I've been working with XenoNinja on updating his out of date thread for a little over a week now.
Unlike the original, we only focused on a single list of ALL the major decks in Legacy. This was determined by anything that had placed recently at some event, as well as a couple things we new were still popular in local meta's. The next step was giving a price range on them and list in parenthesis the rarest cards in the deck, and their values. All values are coming from www.blacklotusproject.com. Note, that you may be able to obtain these cards much cheaper, especially considering foreign versions. It was also important to include a typical sideboard in the total price, as a lot of the time this can add a pretty significant amount to the total value.
If anyone wants to contribute to this list, please feel free to. Credit will be given for good lists. This means that if you disagree with a deck list or a price for a card, draw up your change and explain it. Please include any references you used to make your list.
*The thread is a work in progress, and will probably not be fully functioning for a day or so.
*We currently need a sideboard for Lands!
*If you see something that needs to be changes, or a price is contradicting itself... let us know!
A lot of talk has went into editing lists to include "if you have this card, take away this much of the cost." So, that is what I will use this section for. It goes by 1 copy, 2 copy, and so on.
It's Patrick Sullivan's list. My best guess as to the fetch use is for lavamancer candy. I personally do not play burn, but if you would like to submit a different decklist and/or guide. Feel free. This was just simply something that placed at a SCG open.
I assumed when making this list if someone wanted to look into building a new deck it would be because of something that has recently done well. This is why I based the pricing on deck lists that had placed recently. The primer also defends running fetches in "mana sink build," which seems to be your biggest concern with the list. For the most part, the list above is right in line with options from the primer. So, I'm not really sure what you're suggesting.

My apologies for being picky. The problem with burn decks (pricing/decklists) is that they all tend to be different. Whatevs... good stuff otherwise..

The Burn deck listed here does contain Guides, so yeah there isn't much wrong with it. People were critical of Sullivan's use of Figure of Destiny, and probably rightly so, but he's always one to try out a new card or three in his burn decks. Either way it did well so I think it's a good list to include, though it may not be typical. If people want to cut some of the cost and cut out Figure, or they want to learn more about Burn by visiting the primer, they should do so. But as a general idea, you can't make everyone happy and I think the decklists here are great.
I would mention, just for anyone considering building Dredge that Firestorm is almost universally used in Dredge sideboards now as a 4-of, since it wrecks aggro and gives you uncounterable discard at the same time, which helps fight against Mental Misstep. I mention this because it's a relatively pricey card for someone on a Dredge player's budget to pick up, so keep that in mind if you're looking to build it. LED is also making a comeback in Dredge decks due to the Mental Misstep problem, so if you're looking to infuse more cash into your Dredge deck, that's probably how you should do it.

It's all good. This is what I want this thread to do. What sort of price variation do Burn players see between various decks?
Everything from what you posted to super on the cheap. The cheapest effective burn deck I have seen runs sans-fetches and sans-lavamancer (roughly $75). But ya.

I know Dead Guy recently made a come back with Obliterator, but do you have links to a recent MBC/The Gate placing?
Personally, I wonder about the categories on this site sometimes. And no, I don't need a mod to come in and explain them, lol. It's just been a long time since I've seen a deck like MBC or The Gate post a result at a reputable tournament somewhere. Deadguy, on the other hand, is doing well lately and should be here. I would personally use one of Joe Bernal's lists, either the one he took to the invitational or the one he Top 8'd with before that.
The point is, though, that if you want to see something here that isn't, price it out and post it and they'll probably include it, just like the OP says.

Looks like an excellent resource The prices thread was definitely in need of an update.
However... Whose stiflenought build is that? I hadn't realised a green splash one had done well recently. And can I suggest your posting a link with each deck to the page where it was posted, so that there'll be a record of how recently, where, and what it placed?
Good work Doug, starting the thread while I was away D: Anywho, seems like this thread is taking off like my last thread. I'll re-link my sig to this one. That way it will get more traffic, seeing as the old one had like, 40,000 views
We're gunna try and keep this list updated every so often, remove decks that aren't placing or doing well and put up new ones that are. I would like to do it every month-month and a half, but sometimes the meta can get really stagnant and slow at times due to Ban Listings only being every 6 months.
We'll see what happens in the upcoming months though ^^

Oh hey... awesome. You get online after I've done all the work.

