I use Commit // Memory for the same purpose.
A stricktly better version of this effect would be an instant with flashback or other means to cast from the yard, so i can respond to stacked copies of Fateful Showdown and protect myself from self mill.
You could Always run Relic of Progenitus et all for the cantrip effect if needed, but most cantripping artifacts hit all yards.
Fists of Flame - it could be decent. In a lot of cases its going to give like +3/+0 and trample plus cantrip itself as kind of a baseline. I guess the question is how strong would you want it to be before its really solid. Its not all that likely that we would get much out of it on Jori En herself unless you are fork casting it. Its a card that gets better with running forks, without them though its probably going to be a bit so so. Its not really that good of draw being that its two mana with no card selection. I actually think it fits a Feather, the Redeemed deck a little better than it does this list.
Collected Conjuring - hummmmm this is an interesting card. I think the overall consistency of EDH decks will probably ultimately make it not great here but its interesting. If it could hit instant / sorceries I think we would have been in business but as it stands I think it just narrowly isn't quite good enough due to deck consistancies of 100 card decks.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
replacing itself is good, and with how many copy effects we are able to run this will often draw 2-3 cards and pump 2-3 creatures for residual damage. I'll test I guess.
The collected company for sorceries seems like a hard pass for me. I'm not great on evaluating, but I run 21 sorceries and several of them are misses, Finale of promise, Treasure cruise, pore over pages and past come to mind. Also can burn my Mizzium Mortars that is one of two ways I have of clearing a board with the overload.
I run CoCo in modern and miss often with a way higher % of hits and I miss way too much, I don't see this deck running. I might be wrong but just on't see

I am also a CoCo player and I know what you mean. The consistency for this deck would be something low like 15% at best which isn't going to fly. These effects just don't work for commander and the inflated deck sizes / singleton nature of the format. I think its an interesting design but I suspect that the fact that this will be legal in modern / legacy is the reason it couldn't be instant or sorcery. This type of card design is limited a lot more by 60 card constructed formats which really keeps them from being used in commander.
Fists of Flame is probably fine, I don't think its going to be huge but I also don't think its so bad that testing it is wrong. If we had evasion on our commander or there were essentially more similar effects I think it would be a lot more interesting. Psychotic Fury could also be a similarly useful type of card but my issue with them tends to be that there just aren't enough good cards like that.

Shu Yun and Feather are different in that Shu doesn't require Instant and Sorceries specifically whereas Feather's ability is exclusive to those (assuming they target a critter of your own). They both could benefit from Heroic effects as well. Shu does like creatures but he could just give himself double strike. I would say Adeliz cares more about creatures, well wizards anyhow.
I just came across this thread and it convinced to give Jori En a try as well! My story doesn't appear to be unique here: I started with Niv-Mizzet, Parun and enjoyed his gameplay, but became frustrated by having such a huge target on my back combined with such an expensive Commander.
This is my first draft, so it's probably far from perfect, starting off with a modified version of my Niv list. It skews a bit more towards control than some others have seen, which stems from the fact that I do tend to be among the first targets in my playgroup (deservedly so, Jori En is part of an effort to become a bit less threatening). Perhaps I'll make some more modifications if it turns out that Jori En needs less control elemeents.
I realize The Unspeakable chain is probably terribad, but I thought if there's ever a deck for it, it's this one, so I decided to give it a go for fun. Firemind's Foresight can even tutor it up! Might get cut in the future though. If you have any further feedback, I'd love to hear it!
Hi everyone, stumbled upon the deck and instantly fell in love! Exactly what I was looking for, a spell-slinger commander that isn't to degenerate / doesn't draws too much hate. I've played one game so far (and won!), look forward to testing more before I make any edits.
Using the deck currently in the OP as a baseline, what are peoples thoughts on:
Budget Replacement for Force of Will, would you recommend Pact of Negation or Counterspell? (how important is free?)
Search of Azcanta, basically rampant growth with suspend, with a little surveiling in between. Seems like this deck really wants the ramp and should be able to flip it easily.
Submerge, allows you to stop creature combos for zero mana, protect win-cons, and helps trigger Jori. Combine with Portent or Ray of Erasure (to shuffle / bin their creature after putting it on top) for maximum style points.
Anyways, thanks for maintaining this list, its fantastic!

