 (I also short cutted it cause I was playing fast and loose...) He attempts to cast Sneak Attack but it gets caught by Spell pierce. I follow up with Show and Tell into Omnisience into Emrakul.
2-1
Aside: Now I majorly messed up here and came across as a jerk because A) I didn't recognize David even though I though his name sounded familiar and B) I was so excited after this match went exactly how I played it out in my head about 40 times and well said how I thought it was just a horrible matchup for him... that didn't go well... Round 4: Affinity
Game 1: He was too fast for me, and killed me the turn before I was ready to go off.
Game 2: I got there.
Game 3: See game 1.
2-2
Round 5: 4 Color Loam
Game 1: He did nothing and I curshed him turn 2. I had no idea what he was.
Game 2: He played Thalia Turn 3, I had Volcanic Island, Ancient Tomb Ancient Tomb. I taped it all for Show and Tell into Omniscience (1 colorless floating) he called the judge just for information about how Omniscience interacted with Thelia, the judge ruled it didn't and I didn't have to pay the tax. I was covered anyway... but I cast EtI and killed him this turn, instead of passing and killing him next turn. Turns out that Judge was wrong.
3-2
Round 6: ESB
Game 1: Win I think?
Game 2: He controls the game well with keeps me from winning with Hand Disruption + Snapcaster mage. Surprise he's running Cabal Therapy.

I like an Idiot give him Cabal Therapy and as soon as the word is out of my mouth realize what I have done. Edit: It rechecked my notes and I think there was a third game and that I won game 1:

Round 7: ESB
At this point I mentally checked out... and can't remember but I did lose this round too.

I then preceded to watch mode where my friend was piloting Goblins, he beat Painter's Servant and then was denied top-16 by losing the Goblins Mirror in round 9. The winner did make top 16.

The power and consistency of the deck is ridiculous.
I reluctantly bought the most of the pieces for the Omniclash version of that deck (win via endless Release the Ants clash post-Enter the Infinite) and will try it out the next chance I get. I didn't want to get Pact of Negation because it is a bit too expensive for me right now so I'll put Spell Pierces/Flusterstorms in its place and see how they work. I hope they aren't that much worse.
Something about that deck just seems really wrong to me. It's such an aberration of a deck, but it looks so damn consistent. I can't resist trying it out.

If you use Laboratory Maniac as your win con what if someone casts abrupt decay on it? Do you have a back up plan to win?
Cast Brainstorm in response. You're holding your deck in your hands. Nothing can reasonably stop you at that point.
Sudden Shock is the worst thing to see playing Lab Man, but no one plays it. If the meta shifts to start packing Sudden Shock, then you start packing a single Silence in the board to Wish for post Enter the Infinite.

Honestly I think the Pacts are necessary, as they are extremely good at forcing through an Show & Tell or Dream Halls and don't take Mana.... so you don't have to wait a turn or more to be able to do it with back up....

Or you change Win Conditions. To the Release the Ants version.... but that's not required either.
But seriously if you've resolved Enter the Infinite it's really really hard to lose. Three things to keep in mind. After EtI you've got a handful of counters, any one of silver bullets in your hand, and 3/4 Cunning Wish so you can get whatever you need to deal with any situation out of the board. I think a single Silence in the board is perfectly reasonable even now... there are some wishboard slots that are more flexible.
Another card I play that I have never seen in another list but has performed extremely well for me is Personal Tutor. I know it is card disadvantage and gives your opponent information but it is very powerful card selection in this deck that usually needs 2 sorceries to go off. Occasionally it is a dead card in hand but extra copies tend to work well to pitch for FOW or another card off Dream Halls. We have 8 copies of the "cast anything" permanents so it makes sense to have 8 copies of Show and Tell and Enter the Infinite. Instead of spending turn one using a cantrip to look for these components, just make sure you have one on your next turn.

Firemind's Foresight turns Cunning Wish into EtI if you have Dream Halls out and you're short on cards. Search for Intuition and 2 blue cards, pitch Blue Card 1 to cast Intuition, find 3 EtIs with Intuition, then pitch Blue Card 2 to cast EtI. (I'd rather play 2 Daze than 1 Impulse in Firemind's Foresight builds, though. Other SnT decks like Daze a lot more than Impulse.)

I don't think anyone is playing the old UR OmniTell anymore because I'm pretty sure its just worse than the Mono Blue version.
I've still caught UR OmniTell a few times in the MTGO Modern Dailies even after OmniDream was released (I also just put in a sample OmniDream list in the OP; this primer still mainly covers UR OmniTell, though).
From my testing versus my old UR OmniTell list, OmniDream still seems a trace less consistent than UR OmniTell because Omniscience + Enter the Infinite still needs Show and Tell and Dream Halls + Omni is pointless without other combo pieces. Cunning Wish is a pretty slow "cantrip" compared to Intuition/Gitaxian Probe/Overmaster (yes, OmniDream runs Intuition and Probe, but in lesser numbers).
I also don't get why no one plays Lotus Petal in OmniDream when old Dream Halls lists did. We can't get Sol lands every game, and we can't get out Dream Halls by Turn 4 without mana accel or Show and Tell.
If you go on The Source, you'll see people going back and forth on the Firemind vs no Firemind debate.
Some like having FSM(+1) and some probes(+2) vs. playset of Dream Halls (it is shaved because it doesn't play well with FSM) playset of Cunning Wish (you want to Firemind, so you want to maximize the DH-->CW -->FF --> WIN play) and the 2 CMC spot. Trickbind or Impulse usually. Trickbind is disliked (and loved) because it is useless MB just like FSM. Some say its useless, others sing its praises.
It ultimately comes down to preference.
Although I believe some have said its a metagame decision, for how much maverick you expect. The theory is that Teeg shuts off Wincons. Builds with FSM and probes can S&T in Omni, CW--> Elamdori's(sp?) Call tutor up FSM and cast him and win. Or S&T into FSM and win.
The very fact that Flamethrowers exist proves that someone somewhere said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire... But I'm just not close enough to do it"

(I'm thinking about making this deck and trying to determine the best version to make.)
Intuition turns Cunning Wish into Enter the Infinite (with Omniscience out) or Omni/Dream Halls/Show and Tell (if you're against control). It's a must in the Wishboard, IMO.
Firemind's Foresight turns Cunning Wish into EtI if you have Dream Halls out and you're short on cards. I've been thinking about this deck some. How do you feel about playing an Trickbind main instead of Impulse. With an Trickbind and Firemind's Foresight in the SB.
I think Trickbind main seems more relevant, and it allows you to protect your combo some in the case where you Show and Tell in Omniscience or Dream Halls with an Cunning Wish in hand and turn that Cunning Wish into Firemind's Foresight, Trickbind, (Flusterstorm or Brainstorm) allowing you to Trickbind the way they are trying to interact, (Griselbrand, Oblivion Ring, or the like) and still have a Cunning Wish to combo with?
Thoughts?
It's a corner case, but Firemind's Foresight also gives you a few % points by allowing you to Combo with only Dream Halls Two Blue Cards and Cunning Wish.
