This deck idea started as a pseudo-meme where I said that Vigilance is the best keyword. Everybody kept giving me ***** for it, yet in a lot of my decks people noticed that I was hard to attack into due to how often my Creatures would be untapped. I decided to make a Vigilance deck and decided to go with Gahiji, which will give people even less incentive to attack me. At first, I thought to use a ton of Tappers, so that I have something to do on an End Step but then I found out all of the good Tappers aren't in Naya. Afterwards, I realized that the main criticism of Planeswalkers is that they're difficult to defend, but if I have tons of untapped Creatures, it will be difficult for my opponents to punch through before I get some obnoxious Ult off. Plus if the goal is to give everything Vigilance, Dinosaur's Enrage and Amonkhet's Exert mechanics work wonders if you don't tap.
There are a few more cards I have earmarked as underperforming but these were the absolute dreck.
The idea of having Vigilance is that the Ranging Raptors would be attacking and blocking, continually becoming Enraged and netting me many lands. That's the theory, in practice I would hum and haw over if I should make a block. I didn't want to lose this 2/3 and it could be so much cooler too! Well, that makes me stupid and greedy, so I axed the card for Farhaven Elf who I will gladly toss under the bus if need be.
Trapjaw was too expensive and cumbersome to pull off what I wanted. I'm putting Akroma's Vengeance in its place as that keeps my Planeswalkers alive to rebuild, defend themselves or set up Ults.
Mentor of the Meek just didn't trigger properly, it was by far the worst card in the deck. Blasphemous Act is another Wrath if the deck needs it. Too bad I'm cutting two Dinosaurs at present for it.
I dislike Harmonize, I rather have a reliable draw engine in its place. Since the deck has Vigilance to protect the Planeswalkers, I added Vital Force who will be one hell of a draw engine if I can protect her for the Ult. Since that's the main job, should be relatively easy.
Currently I am debating whether to add Nesting Dragon due to Flying Vigilance being quite strong once those eggs hatch. Others are all of the two man token Creatures just to swarm the board: Leonin Warleader, Hero of Bladehold and Hanweir Garrison. Another thought is to use Oketra's Monument to junk up the board with Vigilance Creatures.
I dislike how much a Wheel costs and how casual this deck is. Swapping out a much cheaper card. Maybe if I treat this deck more seriously would I consider putting my Wheel back in.
I'm a huge fan of Gahiji... Enjoy the well-balanced look of your build. Always Watching is a card I keep forgetting about and very much need to play with.
Many steal stuff decks in your meta? I've had Gahiji stolen and cloned and I'd be tempted to put Homeward Path in here, though your colorless land count is already pretty high. Heroic Intervention also saves you from theft and cloning, but something else wouldn't hurt. Teferi's Veil would be ideal here, but not a cheap card. Ghostway maybe?
Enough enchantments to make Sphere of Safety worthwhile, to help protect your walkers? Yeah, I know vigilance also does this, but might be worth a slot.

Reconnaissance can be pretty handy and used to approximate vigilance when used after the damage step.

Hexproof/Shroud won't stop Clone creatures since they don't target what they copy as they enter, just spells that make a token copy tend to target.

Cool deck!
Thanks.
I am running a bit more coloured lands than usual, a Homeward Path isn't a bad idea. I was thinking of Mikokoro, Center of the Sea as another way to draw cards with low investment.
I'm actually a little conflicted on Always Watching, as I've added a lot of token makers since the first build. Suddenly I'm thinking should I run more generic Vigilance givers or add Intangible Virtue or something. Another overlooked Vigilance card, aside from lyonheart pointing out Reconnaissance, is Seedborn Muse.
I'm not a big fan of Ghostly Prison effects because they signal to any good opponent that you want to be left alone for some time, so they decide to not leave you alone and they can do that by paying some mana. I prefer subtler ways to make people go somewhere else, as then it isn't as obvious, such as a Marchesa's Decree or Dread. That way they can still hit me if they want to but I'm still appearing as unthreatening as before without such a 'large' obstacle. It's enough to make someone go after an easier target but not too much that alarm bells start ringing.
Good point re the more subtle ways of pointing attacks somewhere else aside from the blatant "don't attack me while I assemble my shenanigans". That's something I could do more of in my decks.
As far as attracting unwanted attention though, Seedborn is a huge red flag. Unless you were going to throw in some mana dumps to take advantage of her I see her being a 5 mana make an opponent discard a removal spell play. Reconnaissance seems like the better choice there, unless again you wanted to get more out of Seedborn.
Was just thinking how cool it would be to have black in this kind of deck so you could play Archetype of Finality, vigilance and deathtouch make quite a nice wall. Saskia could head that, but Saskia is playing different politics than I think you're wanting here.
Was just thinking how cool it would be to have black in this kind of deck so you could play Archetype of Finality, vigilance and deathtouch make quite a nice wall. Saskia could head that, but Saskia is playing different politics than I think you're wanting here.
Funny you should say that, Saskia the Unyielding was the deck's previous iteration but I realized I couldn't make it work with the amount of fixing plus utility the deck required. I decided on Gahiji next for the Vigilance deck.
Selvala is Ramp, Draw and pseudo-Group Hug which the deck kind of does, just to steer people away. The Ripjaw Raptor was mostly a bad block, not a draw engine, so Selvala will help with that. Also, with the various Untap effects, I can really take advantage of multiple activations.
Champion felt like it never had a good reason to Exert, I don't have enough Creatures to let that get setup. Constant Mists protects my face.
Quest for Renewal goes in as a way to take advantage of some of the tappers I've added, as well as covering Token and Non-Token Creatures which Always Watching didn't. Going from 1G from 1WW will also make it easier to cast.
Explosive Vegetation is probably the worst Ramp spell in the deck, so it got axed for Smothering Tithe.
I wanted more utility lands to take advantage of Seedborn Muse or other effects. There's plenty of interesting Nonbasics in any standard match, so Thespian's Stage will take advantage of that. Mikokoro is some draw as the deck felt a little light.
Right now there's a bunch of cards that are kind of awkward, I can't quite put them in a place until the deck gets more of an identity. I probably want more Instants for interaction, so I might want to get rid of Hull Breach. The deck isn't controlly enough to justify the windup time of Assemble the Legion. Aurelia, the Warleader is sometimes difficult to cast so I am thinking of whether I should keep her, but she's another way to cheat 'Vigilance' with my Creatures.
Courser gives pseudo-draw and life gain, so it was the closest analogue to Shamanic Revelation. Courser also has a big butt for Blocks to protect my Planeswalkers.
Hull Breach as a Sorcery isn't that interesting, the Heretic will enjoy the deck's theme and will give me something to do on an end step. Also, big butt.
Farhaven Elf is a one-time Ramp, Wayward Swordtooth can help with extra land drops.
Not enough Creatures triggered Garruk's Packleader, though some of the Creatures could be absolutely absurd draw-wise like Kazull, Tyrant of the Cliffs' Ogres or Tendershoot Dryad's Saprolings. In its place is Vizier of the Menagerie which is again giving me pseudo-draw. The bigger butt also helps with defence.
Assemble the Legion is so cool but it is so hard to justify that slow build-up. I've put Captain Sisay in its place who can easily take advantage of the untap effects this deck has. With Planeswalkers being Legends, her ability is pretty good at getting stuff that makes the deck's theme come to life. I'm hoping for more Vigilance friendly 'Walkers in War of the Spark. I definitely want Vivien Reid but I can wait until she rotates.
I've killed enough big guys in response to Rishkar's Expertise that I don't want to subject myself to that vulnerability. Garruk comes in as something that the deck wants to do anyway. His plus is like Expertise, his minus is like the 5 or less stipulation but I can keep doing this each round. His Emblem would be nice to pull off too.
Blasphemous Act is good for how cheap it is; however, I want something that hits more. Urza's Ruinous Blast keeps my Planeswalkers safe, keeps my Commander on board and can be fetched by Captain Sisay. I think there's more synergy in Blast than Act for this deck, though I am going to miss my one mana panic button.