Yea, unfortunately I haven't been maintaining my salvation lists much anymore as I have mostly made the move to nexus. I haven't gotten everything updated and ported over there though so this one is a little bit outdated.
Force of Will - Force of Negation would be my preferred but Pact of Negation seems fine I suppose. I have been doing some testing with Force of Negation in addition to Force of Will of late. Pact seems..... fine I just really don't want to pay that 5 mana off later really which would put me very hesitant to use it and ultimately I think Force of Negation is superior for this deck as I really don't intend to defend my own position with it (aka cast it on my turn).
Search for Azcanta - Originally I was hesitant because the activated ability isn't great on the flipped side but yea, as ramp I agree its nice and technically its a mana dump for if you brick off. I have since added it to my list intending to use it as a scry / ramp option.
Submerge - I think it can still be situational. Its true that green is popular but my thought process is along the lines of...... man that would be such a bad card if you can't alt cast it. Vs non combo decks it can also be unfortunate in that you only tempo disabling them instead of killing a problem.
Glad you like it, my list still mostly resembles the OP but its a bit out of date. I still need to bring a few of my lists to nexus :/
Dockside Extortionist - I think that every game and every meta will give very different results. Obviously if you play against a mono color deck or colorless deck you will see a lot more artifacts and if you play against an enchantress deck the same will happen. I think the faster the meta you play in is, probably the better it gets. It also has a lot of potential as a combo piece if you combine it with say Deadeye Navigator and have it make 3+ treasure. I think in a 75% deck that isn't geared and intending to play with or against dedicated combo, I think it probably isn't that great for me in my build with what I expect to play against. This card is good, and the better and more extreme you want to push your game to probably the better it gets but I think it relies on a lot of assumptions on what your opponents will be doing as well. If you look at it on curve, I think in your average game of commander you will be looking at 0-2 treasure on curve. I think its hard to give a decisive answer on how much value it will give because literally every game and every meta it will perform differently. I own a copy as I bought the precon but as of right now, I don't know that I have plans for a deck that will actually test it. Its going to be a lot better in my opinion in a deck that has 1) Combo outlets for it 2) flicker / copy effects 3) some sort of goblin package with tutors for goblins like Goblin Matron for example.
Curse of Opulence - Overall, I think its fine but its also one of those things that the later you see it the worse a payoff it will be. Later in the game it becomes harder to casually poke players and the reward for small tempo ramp also decreases. If you can get opponents to give you treasure though it could be fun. Its a little political but its cheap enough I don't see any issue with testing it out.
Talisman of Creativity - Ramp is fine, this isn't normally a deck I find that I need it but I also don't mind having some ramp. This isn't a deck I feel like I need a lot of ramp for though because most of it isn't accelerating me into my gameplan. Having more mana does make it easier to cast a spell enabler effect and follow up with some spells. Its always a question of what to cut for something like this I guess. I also like ramp that puts lands into play just because artifacts have a tendency to occasionally getting swept.

Teferi's ageless insight Welp I'm big time excited for this. We cantrip often and Jori herself gets one more. This might be big. I will 100% try this and expect big results
Experimental Overload A body that gets a spell out of the GY Seems like a sneaky good effect, If this was instant I'd be so excited. But its worth thinking
and from Jumpstart
Immolating Gyre Is a potentially one sided board wipe, It's the card I'm most excited about right now
I wish we could have one or two more cast spell deals damage,it would be amazing! So I added a Sprite Dragon because I got the cute version and its often pretty good tbh
I've had the chance to play with the deck again recently and used Teferi's Ageless Insight to great effect! The deck is still fun and strong in my meta but has seen some changes over the last couple of months.
The version before my current has changed into Temur Kalamax copy storm and Jori-En is pure draw/cantrip power again. Underworld Breach is an all star in playlines that include Frantic Search and Turnabout for example.
A card i've been trying that i don't really liked over the games i've dropped it, is Nadir Kraken. It seems good value on the surface, but it's a little slow and mana intensive unfortunately.
I to, am excited for Immolating Gyre. It's high up the curve, but the one sided potential might warrant inclusion. Could be a great replacement for the Kraken.
When i get back from holyday's, i'll post an updated decklist.
It has been a little to hot for me to pay any attention to magic lately, but I promised I would post my current version of the deck when I got back from holyday. So here it is
The focus has been on efficiency lately and the deck is just that. Very efficient, and in typical storm fashion it ends the game in a single (often longer) turn. The deck manages to stay under the radar long enough to set up and put up a defense in the process.
Also, the copy spells idea from an earlier itteration have found a place into a more competitive Kalamax, The Stormsire deck right from the spoilers.
A stricktly better version of this effect would be an instant with flashback or other means to cast from the yard, so i can respond to stacked copies of Fateful Showdown and protect myself from self mill.

Changes made were
- homunculus
- eletromancer
+narsets reversal
+ light up the stage.
Light up the stage is great at every stage of the game and we can easily cast it for R which is amazing
Sorry to ask because I'm debating building a cantrips deck but am unsure if I want to go Feather, the Redeemed, Jori En, Ruin Diver, or Adeliz, the Cinder Wind/Tibor and Lumia. I could go Jeskia with Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest but would rather keep it two colors.
Shu Yun and Feather seem different. When I win with Jori En im usually have 2-3 creatures and I deal a bunch of damage out of gitaxian probes.
Shu Yun cares about lots of creatures and Feather care about the "heroic", right?
Spellheart Chimera, Mercurial Geists, Kiln Fiend, Nivix Cyclops, Runechanter's Pike, even Diviner's Wand (with cantrips) all fall in that category. Or anything with Prowess triggers.
Shu Yun and Feather are different in that Shu doesn't require Instant and Sorceries specifically whereas Feather's ability is exclusive to those (assuming they target a critter of your own).
