Standard 5cc control. I think paragon of the amesha is slightly stronger than dragonsoul knight because lifelink is super relevant for stabilizing. The cards with buyback are INSANE.
Disclaimer, the deck has not been updated for RtR. There are MANY good cards that will have to get added thanks to the set. Updates to come once I'm not procrastinating for Law School midterms...
Thanks for all the pauper EDH support. I run a dragonsoul knight and think the ability to just kill in three hits outweighs the lifegain. First off have you tested this deck or is it just a proposed decklist? I'm asking because I don't think you run nearly enough lands. I run something like 42 and once you count cards whose sole purpose is finding lands that count is over 50. Five color mana is difficult and you need to devote a huge amount of space to making it work. Your cheating on mana with bounce lands but that seems horribly slow, draw dependent and prone to just collapsing on itself.
How are allay and shattering pulse working out for you? They seem kind of narrow to me, especially allay. I run Wickerbough Elder , if white wasn't my minimized color I'd run pridemage, and Dispeller's Capsule. I run a trinket mage package with Leonin Squire for recursion. And why no crypt rats?
Edit: Before I was talking off the top of my head, I'll post my decklist bellow. It could easily be the same general so its fine not having its own thread.
So 43 lands in all. I run more creatures and the deck is big on reusing them. Some things I'd like but haven't got around to including would be a source of life gain, I'm thinking Gnaw to the Bone.

Oh no, the decks are so cheap (you can buy them for like 20-30 each in their entirety), I just have close to a dozen of them sitting around in a box. A group of my friends and I would play all the time (But I recently moved to California for law school so I'm not playing the last few months :-(
I have all the 2cc transmute cards and can fetch the one I need at the time. Buyback is one of the most powerful effects in the format. There aren't cards with the same draw power / CA that you have in normal EDH, so the ability to use a spell 3-4 times over the course of a game is HUGE.
I will probably have to make some of your inclusions. Wickerbough Elder probably deserves a slot in EVERY green deck for instance. And crypt rats is just a silly omission. When I get home over Christmas I'll have way more time to update everything .
The bounce lands are great for generating CA in the long run. Each one of them is essentially just a slow 2 for 1. A good investment if your game plan is surviving 20 turns. That's part of the reason why I use the Paragon instead of the Dragonsoul knight. I usually am a few turns slower getting my gameplan going. Though as I have both, I use them fairly interchangeably.
I did. But to be fair, I still made the decks myself. The article was written by my friend Chris (CML) and I'm Sam - he credits me in the article for my decks. It took me forever to get him to (a) get into pauper EDH (because he hates regular EDH) and (b) to write the article.
(It's the reason I didn't post Matt's or C's decklist)