The deck seems very interesting! How has testing all the recent changes been coming along?
It is interesting. I thought the idea was kind of stupid but funny so I decided to build it. The deck has surprised me quite a few times. A lot of the Planeswalker Ults catch people off guard because I'm essentially playing Superfriends without the Superfriends package, so a lot of my deck gets randomly underestimated. Though once they realize what is happening, it gets harder to defend, which is why I'm making a few more changes.
Twilight Drover is a pet card I've had since forever. I figure this would be the perfect deck to use it in. I already have synergy with Orzhov Advokist. The deck produces random tokens and the Drover doesn't care whose Creature tokens leave the battlefield, he grows. He makes Flying tokens which will help my deck block from flying attacks, block for my Planeswalkers and 3/1 Fliers aren't anything to sneeze at. Dragonmaster Outcast has a lot of hoops for only a linear growth, while the Drover has a lot more possibilities.
Glorybringer has kind of been a disappointment. The Soulbinders can be huge, so they can get in without too much of a scare and can Block well. Again, they make Flying tokens so my face and Planeswalkers are protected on D, and 3/1s are a pain to deal with on offence.
I've noticed my Sun Titan whiff a few times as of late, so I'm axing it for a curve slimmer in the form of Leonin Warleader. If the tokens survive the next turn, 3/1 Lifelink will help raise my health.
Path of Mettle is fun but kind of bad. I've axed it for a serious source of card draw, especially with all of the X/1 token makers I've just added. Dragon Broodmother also makes 1/1s that I can feed to the Clamp. I guess this means I should probably look into having Mentor of the Meek return.
Other token makers I thought of using were Hero of Bladehold, as she also pumps my team. I went against that because my Commander already does the pump, I don't really need that redundancy. If I need to flatten my curve further, there's always Hanweir Garrison but I don't just want generic 1/1s. Another direction I thought of taking the deck is using a shell of my Trostani, Selesnya's Voice deck, that way I have another Creature that has a good tap effect on an EOT and another way to gain life so I don't accidentally die to some random AOEs. But building that will take up a lot of slots, I think I would need to drop the Planeswalker package and considering Superfriends is new territory to me, I'd rather not.
Serra Ascendant is great and synergizes with Gahiji's triggered ability. Courser just didn't gain me enough life; I also feel like I have enough draw so I'm cutting this piece.
Leonin Warleader's tokens were underwhelming. Mob Rule, if resolved and unmolested, should end the game for me.
Combat Celebrant wasn't really pulling its own weight. With the addition of these two Proliferate cards, I'm thinking I should probably add some kind of +1/+1 Counter subtheme.
Since I've added two ways to Proliferate, this is my 'Proliferate Package'. Cards that synergize or do well with +1/+1 counters or are the Planeswalkers.
I cut what I felt like what was glut. I was missing Land Drops due to not having enough draw, so I cut the Vizier for Realm Seekers who should help me land those Land Drops plus he's big. Inspiring Call is another way to draw. Xenagos gives me mana or a body, he Ults pretty quickly and that could set me ahead far ahead. Nissa makes a body to protect Planeswalkers, her minus beefs up my team to enjoy the Proliferation.
