I play legacy on and off and last I played a few years back I have been playing High Tide, Reanimator, and ANT. I feel like going back to my roots though and going back to Dredge. I have been out of the loop for a little while with legacy (been playing Standard and Modern recently), I was wondering if you all could help me out. I am debating between Manaless Dredge and LED Dredge. I was wondering if I could get some pointers on:
1) Strengths and weaknesses of each type.
2) Consistancy
3) just generally which has been performing better between the two.
Thank you all ahead of time

LED dredge is the way to go i fyou are looking for consistency.
TBH at this point the only reason to get ledless is to be on a budget.
It add so much speed to the deck, maybe before faithless looting you could argue either way but with that addition led dredge is just that much stronger.
Manaless Dredge will scoop game 2 and 3 if your opponent has any hate. It is really hard to win through gy hate so... LED has a better chance to fight the hate
Played both; Manaless is more consistent, as everything not required has been cut, but has a harder time games 2-3. LED has more explosive turns, but can sometimes just not work.
In terms of which is a better deck overall, LED dredge is the only one that places in SCG opens.
This isn't a very good indicator of which is a better deck. LED has much higher numbers of players taking it to an open. There are few who are willing to rock the manaless list through 8+ rounds.
I think it's a very good indicator of which is the better deck. The good folks that place in SCGs with Dredge have played and tested the day lights out of it. The fact that they chose LED already speaks volumes. The fact that they placed with it confirms their choice.
It's not just Faithless Looting, it's Deathrite Shaman. The plan to go 2nd, draw, and discard doesn't look so clever with that dude on the other side of the table.
LEDless placed in Danish Masters (just under 100 people) and manaless placed in Manilla 3 times recently (just under 100 people). LED Dredge has many more people that play it BECAUSE it is more explosive and it has better answers to hate as well as the ability to outrace hate with its explosive speed.
Having said that, I think that and played both types (manaless and mana LED dredge), I think that as stated above Faithless Looting has put LED dredge above the rest with comboing with LED. It's just too powerful to passup in my opinion when there is so much graveyard hate out there, especially with the rise of Rest in Peace MB in several decks.

People saying that manaless dredge is less consistent and less resilient I'm assuming haven't played the deck. I switched from LED dredge to manaless after having played various versions of the deck for years specifically because I found it to be more consistent and better against common hate. Deathrite Shaman in particular, which is the most common thing to see, is far easier to play around, if not completely nullify, with the manaless strategy.

Don't have issues with hate when you can simply outrace it with LED dredge, or dredge to the point where they are required to pop their one time use and then explode afterwards.
Yes I would agree that Manaless Dredge is more consistent in the hands that it gets, but it lacks the explosiveness OR the protection that is required for combo decks to have in order to perform well against the entire field that exists. It's a solid deck, but don't expect to place well in major competitions. The same could be said of LED dredge though since graveyard hate is quite the potent issue for these decks to deal with.

LED dredge is the only way to go. I've been playing it ever since faithless looting came out. Having LED in your deck lets you do a lot more complex things than not having it. You can have Sun Titan in your deck for retrieval of the LED or if you have a LED and only a coliseum you can still go off without another land. Here's my deck http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=47837 changed ancestor chosen for Elesh Norn.

Unless you just want to be different or something, I guess.

LED dredge has a much easier time fighting through graveyard hate.
There is no reason to play manaless dredge in today's meta.
