Hey all, I was just wondering what to do with my Karador deck with an Umori companion. I guess I'll start off with some of my goals for the deck:
Fill up my graveyard to the point that I'm not ever going to pay more than WGB to cast my commander
Be the most annoying person at the table, able to come back from most situations (mostly boardwipes)
Have an answer for nearly everything you can think of
I know my decklist at this point doesn't really do much, if any, of what I want to accomplish above but I'm hoping some more experienced peeps can help with cutting the chaff and getting it to a playable state.
There are 2 major things I want to avoid, however:
I'm okay with posting some expensive cards ($60 for a single card is probably my max) but this is sort of a budget build so if the card isn't a MUST HAVE I'd like to keep it on the cheaper side
As the flair suggests this is going to be a casual deck so no Iona, Shield of Emerias or two card instant win/infinite combos
I will probably work on the lands myself so just assume the mana-fixing is going to get better. But feel free to suggest utility lands such as Memorial to folly
What I posted above is sort of a haphazard list of cards slapped together after googling "MTG cards that do x thing" and having a rough outline for myself. I've had most of this deck proxied for about a week now and I'm not sure if I want to spend the money just yet on the cards I don't have, in case they're stinkers. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone could give me on this one and am willing to give answers for why I put certain things in.
Magus of the Order seems right at home here. I think True Believer is nice in graveyard decks as a way to deter a lot of common targeted graveyard removal like Bojuka Bog, but he's double white so not totally easy. Grist, the Hunger Tide can be your commander in decks, so I wonder if she's legal in an Umori creature deck as well- if so, good source of self mill and sacrifice.
Also what's your opinion on Duskwatch Recruiter? I want another cost reduction source but I feel like in a (typically) 4-player game of commander he's real hard to flip and real easy to flip back... Also I've been looking at cards like Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Avacyn, Angel of Hope but I'm not sure if I could squeeze them in really...