+ 1.
At the time of the tournament last March when he played Figure, he finished 5th (got a horrible matchup against TES when he got knocked out, but still managed to win 1 out of 3).
Now that Mental Misstep has entered the meta, Burn is becoming harder to play, and Figure probably isn't making many lists anymore, seeing as though it's a 1-drop. Keldon Marauders is a decent substitute tho.
And I like the fetches in my Burn deck strictly for Lavamancer food in slower games
also, burn is not hurting nearly as much as you would think. all mental misstep does against burn is counter the lightning bolts and its kin. If they waste misstep on that then they have 20 others to worry about, plus they still take 2 damage a lot of the time and lose a card in their hand.
granted it can hit guide, figure or lavamancer, but out of those I only play guide. Figure and lavamancer die to removal too often and dont go well with the VCA.
I recently played burn last week in a 30+ man tournament and did pretty well. was just barely kept out of top 8 by a mud player that sided in 4 tinisphere and 4 chalice of the void against me. =/ even then, if i had more artifact hate to board in I might have had the match.

Burn has to worry about MM about as much as Zoo. A lot of people for whatever reason think that decks with high volumes of 1 costs are just totally screwed by MM, but this is not the case. In both Burn and Zoo, you are essentially casting the same thing over and over again. Redundancy is why Zoo is a top deck, and also why Burn can sneak up on people.
Even Sullivan himself played Zoo instead of Burn thanks to MM. I'm not saying Burn has no chance, but MM doesn't help its cause. MM makes it harder to get 20 pts on damage against a blue deck.
1. Italian Karakas are commonly played over English Karakas. English Karakas tend to be in the ~$50 area, while Italian ones are in the ~$25 area. Thus listing Karakas at $41 is somewhat disingenuous, as you can easily get one for much less than that.
2. Candelabra of Tawnos is not actually in any top-tier deck (High Tide is dead). It's about as relevant to this list as Juzam Djinn (which, if added to the list, would be in 3rd or 4th place).
3. Some of your decklists seem to be a bit off:
Affinity does not (or should not) play JTMS. Where did you get this list from? It looks terrible.
Team America has by-and-large moved away from the Tombstalker plan towards Dark Confidant. Your list is out of date.
Why do you list both "Lands" and "43 Lands"? They're the same deck, except 43 Lands has been dead for quite a while.

1. I understand that some foreign cards can be cheaper to acquire, but I simply went by blacklotuproject for the value. It seemed to be pretty decent pricing on most things, so going through and adding in that you can get foreign version for cheaper seems like a waste. I will add to the OP that you can obtain foreign cards at a reduced cost some of the time.
2. Although High Tide may be considered "dead" it has recently placed, and thus is why it is listed.
3. As far as deck lists go, I just looked at what has been happening for the past 6 months in terms of placing on SCG's deck lists. As I said in the OP, if you would like a better representation of any deck... by all means submit a different deck list (with pricing) and explain why it should be here instead of what I picked.
Yes, for people saying "This list is jank" and "who runs this list", ALL of these lists like the OP has said at least 40 times now are just a copy and paste of the current decks that are winning. It's not my OLD thread, where I did EVERY list in the format, just the ones that are winning. Makes things easier to price and update every few months, and it keeps the thread active.
Rather than piss and moan about "oh this deck isn't really used" and "go to this thread to get a PROPER list", just be thankful someone is taking the time to make a price guide for people who wanna play competitively. It's like complaining while being hung with a new rope, no one is ever happy. We spent a long time doing this, and plan on keeping this list updated with new and winning decks. Be thankful for what you have here, takes a lot of effort doing this.
I know because I tried doing it myself, and failed.
Personal request, but would you mind finding the cheapest price for a card, outside of english? Maybe for the top ten at least, since I think players would be more inclined to look up the most budget deck that can perform. Shaving a $100 off a deck simply by buying foreign cards is nothing to discount.
Thanks!

Everything from what you posted to super on the cheap. The cheapest effective burn deck I have seen runs sans-fetches and sans-lavamancer (roughly $75). But ya.

The point is, though, that if you want to see something here that isn't, price it out and post it and they'll probably include it, just like the OP says.

As supplemental information those not sure whether or not to go the Paper or MTGO route to play Legacy, here's an article on price breakdowns of the top Legacy decks online vs. offline: http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/finance/21456_A_Foray_Into_Online_Legacy.html

also, burn is not hurting nearly as much as you would think. all mental misstep does against burn is counter the lightning bolts and its kin.

Special thanks to Bornnover for the banner used in those articles.

Thanks for the tip, brah.
Play (verb): Cast/Play
RFG: Exile
CIP: Enters the Battlefield
Fetchland: Arid Mesa
Shockland: Watery Grave

Thanks!
